I've just started listening to open mind by frankie bridge - all about her battle with anxiety and depression.

So far so good

True Crime podcasts are such a minefield! I really don't like MFM either, they're annoying and it's poorly researched.
I've been listening to podcasts for years and some have come and gone (I unsubscribe if the crimes or criminals are sensationalised or the writing is terrible or insensitive etc), but one I've always loved is 'Casefile'. Bonus points for bring neither American or US-centric. 'Criminal' with Phoebe Judge is also a goodun, beautifully written. Same for 'Someone Knows Something' (bonus points for being Canadian- so many interesting accents!).

I hope that's helpful? Lemme know how you get on, I can probably recommend you some more you'd enjoy.

(Apologies for not seeing this thread earlier- I searched but must have missed it!)
Thank you so much for your recommendations, I'll definitely give them a go!
I also find with MFM that they're so long but they just waffle on about nothing and I've heard such good things so thought it was just me, pleased to find out it's not!

I really recommend the Jeffrey Epstein podcast I mentioned called ‘broken’ if you like that sort of true crime. It’s totally horrifying but not at all exploitative of the victims pain like some podcasts. Its style is actually quite similar to serial s1 and dirty John which I loved too. Only 4 episodes have come out so far so it’s each feels quite hot off the press which is exciting.
Must add it to my list! I used to like Real Crime Profile but got sick to death of hearing Laura Richards big herself up all the time with her manly voice

This is phenomenal stuff, highly recommended. Find myself standing still in the kitchen with tears streaming down my face listening to these. Covers some pretty difficult topics through mesmerising writing, much of it rap poetry. No, don't get put off, I'm not particularly a 'rap' fan either! He's brilliant, won many awards. Try something outside your usual subject area.

I highly recommend '' Mile Higher'' ( They also have YouTube videos ) .
This is the only podcast I'm listening, not a big podcast fan.
It's about conspiracy theories, mysterious events that happened in the past etc. Each episode is about 1h long, but they also talk about lots of other interesting topics in each episode. There is like this main topic plus at the beginning they talk about other stuff, but you can skip it easily.
Some of my faves were Rockefeller & Rothschild families, Princess Diana death conspiracy, MH370 flight disappearance , Scientology conspiracy ( I did more research after listening to this and will never ever watch any Tom Cruise movies, he is a sick person and should be in prison ).
I love mile higher!!

I’ve started listening to the Titanic one but the guy keeps saying “supposebly” and it’s doing my head in ? How do you become a grown ass man and still say supposebly.
I know what u mean. I love mile higher thou. Both josh and kendall say about how they arent perfect when it comes to grammar etc but they cover things I love like true crime and conspiracy so I cant resist!

I love true crime and my fave as already mentioned is mile higher.
Also love the serial podcast by Sarah Koenig/ this American life about adnan Syed. That whole podcast had me hooked and I still on and off read up about the whole hae min murder and his trial.
Also have recently started listening to my favourite murder. I dont really listen to them all, just the ones that interest me from the synopsis as there are so many and I am new to them I'm cherry picking those that stand out!

Anyone listening to the thing about pam? I love the narrators voice.

I use the iPhone podcast app too but had an android for a few months during summer and struggled to find a good one. Acast was awful, always gets stuck. Spotify is ok but doesn’t have enough on there. The best I found was google podcasts which weirdly seems underpromoted-I’d never heard of it but just found from, erm ,googling..
