Did she? I thought it was she’d lied about it and been promoting healthy weight loss methods. So when the press reported gastric band she lost her relatable image and they didn’t really want her presenting the show anymore.

Still not really a sackable offence in my opinion. Her gastric band is no one else’s business, granted the promotion of weight loss products isn’t a great look but she isn’t the first nor the last, and people have done far worse and managed to keep their jobs with itv even to the point where itv will help cover up for them So I stand by my feeling that Fern being sacked was unfair and also that itv are shady af.

Where as fern having a gastric band and lying was all over the media so the majority of people who watch this morning didn’t want her on anymore?

Yup - so it's media driven as usual. They could have chosen to be sympathetic to Fern, and to destroy Phil, if they had wished. They are the puppet-masters, as always.

And yes the allegations are not common knowledge at all I'd say, and although there seems to be a fairly sizeable number who want answers, ITV and his peers (no doubt petrified that they are heavily implicated in all of this) are still trying to ride this all out, in the hope that it will eventually die down and not spread any further.

Did anyone see PS trying to cook on this morning today? They were cooking along with a chef over video link. He made his sauce so thick it looked like wallpaper paste lol and then he pretended it tasted lovely. He’s such an arrogant head, can’t even admit to not being able to cook

I also thought it was really rude he talked all over when the man from the zoo was trying to explain how to donate money to them.

Yes because he was in a position to pay for a cover up.
And for some reason ITV chose not to cover up for Fern.

Basically money is at the root of it all.

People who work on the show who are as famous and wealthy as him could do interviews with the Press and make all of this public knowledge.
They don't need to work for the money because they have raked in millions so they could risk losing their job to make the truth known.

They would rather cover it all up and keep collecting their pay cheques so they can continue to bask in public adoration.

Yes my personal view is that there is potentially more to this than we know. Maybe the allegations about PS go deeper - if they are true, maybe what he is doing is just part of a wider culture in the industry. It wouldn't be surprising given all that we know. And so they do not want any of us to go down that particular rabbit hole.

And remember he is only as wealthy as he is because he gets given all the gigs and the sponsorships in the first place. And if true that he had a damage limitation firm contracted when all this kicked off to the tune of £30K a week - who was paying this fee? PS or ITV?

I look back and compare his career trajectory to Andi Peters and wonder why Andi Peters didn't make it as big, when they started off on similar paths. AP seems like a really nice genuine, talented, down to earth man with a great personality - and yet he didn't go nearly as far. Why is this?

All the gigs get given to the same old people - they have come to dominate the industry for whatever reason.

Andi Peters has had a massively successful career behind the scenes in executive roles. The one thing people forget about PS is that his career was really in the weeds until the John Leslie stuff happened. For a while he was the man who you'd wonder "whatever happened to...".
The comparison to PS is a really interesting one though. IIRC AP has never officially come out, yet everyone knows he is gay. I don't know if he does any work behind the camera anymore but I think he does bits for whatever the show on ITV is called in the mornings?

The comparison to PS is a really interesting one though. IIRC AP has never officially come out, yet everyone knows he is gay. I don't know if he does any work behind the camera anymore but I think he does bits for whatever the show on ITV is called in the mornings?

Last year on twitter someone commented to him that they wished he was on TV as much as Ant and Dec and tagged in ITV - and he replied 'thank you. I hope so'. Which implies he feels the same kind of way.

His private life is his own - he hasn't made a career pretending to be anything he isn't, or berating others for what they do in theirs. If he can't be more open and he would rather be - then that is sad, and a reflection of a still homophobic society (and media who pretend they aren't when it suits them).

Potentially another man was on the scene - a bit of a hunk as well - I notice Matt is really working hard to lose weight and get fit and I think he’s got a bit of a complex surrounding his body. I wonder if it’s got anything to do with this mystery guy. How many more were there that he spent time out in public with. It was always said by my friend in the press that he ‘has the boys over to his flat in Southwark’ but didn’t think he’d be so bold as to go out in public with others.
