Yep, I could barely walk for the last few weeks. Sorry to say not much you can do about it, I ended up at triage and they gave me some codeine 😖 lots of rest and baths and massage!
I had codeine in the 3rd trimester and in our NHS trust you have to stay in for opioid monitoring before you can take baby home. I’m not saying don’t take essential meds if you need them OP but check the trust’s policy so you know what to expect if you do get offered them.

37 weeks 4 days and since yesterday the pelvic pain has been intense. Also feels like I'm bruised down there. The braxton hicks have really increased too this week. Just want him here. Struggling to walk.

Does anyone have any recommendations for maternity clothes/styling please? Any good accounts on insta for example? Thank you
My advice is buy on Vinted. I got some mat jeans and dungarees for £2 each and wore them with my usual jumpers etc.

Anyone else have constant lower back ache/pain at 37/38 weeks? Started 3 ish weeks ago and it's honestly making me feel so down
Is it sciatica? I had it terribly, someone mentioned codeine and my midwife took pity on me and hunted down a doctor for a prescription. I was on a limited dose but it at least helped me sleep better. Like you I was miserable, if it’s any consolation it went as soon as she was born.

I’m now 14hrs into induction with not much occurring. Waters have been leaking since Friday early evening. I’ve had 4 different pairs of trousers on today, and keep soaking through pads / pants like they’re going out of fashion. Pessary has just fallen out after my latest gush of waters. I’m getting fed up 😩

This is maybe a bit of a weird question and my brain just working overtime, but for those of you who have already had babies, what do you do for making up bottles if you have a power cut??

we exclusively formula fed our first and we never had power cuts in our old house, but now we’ve moved quite rural, we’ve had about 3 in the last couple of months and they can last hours at a time. I know there’s things in place for if they last a certain amount of time, but that might not fit in with newborn feeding! We have an electric hob so can’t even use that.

This is just making me more and more determined to be able to establish breastfeeding with this baby!
I also used to keep some ready made ones in the car as I was paranoid about getting stuck somewhere!

I have a stabbing in my cervix but also a weird pain near my left bum cheeks stretching.. is this my body getting ready?! Nearly 37 weeks now 👀

I’m hoping I’m not being delusional and this baby is on the move soon because I am done 😂

I have started worrying that I don't know the baby basics as I haven't been around any babies for 15 years! I can't even confidently say I can remember how to hold them properly. Does anyone have any book recommendations or learning resources please?

Just had a midwife appointment - my fundal height measurement was above the 97th percentile at 28 weeks but now it’s at 50th percentile at 31 weeks. Has anyone had such a sudden drop before? The midwife said the measurements aren’t always accurate and can differ because of multiple things, especially a difference in the midwife doing the measuring, and she did say if that had been my first measurement then there’d be no concern. She couldn’t find the 97th percentile measurement on my file though, so it doesn’t feel great that it wasn’t saved… 🫠🫠

I’ve got a growth scan tomorrow anyway because of previous losses, but just wanted to hear from others who have experienced similar.

My most useful book was ‘your baby week by week’

Has anyone found it much harder to let things go when pregnant? Things that would play on my mind for a very short while and I'd move on I'm now finding really hard to let go of and getting worked up about it. It's odd.

Mine went 50 at 28 weeks, 97 at 31 weeks (growth scan showed everything fine) and back to 50 at 34 weeks, due to be measured again fri and I’m expecting a different number again as I’m certain she’s dropped n my bump is so much lower 😬

Mine have consistently been all over the place. They don't seemed concerned though everywhere week I'm being prodded and poked to make sure nothings causing it.

Hi all, I’m 4 weeks pregnant and have started lightly spotting which I know is normal but once a day I get a literal flood gate of blood ?! (For past 3 days) it’s not super heavy there’s just looks like a lot if that makes sense… no pain either? I’m still testing positive and still have sore boobs, fatigue etc. Called my local EPU they won’t see me until I’m 6 weeks and the GP said we can’t do anything just go to a&e if you lose any clots the size of your palm 😱

l never had any bleeding with my daughter who is now 3, I had a miscarriage (8wk) a couple years ago and I was constantly losing a lot of blood and a
lot of pain so totally at a loss now to what’s going on!

has anyone had a similar experience?? I don’t want to keep getting my hopes up but don’t want to dwell either 😭😭

Wishing you all the luck and love in the world with your pregnancies and conceiving journeys xxxx
I had bleeding at the same time lovely, the said it was to do with implantation but I’ve never had any miscarriages so I can completely understand why this would be scary for you. Do you have an early pregnancy centre at your local hospital? Mine have been great seeing me for HG and scanned me at 8 weeks xxx

Edit to say you said EPU which I presume is that! You could book private as soon as possible? Xx

I have came off my contraception in August and have tested positive today. I feel I have absolutely no clue on what I should / shouldn’t eat and I feel awful about the fact I’ve been drinking on various occasions
Do the doctors only see you at 6 weeks? Help please!

congratulations!!

if you are in the UK - the NHS have a list here which says what to avoid,

as for before you tested positive don’t worry - most of us drank alcohol or ate things on that list before we knew and so do 90% of women!

Normally you won’t see a doctor at all if your pregnancy is all progressing well, you’ll have a midwife appointment at about 8 weeks which is just blood tests, weight, height and a chat about general health. Then your first scan will be around 12 weeks to give you a date and check for any chromosomal issues.

the NHS don’t tend to scan before 6 weeks as there is usually nothing to see at that point, and between 6 and 12 weeks will only scan if you have a problem such as bleeding.

private scans are available in many places between 6 and 12 weeks to give you a bit of reassurance if you need it!

Growth scan went well! Sonographer was really happy with the measurements and baby girl is currently estimated to be over 4lbs, which puts her on the 90th percentile. She’s on track to be an estimate of 8lbs 12oz at birth but the sonographer told me it’s not 100% accurate and to not worry about the fundal height anymore. 🥰

Hey hope I can join. I am only 4 weeks pregnant.

I have had two previous miscarriages both at 8 weeks. Subsequently been diagnosed with an immune disorder which makes my blood clot meaning I miscarry.

I’m under the care of my consultant and a team who deal with high risk pregnancies.

Tomorrow I start my injections and meds 🙏 I am hoping this means my pregnancy lasts.
