Yes! Yes! Yes! Thanks for mentioning because I thought I was going mad/having a heart attack. I thankfully have never suffered with anxiety, but these past few weeks I've been having palpitations/flutters and feeling really anxious like I'm worried about something or sitting an exam, when I'm absolutely not. It's driving me mad. I just feel so worried all the time.

I'm 53, haven't had a period since June. Got to 300 odd days period free last year before I came on out of the blue 🙄 Unfortunately I can't take HRT due to health condition and no supplements because they could affect my current medication.

I'm really sorry you are going through this too ❤
Oh no, I'm sorry you're experiencing the same with flutters, but thank you for the reassurance ❤ Some of the flutters were really quite harsh as well, I had to catch my breath - very unpleasant.

Period pants are a lifesaver!! Pads were irritating me so I moved on to m&s period pants and they’ve been fab! I’ve just bought a pair of Boody’s in their sale to see what they’re like too so 🤞🏻
They were irritating me too so I moved to the organic cotton ones from the health shops now they are brill

Has anyone else had chest/heart flutters? Happened a few weeks ago quite often and wasn't sure if peri or due to something I was anxious about.
I’ve had absolutely horrendous palpitations all year. So much so I’ve been referred to cardiology (apparently it’s a 12 month wait) 🙃 but chances are it’s due to low oestrogen.

Ironically, I’ve noticed the palpitations are particularly bad when my period is AWOL. Now I’ve flipped the script and have been bleeding for six weeks, the palpitations have more or less stopped. What’s worse? 😂

I am SO fed up of having to wear pads or tampons constantly. Fed up with that feeling of a heavy period IYSWIM. I was prescribed tranexamic acid which slowed the bleeding right down but didn’t stop it completely. Then bam, back to heavy. Basically it’s been two periods back to back with constant spotting in between.

Saw a GP again today and have been prescribed norethisterone, have a pelvic ultrasound next week and a blood test to check my iron levels. Was also told that I’d been taking tranexamic acid for too long and to stop because it increases the risk of blood clots. Wonderful!

I have a kind of fluttering in my throat for about 5 minutes, that then makes me cough. Does anyone else get this?

Elvanse, I have 20 and 40mg so I can take up to 60mg when I need it. Then dex for top ups. Hopefully with things settling down I can cycle it properly and get it working. I saw a seminar on it last year and it makes so much sense. Maybe then i can shift this weight that's sprung up on me. Even considering orlistat (or whatever its called)

What' meds are you on?
I was on concerta then nothing due to shortages then instant release methylphenidate which is awful and I’m trying to get them to swap me back to concerta again

Fingers crossed you get that to happen soon. I thought the shortages had finished now. So frustrating especially if you have to wait to see the adhd team because efficiency is definitely something they don't do well.

I know some people have tried teas in the past (I know I looked at some that were £50+ a month), but I've found this tea, it's loose leaf, I don't drink it too late in the day and it's been really good. I definitely have noticed a difference in my brain fog when I don't have it first thing

Interesting, what does it taste like? I can't drink normal tea anymore

Thanks for this I’m going to give it a try

Does anyone else feel the older you get the more selfish you become?
I reckon this is linked to the drop in oestrogen (the caring hormone). Once that drops, our give a tit meter goes with it. I'm sure there are more scientific studies out there but it makes sense in my head.

The first time was a bit yikes as I'm getting used to herbal teas. It's flowery and just well yummy, I'm useless at describing sorry. I'm pretty sure yummy is a description of flavours :ROFLMAO:

I'm not sure if it's selfish but I'm certainly less tolerant of other people's tit!
Plus, you're realising more half your life has already gone and to focus on what is important to you.

There was an article on FB yesterday about the science of this to do with the drop in certain hormones but silly me due to peri brain I thought I’d saved it to read later and I hadn’t 🤣 🤣

Thank you. They have finished. This is just how slowly things move here, I swapped at the beginning of 2025 and couldn’t get it back due to getting high blood pressure reading at my (non adhd) hospital appointment after someone burst into the room 4 times in the middle of getting it taken 😡

I've had awful PMT for the past week or so like the worst period ever is coming - I'm bloated, exhausted, nauseous, away with the fairies and just generally meh. Which would be bad enough if a horrible period was coming but I don't have them anymore due to the mini pill so is this just how I feel forever now - I can barely keep my eyes open let alone give a tit about Christmas and the gazillion things I need to do. Just urgghhhh
