Just found this thread, going to have a scan through because I’m struggling really bad with my moods and sadness… I was taking Health and Her supplements for nearly 6 months with no noticeable difference and then changed to wild nutrition perimenopause complex supplements and still no change 😢
Can anyone recommend any supplements that have helped? TIA

Please can i have some validation. Ive gone from a hot flash here and there perhaps once a week to about 10 today out of nowhere. Im sweaty and bothered and so bloody hot. Also vertigo all week. Im in hell.
Try sage capsules they took a few weeks to work with me, but now I don’t have any face flushes. Was in black cohosh but they’ve stopped working

Why’s that? It’s my go to for all my perimenopause aches and pains! I’ve googled but can not see an issue 🤷‍♀️
Tbh, my meno brain won’t let me remember! It was one time I went to a walk in centre in my 40’s and she asked how often I was taking it and said you need to be careful in your 40’s. I’ve just googled it and it says it can cause stomach ulcers.

I take omeprazole if I’m taking ibuprofen

I had an absolutely monstrous hot flush over the weekend that lasted about an hour. Someone actually gave me a hand fan because I was overheating that badly. I can recommend John Lewis branded hand fans.

I always feel like ibuprofen is on the strong side for a painkiller (not in the same league as codeine obviously) so I’d be wary of taking it every night. Maybe an antihistamine might help?

I’d recommend getting bloods done and see what you need from there. I know supplements help some people but a lot are a con too. My doc says it’s best to supplement what you lack and go from there. Lots taking advantage of the current “ interest ” in peri / meno etc. I take calcium and D3 and they are cheap as chips. Ferritin when I need. Best of luck x

Thank you so much for your advice. I never thought about the supplements being a con! Makes sense really like you say since all the talk of perimenopause etc.. I’ll stop wasting my money I think and “try” and get proper medical advice. Thank you ☺

Well I’m a month post menopause and I’m still getting hot flushes. I’m hoping it’s just the warm weather but they seem to happen every evening about 9pm. I will be sitting on the sofa and I have to move off because I can’t bear the heat rising from my back against the sofa cushions and I get so sweaty. It lasts for about 10-20 minutes and then goes.

A nice new development to the list is polymorphic light eruption which is like the evil sister of prickly heat. On day one on holiday I came out with what looks like tiny chicken pox blisters from the sun, despite sitting in the shade. GP said it can come on during menopause. Yay.

Anyone else taking magnesium? I've just ordered myself some (it's a mix) in the hope it helps with my sleep and other issues. If you're taking it, how have you been finding it, and how long did it take for results to start showing?
