Gahh so frustrating - it’s so strange how different the care is based on where you are?! Is it your first baby? Hopefully they’ll be better after your 12 week scan 🤞🏼
I’m 30+4 now! First baby. To be honest haven’t had massively in depth discussions with any midwives yet but I’m doing hypnobirthing and NCT and reading lots of books, plus a lot of my friends have had babies recently so don’t feel like I’m missing too much. But not great for other women I’m sure

I think I've spent more time looking at bloody baby monitors than I have about giving birth or parenting 🤦‍♀️
Everyone recommends the BT6000, say it's brilliant etc but then say the sound and picture quality are sub-par which surely should be the most important thing? I'm going to order try it.
I like the Vava but 'Which' puts in below the BT and a lot of the Amazon reviews look fake, that'll be second choice.
The cheaper Amazon ones like the Toguard and Biofun look ok too....

I need something with a very long range so while I don't want to link it to my phone, if the others can't do it, I'll go for a victure single camera and link it to an old phone.
I've always gone for cheaper ones as I don't see the point in spending loads out for them if they do the same thing. So made sure I read reviews

How did you ladies find working (if you are currently) through the first trimester (eg: sickness, nausea, aching)? Did you tell your manager or wait until 12 weeks?
I told my manager at 6 weeks because I had bleeding whilst at work so explained to him so he knew why I wanted to go home and get checked out. My job required lifting ect so I knew if at least he knew, he would give me the jobs which required less lifting.
I didn't tell anyone else at work though until later on

If there’s been a positive test then that will be passed to track and trace regardless I’d have thought? Don’t need the app
But the track and trace wouldn’t be able to alert or know who was in contact with the positive person?
Either way, I’m beyond furious with his work. They knew his co-worker was getting tested Friday and didn’t bother to say anything.

I haven't had it but always made sure I do the test at around 36/37 weeks.
Yes the antibiotics do stop it. And no you don't have it for life 😊
Did you do a private test or did you get offered it on NHS? I’m aware not everyone gets offered it unless risk factors

Yeah definitely, I wonder what I'm having! A boy would be easier as I have everything in the loft 🙈

That was the best thing when we had a second boy, we’d kept everything. And I actually wanted 2 boys.

This time we’d already got rid of everything as we weren’t having anymore 😂 but it’s been nice buying girls things.

Mine is a V/U shaped pillow I always sleep on my left size and I have it next to my bump and between my legs and I cuddle it 😂 it’s so comfy!
Not sure if it was a silly question haha 😂
I'm thinking I could do with one.
I always bunch my duvet up at the side of me and between my legs to make it more comfy

I think low papp-a is linked to your placenta not working as well or something like that? So they keep an eye on baby to make sure they're getting what they need to grow?
Ah okay, my last pregnancy I was induced 2 weeks early because I had low fluid and my placenta was giving up but I didn't have papp-a then, strange! Another thing to add to my ever growing list haha 🙈😂

I said to my husband last night ‘I think I’ve found the crib I like.’ And he said ‘ok favourite it’ and didn’t ask to see it. Wish they were excited as us about things like that. Yeah it’s that type of place but just one local to us.
My partner doesn't care at all.
He doesn't look into any of it and if it's something we need he just goes "Well just get it then"

I see all these people where their partners are all excited, feeling the baby kicks ect. And he just doesn't give a crap 😂
Any time I' m in pain his response is always "Well that's the joys of being pregnant"
Yet once the baby is here, he's completely different

How many weeks are you? I have been like this for weeks like knackered it is defo a symptom do you crash in the afternoon? Also I am defo lazy but that has nothing to do with being pregnant 🤫 x
Only 5 weeks, so I feel like a bit of a fraud claiming exhaustion already 😂 yeah exactly that, I was tired this morning but by this afternoon I was really struggling!

Ive been getting stomach aches for the past few days too but reassured to read further up this thread that others have experienced the same too

So do you recommend newborn baby just sleeps in crib with no sleepyhead / baby nest thing?
Sleepy head or any kind of nest shouldn’t be used over night at all, the manufacturer says this. They’re for supervised sleeping only.

Anything they can turn their face into they say avoid. which I don’t really why with Moses baskets it’s ok but I guess because they are sort of ribbed thy can get air still.

We’ve got a Moses for daytime and a next to me for night.

Had my 12 week scan today, everything looks great although I got scolded for not drinking enough to fill my bladder up 😂, pretty hard when every mouthful you want to spew 🙃.

Has anyone had the nub theory done? I know it's a bit of a gimmick but curious if anyone has done it and it's been right!
I've never gone by nub theory. Always gone by skull theory and been 100% right every time 😂

Oh I see. I didn’t realise they did that.
And no, I just meant they didn’t use the app which seems stupid as they are going into people’s houses and they were all under strict instructions about what they were to do if they came into contact with any risk outside work.

Anyway, sorry to hijack. Stay safe everyone x

When his colleague had his test he would have Given his contact details and they call him within a day or so to get his contacts (my husband had to do this and they called me as one of his contacts lol). Unless you mean the colleague didn’t comply with this when you say they aren’t using track and trace?

I read about encapsulating the placenta a while ago and the gist I got was that there are some benefits but also some risks. Bit of a fad and not actually worth it.

That’s just the conclusion I made. Always good to make up your own mind.
