I swear my stomach got hairier, the rest of me is okay (except my tina lol I haven’t seen her in months idk what’s going on down there) 😂 I’ll need to book myself in for a Hollywood wax now that my laser is growing back 🥲

my midwife appointment is the week after next, if the back ache gets worse I’ll give triage a call and ask them what I should do. I definitely feel more pressure down there though, I’m 30 weeks tomorrow! ☺
I only lurk here as I'm not pregnant, never likely to be again and am awaiting a grandchild but I love to read how all you ladies are getting on. And to read advice for if my daughter in law ever needs any. I hope you don't mind me posting and others have given you very sensible advice lovely but I couldn't read & then not post to you.
If your back pain gets any worse or you lose any mucous plug then please do go get checked asap. I had same symptoms as you 33 years ago, my community midwife fobbed me off saying it was a water infection, I didn't realise as a first time Mum but it was actually 'back labour" starting. Never had any tummy pain/tummy contractions the whole time at all, it was all in my back and my boy was born 4 days later at 32 weeks, emergency dash to hospital with 30 minutes to spare cos I'd believed the stupid midwife.
This is not meant to frighten/alarm you at all, but back labour is a thing, trust me. Don't leave it if you're not feeling right, like I did. My boy is now a strapping big lad by the way, despite his early start. Much love xx

Thank you so so much for your advice, I really appreciate it ❤ my back pain actually eased up a bit, but I have been like a hawk monitoring for any mucous, any tummy pain, any blood etc 😂
So far nothing but loose bowels 🤭

I don’t live too far from the hospital so anything concerning, I’ll be right there knocking on the L&D ward 😂 I think the back pain was just my bump getting bigger!

congratulations on your grandchild xx

Bless you lovely, am glad you are feeling better. I didn't want to interfere but then just couldn't read/ignore. These things can be harmless but then again maybe not, the loose bowels can be a bloody godsend after weeks of being bunged up 🤣🤣 take care of yourself mummy to be X

Thank you 🥹🥹 it’s so hard to tell which are harmless pregnancy symptoms and which symptoms are something more worrying! ❤ xx

I mentioned I think on the last thread about my maternity exemption as I’d not received anything. Update I’ve asked them for it a good couple of times since - I’m now 22 weeks and still not got anything! And I’ve not got the other form they said I’ll need for my maternity leave?
How are these usually both received? I don’t know what more I can do as I’ve asked and asked 😂 they just keep saying you should have them by now (I don’t!) and say they’ll sort it and they don’t?
Should I add a note to my badger notes app so at least there’s something in writing? As the numerous verbal requests have all gone un-actioned.

Totally get that, it's a minefield intit. In my day we had no internet or Google, so just had to trust midwife/doctors advice, surgeries shut at weekends and no 111 or EPU's. You're welcome lovely and I am sure you will be ok. X

I will talk at length to the midwife about my weak AF bladder this week, thank you. I take magnesium citrate already as part of a magnesium 3 in 1 which includes the type that helps you sleep (glycinate? I forget!) and I will try and up my brown carbs and fresh fruit and veg to see if that naturally helps my bowels, otherwise I guess it’s the lactulose for me!

My nose only bled once or twice briefly in the first trimester but I was very snotty and mucus-ey and all of it was streaked with blood all the time. It was v. alarming. The bloodiness of it has now gone but I am a bit snotty still. Using a humidifier machine with eucalyptus and/or a decongestant essential oil mix in it nightly helped me feel less choked up. I now mix lemon and eucalyptus instead, which helps a bit with any residual nausea I have. Best purchase so far!

I got my exemption form emailed to me hours after my first midwife appointment, although my friend in a different county had to chase for theirs.
The Mat B1 form I asked at my 20 week scan and they said id get it at my 25 week midwife appointment, but that's when I am almost 26 weeks and work need it at 25 so was wary it was cutting it fine so I called my midwives (they don't have an email address or the badger app everything is still paper records and phone calls here) and they said I could just pop in anytime for it l, soI did and it literally took 2 mins to get!

exemption was emailed within seconds of my first appointment and my MatB1 is a paper copy as the midwife had to sign and date etc x

I had the same issue. I kept getting told it had been emailed to me but it hadn't. I didn't get a consistent midwife until about 24 weeks and she agreed she'd just resend it. But if course it seems you've tried that so I'm not sure what to suggest 🤷🏻‍♀️

They did my MATB1 at my 20 week scan, when I went in to get my whooping cough vaccine.

Apparently they sent my exemption certificate to my email, after my booking appointment but I never got it..they kept saying “oh you should have gotten it by now??” Well I haven’t so 🤨

Never got it until about 25 weeks when I asked my midwife to resend it while I was in the room, and confirm I had received it

Hey all :) not sure what thread I posted on when I'd just found out in November I was pregnant, now here I am at almost 29 weeks with SPD and haven't been to work because of it today as I couldn't face driving😭. Has anyone purchased the babygo maternity 4 in 1 band at all? Really been sold on it but I'm at a complete loss on what size to get and online is NOT helpful one bit. I was a size 14 post pregnancy so that would indicate I should buy a Large size but I'm contemplating sizing up as I'm only going to get bigger but I'm just so confused by everything I read. Can you tell I'm a first time mum lol? Thanks so much for reading my insomniac fed up gibberish x

Has anyone had a slightly elevated blood pressure reading in the first trimester and managed to bring it down to normal? I read that normally your BP is lower than normal in 1st trimester so I'm worried it's only going to get higher and higher and cause me loads of problems throughout this pregnancy. If anyone has managed to bring it down how did you and how long did it take? Thanks!

How many weeks are you lovely? And what are your BP readings? My BP was always higher than normal levels (hereditary anyway in my family) so I was monitored throughout, but then started showing signs of pre-eclampsia at 28 weeks so put on bed rest. Nothing I did brought it down.

8 weeks! It was 117/85 and that was the 2nd attempt, I didn't see the 1st one but she asked me if I have ever had issues with blood pressure before (which I haven't) and then said after the 2nd one that that was much better so I dread to think how high the 1st one was 😅😭 oh no, that's what I'm terrified of, was everything okay in the end for you?

Well, normal is 120/70 so it's only your bottom figure that's a bit high, your top number is perfectly fine so I honestly would not stress about it right now. Bless you, just keep getting monitored, stay calm and don't panic, enjoy your pregnancy. You might just have a higher BP than what considered 'normal'. All was fine with me in the end thank you, I had my boy early but other factors involved with that. I never got full on pre-eclampsia as he came early, 32 weeks, fighting fit. Take your doctors & midwife advice on board & keep getting checked, but don't stress yet honestly. Xx
