I bought the one that isn’t supposed to upset your stomach (magnesium glycinate?) and still had an upset stomach. Wasn’t brave enough to take them after that! I’ve now decided to buy some from Superdrug - the Vitabotics brand, which is magnesium hydroxide. Fingers crossed 😬

You’re supposed to take two per day so I might start with one and see how it goes.
I was advised to take one after my evening meal and one before bed and I have had no issues with my tummy 🫶

I was prescribed melatonin to help with the sleep issues, have anxiety medication, HRT patches and progesterone tablets. Sounds a lot but has helped massively. Please make an appointment with whoever is a menopause specialist at your surgery.
I started taking Magnesium Glycinate a month ago after a recommendation on here. My moods, anxiety and sleep have definitely improved xxx
I do have a lot on my mind so that may relate to the not sleeping/ racing heart as I find it stressful. It may not be any more than that , once this is sorted, it may go.

I think I' ll look into Magnesium Glycinate.

Does anyone use Ancient & Brave Collagen? I ordered their True Collagen a little over a week ago and their Nightcap. Not sure if it's in my head but I'm finding I'm not quite as shattered in the mornings as I have been and I'm getting back to sleep quicker from my 3am random wake-ups.
Ive been using it for 6 months or so now and havent noticed an improvement in my sleep (sadly), but my hair is better than ever!

Hello everyone, I am late 30s but have been struggling with various symptoms in the past year or so and my GP suggested after running numerous tests for other stuff that it could be perimenopause so is keen for me to try HRT which I figure may as well give a go...she mentioned gel and to consider the coil, but I don't want the coil as I get really freaked out about having something in me that I cant remove myself although probably sounds weird! Did anyone opt for the pill instead? Have an app next week and there's almost too much info online to know what I want to go into the appointment and ask about 😂

Anyone found that their tolerance to alcohol has changed? Also this cycle, I've had a week of occasional like once a day light spotting and nothing else 🤷‍♀️ - it's driving me mad!

I feel like I've aged more in the past year, than my previous 47 years. I would have considered myself reasonably fit for my age and weight. But practically over night, I've turned into an auld one. My first symptom was waking up at 3 am and not getting back to sleep. This started about 6 years ago. I didn't realize at the time it was probably peri. Then I noticed I smell. Now it's the bad moods. And the aches and pains are agonizing. I have an appointment at a menopause clinic. I hate blood tests. But I can't go on like this.

They couldn’t get a coil in me! I’m on the mini pill and have been told I’ll be on it until I’m 55ish

Have you found meds have made a difference if you don't mind me asking? Yeah something about the coil just makes me close up, I can see why theyre preferred as its targeted so fewer side effects but its not for me!

This!! I used to get an amazing sleep when drinking but now im so restless and get very little sleep. I actually avoid drinking at all now as the hangovers are too much! Doesn't matter if I have 1 drink or 10, will still feel terrible

I’ve been on the mini pill for years for contraception (no longer a worry), the HRT patches and progesterone tablets along with Propranolol and Melatonin have made a difference and I’d never consider coming off any unless I have to!

Yes! Massively restless and I get so dehydrated. I now take a hydration supplement daily and it’s made a big difference to my general wellbeing but I have to accept my massive boozy days are behind me.

Apparently as we age, our body doesn’t process alcohol in the same way so it sits in our bodies making us feel like tit!

The fatigue after drinking lasts for days! How I long for partying all night and going straight to work! I could never now.

Milk thistle may help you.

if I was to drink something like vodka with a fizzy drink my sleep would be terrible but I only drink red wine generally and that’s fine.

My alcohol tolerance has never been great, but it fell off a cliff when I was in my early 30s. I only have the odd drink if I'm out, or a glass of wine with dinner now.

My cycle this month has been 21 days. Two periods in a month. Longing for the actual meno.
