Vit D gurus, is there anything I can take to help with absorption? I'm taking a high dosage supplement but still coming out as Vit D deficient in blood tests (and therefore being sent a factsheet on eating more eggs by the practice nurse 🙄).
It might just take time. I got mine up from 13 to 90 but it took months and months of supplementing. Make sure it has k2 or you’re setting yourself up for calcium in your arteries. And is yours in oil? That helps too.

One thing that really gets me in the menopause space are women who are grumbling about being a size 10 instead of an 8 and not being such a sexual draw to men as they were when they were younger then talking about how empowering it is to not constantly worry about what people think of you and whether you're enough. I was never a size 8, don't care what people think and am quite glad male attention has faded but I still have rally annoying symptoms.

If the only thing someone has going for them is a size eight label in their jeans I feel sorry for them, and largely, men will bag anyone.

Solidarity. Everything makes me cry lately but I have been having a breakdown. Be as kind as you can to yourself, eat some protein, take some vitamin d and try and break it down, what can you change now that will make a difference? If nothing, duck it and try and dump it in a mental box.

I have to say my anxiety is through the roof at the moment. I have a brief respite while I am actually asleep but my dreams are terrible so not really a respite.

It’s so bad that I can’t even exercise (which normally helps). Running sets my mind on edge and I’m too impatient at the moment to do anything else. I’m driving my wife crazy and I can’t concentrate on anything.

I know a key peri symptom is anxiety but if you are the type of person who has their brain go to the worst case scenario all the time, what are you meant to do when peri hits?

Sending good thoughts to those who are also suffering and not in the best place right now. ❤

The anxiety is tit, everything is heightened. I now have a foot ball sized knot in my stomach at times compared to the usual tennis ball

I find myself worrying if I'm not worrying 😕

Rhodiola rosea? It helps reduce cortisol, which helps with middle large too - which I certainly welcome help
With! I recently tried shilajit and mushroom capsules too and I think they were making me very calm. I’ll take some tomorrow as I’ve been forgetting.

yes a football sized knot in my stomach for the past week (I do think the US election hasn’t helped that). I’ve always had anxiety but it’s been under control for ages so this must be due to the bloody hormones.

I have been like this lately, albeit I've had a tit load of stress personally. I'm normally quite balanced, but I've had This awful knot in my stomach (anxiety) and just felt totally out of control. Not a nice feeling. Has anyone experienced loss of appetite as well? I find myself Feeling sick cos I must be hungry (not hunger as such), then having to force myself to eat something ! I'm going crazy aren't I 🤣🙈

Well I'm 64, I've been bleeding on and off for six weeks now - and having very bad period-like pains. I never experienced any menopause symptoms but presumed I'd gone through it as my periods did stop, aside from a bit of bleeding here and there (usually if I spent a lot of time with my daughter while she was on her period, it seemed to 'give' me one).

I'm going for a biopsy on 5 December - it was meant to be Monday but the NHS have pushed it back. I have to say I'm really quite scared and hope nothing is wrong with me.

you're not crazy, not at all

I still dunno if my latest stomach problems are due to meno or just my months of sick leave due to anxiety and depression, but stress/anxiety/depression really ducks up your digestive system and it just ruins everything 😔

I also feel like this. Definitely think it’s peri affecting depression, stress and worsening ADD symptoms. I don’t feel hungry very often and have no motivation to make or buy food. If I do sit down to eat though I can eat so must be hungry just without feeling it. I have to eat to schedule otherwise I’d live on chocolate and biscuits!

Sending hugs to everyone on this rollercoaster! At least these days we have more knowledge and grounding in what all these crazy symptoms are and we’re not just dismissed.

This is totally me. I love cooking , but no motivation to do it / eat it . I've been buying a few ready meals here and there just to make sure I have something that requires no effort!.
This thread is great isn't it , cos I would definitely be on Google- 'lack of appetite ' and end up diagnosing myself with all sorts🤣.

Anyone experiencing sore hips and joints while they are sleeping, to the extent that it’s wakening you up and you can’t get back to sleep? If so any suggestions what to try to help get a better sleep

Are you on HRT? I was suffering with pains like this in bed and since going on HRT it has helped.
