Not yet will check back in when they inevitably tell me I’ve got nothing wrong with me 😭🤣🫣 fgs lol

I’ve also had 2 CT scans recently so will be interesting to see if anything comes up.

I had no idea any of this could be peri related 😳
Are you on HRT?

I had painful shoulders and hips. I developed Plantar Faciitus. Then once I was on the right hrt dose, all those pains went away, within days.

Apparently it's inflammation in the joints from lack of Estrogen.

Perimenopause is just awful.

I heard that with your oestrogen gel you can rub it over your shoulders. I didn't know about plantar fascitis being a menopause symptom. Is there anything that isn't 😊

no hadn’t thought I need it yet 🫣🤣 also my mum never took it she just coped with her symptoms!

Plantar fasciitis is what I thought had started my feet pain 3 years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️

I clearly need a gp appointment asap

All of this was a shock to me too!!

My foot pain was stopping me from walking much and I'd been referred to a physio by my GP. The physio wasn't helping any of my pains. Then I started having hot flushes, insomnia and brain fog. Once I'd pieced the symptoms together, I realised what it was.

I've moved up HRT doses 3 times in 7 months and finally feel like I'm getting myself back together. But still not feeling like my old self.

I'm very jealous of my husband and his stable hormones! Oh to be a man.

I've taken the plunge and decided to contact a private gynacologist, the receptionist at my GP told me it took her 6 years to get sorted and she went private herself. She said they will probably wait to do anything until I've seen the gynacologist - but has put me on the wait list to speak to someone about the coil. I'm done and not waiting until the middle of next year. It'll be less Christmas presents for people this year :ROFLMAO:

They probably think you're a middle aged, miserable, menopausal what not anyway and won't be surprised :ROFLMAO:

More seriously, your health and well being are a far higher priority, and your loved ones would or certainly should understand if you have to prioritise your budget.

You may have only been joking, but sometimes presents, giving money etc does get out of hand and it can be useful for one event to trigger a review and cull. Slightly veering off-topic, but it's also an anxiety and mental health issue. A few years ago, MrLily was made redundant, nearing Christmas finances were still tight. I had been doing gifts or money for my cousin's kids, the stepdaughters and their kids. So, I explained to everyone we weren't doing anything for anyone at Christmas, and it would probably then extend to Birthdays.

I haven't ever resumed. We never received anything from them anyway. My cousin's kids are now adults, Mr Lily's side don't even send us Birthday or Christmas cards and we never or rarely see any of them, so, I just thought, sod it and never returned to sending anything.

Hah, you must know me :ROFLMAO:

I decided back last year with high blood pressure that I had to prioritise myself, as I can't care for others if I don't take of ,myself, and also I need to be here to do that.

I love Christmas but detest all the hype and expectations this could be a good outer for that!

My blood pressure also rose with the onset of perimenopause, I didn't realise it at the time. I've manged to come off medication for it, now that I'm on HRT.

It's crazy the effect peri has on the body

🫣 I’ve been shoving pessarys up my bum for weeks because I was convinced I had internal haemorrhoids 😬
I thought I had worms and took worming tablets! I was just about to move into haemorrhoid treatment as those were the two causes of an itchy bum every time I read up on it.

If I had young kids in the house I’d have thought the same. thankfully my youngest is almost 18 and the only one left at home.
Can’t believe I’ve gone through 2! Full boxes of pessarys the past 2 months before finding this out 🫣🤣 peri menopause is sending me crackers lol

Following my last appointment at the GP, I've just looked at my NHS app at the GP notes and the GP has put.. 'Patient thinks she's in perimenopause. Patient is only 44 so much more likely to be an anxiety disorder'. WTF.. I'm well within the age range to be perimenopausal. Also, I was finally prescribed HRT so why was I put on that if the GP thinks it's just anxiety. Gosh, I hate my GP surgery so much. Happy to say though that all my perimenopausal symptoms are so minimal now and I've told my husband I no longer want a divorce!! I thought I was going mad and that I didn't love him anymore when it was just this perimenopausal rage making me hate everyone and everything!!

Hi lovely ladies

So I started HRT about a month ago now, 1 pump, and progesterone 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Now on my off phase and period starting again boo.

Brain fog still very apparent, and unsure whether I actually feel any better, sleep still same etc.

When do I know when I should increase to 2 pumps? Shall I leave it a little longer?

thank you :) xx

I would move up a dose, 1 pump is considered quite a low dose, so moving to 2 pumps isn't too big a move.

I would definitely give it a go. Good luck. X

I'm really struggling. I'm 44 so definitely in perimenopause. I feel so down on myself, and just angry all the time. I suffer from depression anyway and other mental health issues but they are getting worse with the peri. Partner isn't very supportive. Just tells me to control my emotions and deal with it

I empathise. Same here with depression and anxiety anyway.

If only we could!

Have you been to Gp?

If they have added notes which are factually inaccurate or personally disparaging, you should complain to the practice and have the notes amended.

MrLily had an appointment with a locum GP, when we were looking for info on something else, we accidentally discovered the notes section. The GP had put some particularly unpleasant personal comments. We complained, they apologised and the records were amended.
