Thank you for this. My grandma sadly passed away from complications arising from uterine cancer. She bled for years in her 70s but was too ashamed to tell anyone and it was my mum who figured it out when she was having problems in the loo. By that point it was too late. Hopefully, my mum’s generation (although I’m battling with her about a UTI at the moment 😫) and ours are more open and we can prevent similar things from happening. 💔
So sorry to hear about your Grandma xx but yes I know what you mean, my Mum is in her late 70’s and won’t visit the doctors for anything and always suffers in silence until I manage to get her to tell me!

My mum is in her mid 70s, I thought she would have learnt her lesson after what happened with her mum, but it seems not. We had a proper near miss 18 months ago because she refused to go to hospital and this UTI is now out of control because she said she’d rather feel the symptoms of that than the nausea from the antibiotics. I don’t know what to do 😔.

Could you ring her GP or chat to pharmacist about whether anti sickness meds are an option alongside the antibiotics? Even a different antibiotics might be an option.
(I'm the worst in the world for going to GP and for advocating for myself when I do tbh. I find it much easier to intervene for my mum etc but then suffer away myself like an eejit)

Why don't you tell him what you've just told us and see what he says? Once he realises how you feel, he'll probably be happy to keep letting you know he loves you.
I did tell him between the tears a couple of weeks ago. I said I think I need a bit more touchy feely and a bit more input from him and it would make me feel better.

To be fair he has been more attentive, like I say he’s given me absolutely no reason to think otherwise. I have these intrusive thoughts that I’m going to be left on my own or he’s thinking about divorce or that he may be attracted to someone younger. I feel a bit unhinged at times. I’ve not told him that bit though 😔

Unfortunately when I tried to help earlier in the week, I got it from both ends (my mum and dad both telling me to butt out). I live over 5 hours away so a remote phone call to her GP would probably have ended in me being disowned as their daughter.

To add insult to injury, the mid cycle (day 18) hell has arrived today. Bloating, anxiety, feeling like a failure.

To those saying they help, I’m not eligible and I have all those symptoms you are saying are being alleviated. It can’t be simply about losing weight.

Thank you! My problem is mostly inside the nostrils unfortunately 😕 but I will definitely try that around the outside.
I use an Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm on my nose when it cracks. I struggle with allergies and am constantly wiping my nose and the skin on the edge of my nostrils splits. It heals overnight with the 8 hour balm, but I have used Vaseline too.

Thank you! Yes seasonal allergies are part of my problem too - I bought vaseline this morning and actually used 8 hour protectant on it first thing when I woke up as it has helped a bit in the past.

Finally went to see my GP and she recommended trying a low dosage of Oestradiol patches, but told me to have a think about it before she prescribe it.

Has anyone tried it?

Not tried any patches, but thinking of going back to the GP and seeing if they are appropriate yet.
I cannot stop itching and I'm getting scratch marks.

I've developed insomnia over the last few weeks.Im not sure if it's hormones or if it's anxiety related, I have a lot coming up that is challenging to me. I feel wired all the time and my mind won't switch off. My heart keeps racing

I was prescribed melatonin to help with the sleep issues, have anxiety medication, HRT patches and progesterone tablets. Sounds a lot but has helped massively. Please make an appointment with whoever is a menopause specialist at your surgery.

I started taking Magnesium Glycinate a month ago after a recommendation on here. My moods, anxiety and sleep have definitely improved xxx

Does anyone use Ancient & Brave Collagen? I ordered their True Collagen a little over a week ago and their Nightcap. Not sure if it's in my head but I'm finding I'm not quite as shattered in the mornings as I have been and I'm getting back to sleep quicker from my 3am random wake-ups.

Have you found that this upsets your tummy in any way? I’m a bit wary of taking citrate.
I bought the one that isn’t supposed to upset your stomach (magnesium glycinate?) and still had an upset stomach. Wasn’t brave enough to take them after that! I’ve now decided to buy some from Superdrug - the Vitabotics brand, which is magnesium hydroxide. Fingers crossed 😬

You’re supposed to take two per day so I might start with one and see how it goes.
