More brown blood today :( why can’t this just be stress free. I have blood like once a week. After losing the one, I’m so frightened about the other one :(

I’ve texted the midwife to see what she thinks.
I know people that bled the whole way through their pregnancies and their babies are perfectly healthy ❤ I had bleeding at 6 weeks was brown blood too turned out to be old blood, they wouldn’t scan me or anything though cause they only classed it as staining

I hope everything is ok. I had 5 episodes of bleeding in this pregnancy, more often it was just spotting but one time at 6/7 weeks I passed a clot about the size of a 5p. I had a sub chorionic haematoma which thankfully resolved by 12 weeks. I’m now almost 26 weeks. It’s such a worrying time though, in my last pregnancy I had bleeding up until 21 weeks with my son. Blue lighted to the hospital the whole lot. He’s now 6. I hope this gives you some piece of mind x

Thanks everyone for all the support and kind words. Contacted midwife twice but nothing back, her phone is off so I’ve left a message. I’ve got a tiny bit of a sore tummy just now almost like the mildest of cramping. I’m wondering if I should take tomorrow off work to rest as well?

Just found out I’m pregnant with my second child, due in October so very early, I’m only 4weeks 3 days, my little girl will be 2.5 when the new arrival is here, I’m pretty terrified of having a toddler and a newborn to contend with, do any more experienced mamas have any words of wisdom or reassurance for me ha ha,
Also, has anyone breastfed during a pregnancy? I’m breastfeeding my little one still and she’s surgically attached to my boobs at the moment, I’m just a little paranoid about whether it could negatively affect my progesterone or anything

I would take it off, how many weeks pregnant are you? If your quite early does your hospital have a early pregnancy unit you could attend?

sorry to hear about the stressful time you’ve had, have you got an early pregnancy unit at any of your local hospitals you can phone and ask them to get you in for a scan? It’s probably nothing to worry about, I had spotting and cramping with my little girl and all was fine, but I would insist on getting a scan for your own peace of mind

I feel you on being terrified haha! My little on will be 21 months when baby is here, he's pretty much been in lockdown since he was 4 months old hoping he doesn't resent the baby as we are together all the time 🙈

ha ha aw I’m sure he will love the new baby, I’m feeling a weird kind of guilt towards my daughter for getting pregnant, almost like I’ve cheated on her or something! I hope she doesn’t think I love her any less because of the new baby, motherhood is just one big long guilt trip sometimes ha ha

Welcome to the thread and congratulations. I've not advice regarding a second as this will be my first but I'm excited for you. Small age gaps are lovely x

Hi, congrats! I have been breastfeeding at the start of all my pregnancies (after no1!) and never had an issue. With baby 2 I fed until around 8 weeks, baby 3 I was about 11 weeks when I stopped feeding, and this current pregnancy my toddler stopped feeding around 14 weeks. You should be absolutely fine 👍🏻

I’ve also had approx 2.5yr age gaps as well, and it’s great! Never had any problems with that Age gap at all. I would say, if possible, get no1 out of nappies a good while before no2 arrives. Trying to potty train with a newborn isn’t something I’ve ever wanted to get in to!

oh thank you so much! This is very reassuring, yes I’m gonna try and potty train my daughter sometime between April and sept, just depending on how ready she is, it will be a relief to potty train her as she is a terror at getting her nappy changed ha ha

I would really recommend the book (I have the kindle version) Oh Crap Potty Training for when the time comes 😊

Also just to add when I got pregnant with my 2nd I was so worried I had ruined my eldest’s life 🙈 that she would be so put out and resent it all forever. That never materialised, she absolutely loved having a baby sibling (as did my son when no3 came along) and I think 2.5 is a great age for them to be able to understand it all. It will all fall in to place, try not to torture yourself with worries about how you’ll manage and how your eldest will take to the baby

thank you so much for replying, honestly it is really reassuring, that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling - like I’m going to ruin my little girls life, what a weird guilt trip it is, these are the things about motherhood which you just don’t expect, everyone knows about the sleep deprivation and the dirty nappies but the guilt and emotional load is crazy, I’m just going to try and relax and have faith that everything will work out!

I think it probably won’t make things worse or better but if you’re not feeling right and your mind is elsewhere then I’d take the day off work. Have you tried calling the early pregnancy unit? X

I texted my manager to explain and she said to take the day off and try to speak to midwife before coming back in. She’s really really nice. I haven’t called EPU today but I might do tomorrow.

I would definitely call the EPU in the morning they will be much more helpful than a midwife xx

Anyone else on cyclizine? Not sure what I expected but they’re not proving to be any help at all. Only been on them a week so might need to give them more time to work

Hi 👋🏻 I was on cyclezine last pregnancy and this one. Last time they helped loads and I would feel much better after taking one. It would start to wear off after a few hours and I knew I was ready for my next. This time they haven’t been much use. I take them 3 times a day and they’ve never taken the nausea away totally. They do take the edge off slightly so I just live with it like that, so nausea is about a 5 rather than a 9.

You shouldn’t need to wait a week for them to work, if they aren’t working at all, ask for something else.

And yes, apparently they do make you drowsy but I’ve never noticed 🙈 I am just knackered all the time I think 🤣
