I’m doing ok on the wrinkle front but my face is sliding off. Some time last summer my neck went and now, when I’m tired, I look like I have a tina on my neck.

I’ve been doing well with cutting back, exercising etc had lost 5lbs. According to my period tracker app my period should be due now. (My last period was 2 months ago) I’ve got all the bloatedness and my boobs looks huge but yet no period just the pms symptoms has anyone else had this. According to scales I’ve put the 5lb back on which I could cry about as it’s taking ages for the weight to come off.
Well done! Don't panic and reach for the naughty treats just yet, it'll more than likely be water retention. You have to over eat by 3500 cals just to put 1 lb on. Drink plenty of water and hopefully you'll see it drop again (the heat doesn't help, either).

Apologies if this has been discussed before, but have any of you upped your own hrt patch?
I am on 50 sequi, and noticed that the symptoms have started to reappear. I read that 50 is the highest dose for sequi (I still have periods so need Pegrostren). I have read that people cut a patch in half, and wear 1.5 together, therefore upping there dose from 50 to 75. Do any of you have experience with this? I can't get an appointment for a few weeks and need to try something!

Have you heard us all?
Going by our descriptions, if we met up, I’d be expecting a bunch of large, old, female Quasimodos! 😆

**said in my best Mel Gibson Braveheart voice… “They can take away our flat stomachs and wrinkle free faces but the can’t take away our humour!”

I can look in the mirror and think I look quite nice and fairly youthful, then I'll see a photo of me and want to 🤮🤮🤮
Omg same here. I'm so cross with myself as my OH keeps asking if I want photos taken with my small grandchildren. I always say no as seeing the photos ruins my memory of the lovely time I've had with them. I genuinely don't think I'm that vain until I see photos or catch mirrors in shops and I just look so old and large. And then feel deluded and sad that I've made an effort to look nice. I know some of it is due to the menopausal head duck. I've genuinely forgotten the feeling of looking in a full length mirror and being happy.

Jellybean, the photos are for them as they love you and love looking at you!

Gp has told me off for taking too much progesterone. I take 2 capsules every day, it helps me sleep and function better. I hate the 2 weeks off, 2 weeks on malarkey. I'm about a week away from being a year free of periods too.

I hate progesterone, I’d have been happy with a small dose of est and no prog. Isn’t it crazy how different we all are and the options are so very limited for hrt

GPs shouldn’t be telling anyone off. We do our best with what we are given. As Grifty says we all have different experiences and different responses to the hormones, they shouldn’t be chastising you like a child.

Hi all, new to the thread, am mid 40s, regular periods (though a lot shorter cycle since having my last child). In the last couple of years I've found my PMT absolutely unbearable. My anxiety goes through the roof, I feel very emotional and irritable. Starts 7 days before my period & gets progressively worse until the day of my period, when it literally vanishes. Anyone else experienced this (apologies if this has been addressed before). If so, any treatment suggestions? Thanks.

I don’t really know about my periods as I think the progesterone sometimes but also sometimes doesn’t trigger a bleed. I have the implant in And one of the side affects of that is quite often it changes the pattern of a woman’s bleeding.

im having random very light bleeds but not regularly and don’t know if the implant is the reason potentially and I would be more regular if it wasn’t in or if I have actually stopped (or almost) stopped bleeding naturally but the progesterone is causing the bleeding.
also take all of that away and the lack of regular periods was one of the reasons I knew I was peri even though I was only in my early 30’s (ended up being diagnosed with premature ovarian insufficiency or more commonly known early menopause)

in conclusion I have no idea if I am regular or coming to the end of my periods or what!

Well my period turned up this week after 90 odd days and it was still really light. Was talking to my mum about it and she said she was finished by 48, which is quite young isn’t it? I’m coming up to 45.

It’s common to copy the same pattern as our mothers. I’ve had a late menopause which is same as my Mum.

The average age is 51 but it can definitely happen in your 40’s or late 50’s.

I am going to see my doctor today but ...

Has anyone's face become tingly and partially paralysed? Mine comes and goes and switches sides. Could be the left, the right, my upper lip. My face hasn't dropped.

I am going through a lot of stress at the minute. I'm having to look after my elderly abusive father who is days/weeks from dying. There is a lot more that I can't type here

I'm not taking HRT because my mum had breast cancer. I was only prescribed antidepressants which haven't helped at all.

So sorry you are going through this. Is there social/palliative care that you can access to help?

Sounds like it will likely be stress related. Be super gentle with yourself and get as much help as you can. A hospice? Charity? Sending love and strength.
