I love watching aircraft investigation! I actually am cabin crew but I used to be terrified of flying before I did the job 🙈🙈🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ But I find it fascinating. I never feel scared up in the air anymore-I’m more scared in a car. My partner is a pilot and I never worry when he goes to work either - I worry more when I know hes tired and driving home.
But like some of you on here I have a lot of vivid dreams about planes crashing. It’s always outside my childhood home and it either crashes into a field or I see it falling out of the sky. I have it quite often and leaves me unsettled. I have no idea what it means!

Also -as crew it’s frustrating when I watched back the footage of the aircraft that burst into flames on the runway of BA aircraft in Las Vegas- the passengers were all evacuating the aircraft with their bags/ luggage. This is so important to leave behind, I can’t stress this enough. We only have 90 seconds to try and clear an aircraft and it really is the difference between life and death. I know it’s natural to want to get your belongings but don’t do it at the risk of someone else’s life.

If I had to evacuate a plane quickly I’d be leaving all of my stuff behind and trying to get out as fast as possible incase it blew up 😬

I’m a nervous flyer and my worst nightmare is crashing into the sea rather than land. I don’t know why 😂 I always have a couple of drinks to settle my nerves.

I would love to know what happened to MH370 it drives me mad not knowing.

Before Covid happened we wanted to go to Hawaii as part of our honeymoon but I was in two minds because it’s just flying over the sea for 5 hours and that makes me feel nervous. I’m weird 🤣

Omg I am exactly the same. I feel
Ok ish if I am over land!!

Oh really?!! It’s so strange isn’t it? It’s always outside mine too, I never witness it anywhere else. But i have it every so often, really freaks me out. I’d love to know what it means! X

Mine always used to be outside my childhood home, but the last maybe two times it’s been in my current house. Mine always ends when the plane actually crashes in the street, there is never any more to it than that.

I honestly don’t know, but if I had to guess I would say human cause rather than mechanical, simply due to the fact it flew after disconnecting from ATC. I wouldn’t say I’m massively a theorist about it all though, certainly not a conspiracy theorist, but I just find it fascinating that a whole plane can disappear and people don’t know why, or even really when or where. Like we can get a thing to Mars, but finding out what happened to MH370 escapes us!
Have you seen this yet about MH370

I’d highly recommend watching the C4 documentary called The Crash where they deliberately crashed a plane in the Mexican desert. They had tons of slow motion cameras on board along with crash test dummies so you could see what happened if you braced/didn’t brace/no belt on etc. really fascinating but they did emphasise that they had to belly flop the plane to allow it to crash as in tact as possible as a nose dive or explosion wouldn’t allow for much wreckage.
My brother in law is a pilot for a huge Asian carrier and he has some interesting stories. He refused to fly once as he wasn’t happy with the condition of the plane, I don’t think his managers were happy as it cost the airline thousands but he said rather that than 300 people dead. Which is fair enough.

I recommend the youtube channel Mentour Pilot for anyone who likes that sort of thing - he does air accident documentaries (including several where no-one gets hurt, which is great when you're after something lighter) and also general videos about aviation. Sometimes guest starring his two adorable dogs!

The one that started the obsession for me was TWA Flight 800, mostly because I was just gobsmacked to learn how the investigation team could reconstruct the whole chain of events from disintegrated wreckage floating in the ocean. I actually read most of the NTSB report to see how they did it and it was really impressive. They kept the wreckage for training for a long time and it only got decommissioned last summer.

A woman I worked with when I lived in London’s fiancé was on the plane that crashed over the Atlantic going from Rio De Janeiro to Paris :-( I watched the air crash investigation episode of it and it was so sad as it was all down to pilot error and could have been avoided
That one was so sad. The one consolation is that everyone was killed instantly, and as it was the middle of the night it's almost certain none of the passengers would have realised anything was wrong (if they were even awake) - when you can't see out you really can't feel that the plane's descending, even though you'd think you would. It was infuriating how avoidable it all was though :(

Who remembers the air crash investigation where the pilot let his kids have a turn at the controls. His daughter went first and then the son who then was pressed on something accidentallythey couldn’t recover the plane. So shocking and sad

Here it is
