I am going to see my doctor today but ...

Has anyone's face become tingly and partially paralysed? Mine comes and goes and switches sides. Could be the left, the right, my upper lip. My face hasn't dropped.

I am going through a lot of stress at the minute. I'm having to look after my elderly abusive father who is days/weeks from dying. There is a lot more that I can't type here

I'm not taking HRT because my mum had breast cancer. I was only prescribed antidepressants which haven't helped at all.
I have had a lot of facial tingling in peri it is caused by declining estrogen.

But I also suffer with health anxiety and facial tingling and a numb feeling is caused by anxiety and stress. I used to get it a lot when my anxiety was bad. I always felt like my face had numb patches and at the tingling like yours would be in all different areas.

I can’t recall a tingly face so it’s good you’re getting it checked out.
I’m sorry about your father, that’s a huge thing to deal with.

I’ve now been post menopausal for one whole month (yay!) and I got through 7 years (I think) of peri without HRT so it can be done without taking it.

Take care xx

Thank-you for the love and your kind words. My face had dropped but I was too blinkered to realise. Turns out that I have Bell's Palsy. Joyous! Glad it is that and not a stroke. I'm hoping that it clears up soon xx

I had my ultrasound on Thursday. To be fair, I was referred early June, had my letter Saturday, rang Monday, scan Thursday. Everything was fine, little bumpy outside (apparently common especially if have had children).
They wrote the results up whilst I was getting dressed, agreed it's likely to be peri/menopausal. Have to go back to the GP and they both recommended magnesium before bed!
I just want my brain fog to clear. I've been on ADHD medication for 6 years, and well it's great fun some days, when nothing is working

I don't know whether this might be of any use?

have you tried lions mane? Definitely makes a difference here - autistic probable adhd brain and peri - I stopped taking it for a while and really noticed I was struggling to find my words a lot more

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the whole high protein strength training malarkey may have something to it - am about a month in and I feel so much better for it. My clothes feel they are fitting better too.

Can’t for once donuts be the magic cure 🙄

That’s fab.❤. Every time I hear a win, it’s like a little boost 😊.

I’m just here, lifting, eating cottage cheese, feeling like a balloon has been dug out of the ground. I’ll carry on though because I know it’s doing me good and giant buttons aren’t. 😔🙃.

I keep reading about this, tbh I'm not even sure where to start with it. I do have my annual review with my psychiatrist in a few weeks. I'm meant to be trying to cycle my medication as estrogen influences how stimulants works (particularly the one I'm on) but it's hard when your cycle is all over the place

My mil is insisting I start to take 1000 strength evening primrose immediately since iv mentioned im in early menopause.

iv not done much research yet into what supplements are good for symptoms or how they interact with meds/hrt So don’t yet have any opinions properly yet and while I’m open minded on the subject my feeling is that most supplements could maybe be helpful but none will be a miracle cure.
but she has mentioned it about 10 times in the last few interactions with me or my partner etc and is acting like it will instantly cure me of everything iv ever had and will prevent all future ailments 😂 she’s being VERY pushy about it!

she’s very sweet though and it all comes from love, I am quite lucky I know that I have (a sometimes mildly annoying) mil who is nice and I get on with. I love her to bits to be honest.

I had painful breasts in peri so I took evening primrose oil. I also heard it was good for night sweats and I took it for that too but can’t say I noticed much of a difference.

This is what I’m doing and although it’s not noticeable yet to other I can see it on myself - my waste is thinner looking, and can see it on my boobs as well. I’ve a long way to go but going to stick with what I’m doing

339 days without a period, I'm now wiping fresh blood. I've had to change my HRT dosage so I'm hoping that its a breakthrough bleed.

It wasn’t my experience of peri but we’re all different. Have you got fibroids?
I don't think so, although it's a few years since I last had an internal ultrasound, but everything was ok, other than PCOS.

My smears are always fine so I don't think there's anything sinister to worry about there either.

It does seemed to have calmed down again this evening to a very light spotting so I'm going to just keep an eye on it for now.
