This is a bit random but wondering if anyone else has felt like this?
I keep getting surges of anxiety but can never put my finger on what’s causing it, however I think it might be the lack of control I have over my body while pregnant.
I look down at my bump and I don’t feel like it’s my body/my bump if that makes any sense?
It’s not that I’m not attached to the baby because I absolutely love feeling them wriggle in there and feel so protective of them already, I literally think it’s a physical body thing, like knowing I’m going to get bigger/give birth/all the PP stuff.
But I’m not unhappy with how I look pregnant or anything like that.

maybe it’s all just hormones I don’t know?
I don’t feel like my MH is in a bad way or anything I just get these sudden pangs of anxiety/wanting to cry and then it passes just as quickly as it comes on.

sorry for the long post!

Does anyone else contemplate their entire life when they have to bend down to get something off the floor 😂 stood around for about a minute today wondering if it was really worth picking up a piece of dropped food or if I should just kick it towards the bin. God help when I’m further along haha

It’s been playing on my mind recently that I don’t think anyone will plan a baby shower for me. I don’t have any siblings and parents are dead. I don’t really have a ‘village’ and I feel like the few friends and family that I do talk to regularly wouldn’t really be in a position to throw one for me either. I don’t expect one to be thrown for me and pampered with gifts but it’s upsetting to think I don’t think anyone will bother

Omg congrats! 💕 I’m jealous 😂🙈

Our 12 week NT scan was also all good, we even got some 3d pics which I was not expecting, but we could not see the sex. So now we’re waiting for NIPT 🤞🏼 husband took me for coffe and cake after to celebrate, so cute. 💛

Sorry if this triggers anyone else, but I genuinely think I may have prenatal depression. I’ve asked to be referred to the mental health midwife but I’m at a point now where I don’t want to do anything - I would quite happily stay in bed every single day.
I am worried they’ll think I’m a shit mum, but I know it stems from my losses and just wanting to keep her safe.
I am 21 weeks and hoped my fears would ease by now but they haven’t

Its Like i saw the pregnancy positive on my test and checked out of work mentally and physically 😂 we’ve had so many changes happening staffing wise and curriculum wise and every time someone says something I just think to myself ‘you won’t be here in November let it go’ 🙈

Feeling overwhelmed today 18 weeks and feel like were not going to have everything ready in time even though we still have ages
Don’t panic. Something to eat (self sterilising bottles and formula or nipple cream), somewhere to sleep (cot, mattress, sheets & blanket/sleep sack), something to wear (couple of multi packs of babygrows), nappies and wipes, a car seat and pram and you’d have everything you need. You can get away with far less than you think. So much can be delivered next day or picked up locally 2nd hand.
Toys, play mats, bath stuff, nursery furniture, designated change bag, all that stuff you don’t need immediately and you don’t need say, loads of bottles, to start, a couple would work. The daytime cot is redundant as they want to be held and I change baby on a towel on the bed more than their mat and have only used the change table 2x in 6 weeks. I will use it as they get bigger and it’s good storage but I didn’t even have one first time around, just a table and nappy caddy. I’ve got tons of muslins but still find myself grabbing the nearest towel or whatever which does the job just as well.
Don’t forget shops like Mamas and Papas and influencers who talked about ‘must haves’ are just trying to panic you to make you buy stuff because they profit from it. No baby has suffered because they didn’t have the right nursing chair in their room x

I'm not sure if I can blame this on baby brain or the fact I have a 1 and a 2 year old, but I didn't realise I was already 19 weeks pregnant.

Got my booking appointment today, I really hope I don’t get moaned at about BMI bollocks. I’m really tall and carry a lot of muscle so I come up overweight/obese. Love how the medical field still uses a tool made for white dudes that the creator explicitly said should never be used in a health setting. :cautious:

I finally decided on a cot to buy with my boyfriend after weeks of telling him I didn’t want to buy one because I was convinced the 20 week scan was going to be bad news and omg I’m in love. Got the two piece set and I can’t wait to get the nursery decorated

Thanks both, that’s a big relief to hear. ❤ I’ll report back later to say how mine went. I think I’m just still scarred from a horrendous GP I saw last summer who said my previous losses are due to my high BMI and dismissed me right in the middle of a panic attack. Cow.

All the midwives I've met so far have been lovely and haven't mentioned my weight/BMI in a negative way at all. A GP called me fat though! We were discussing my medication and she said about folic acid "fat people need a higher dose" as she was writing the prescription. I am fully aware that I've been overweight since lockdown so I was expecting it to be mentioned at some point but I've never had a medical professional use the word "fat" like that before so I was a bit shocked. She also made me feel weirdly guilty for having a history of depression and needing medication so yeah, don't think I'll be seeing her again if I can help it!

Went into hospital tonight for reduced movement at 26 weeks, I think my anxiety got the best of me after a hard day in work but I really recommend that if you’re worried at all, just ring. The midwives were so lovely, I was seen in less than 15 minutes and hooked up to monitors. Heard babies heartbeat and was instantly put at ease. Midwives explained baby was probably just in a awkward position/behind anterior placenta and it was nothing to worry about but we’d done the right thing coming in.

id been an absolute wreck before going in, ugly tears down the phone but the whole experience was calm and reassuring - of course this was at 10pm, I bet it would be packed if I’d have gone at 2pm for example 😂
