I’ve heard bloods are unreliable as they can fluctuate so much. I’m a believer that we know our own bodies and when something isn’t right. Hopefully things improve for us 🤞I tried the same patches about 3 years ago and had some unpleasant side effects, but I think my own hormone levels were too high at that point and I wasn’t ready for it.
I was kind of thinking that I started this today and the earliest day I can go for bloods because of work is Thursday, so by then it’ll be in my system and presumably won’t give an accurate reading? Who knows…

I’m not sure how quickly it impacts blood hormone levels, but would imagine it doesn’t take long. You’re lucky to be able to get a blood test so quickly - I booked mine 5 weeks ago and this was the earliest I could get!

51 in a few weeks. 3 months without period and it came yesterday.
all my life I’ve had unbearable pmt. To the point where I was normal one week a month. Holidays were booked when I was on my period as that was better than the pmt.
just want it all over. But peri menopause is almost a relief as nothing could be as bad

51 weeks without a period? I would just lie and say a year to the Dr.

So sorry, I miss read!
I need to sleep!

Sorry but it’s scientifically impossible that you are gaining weight by not eating enough. This is a very old myth (also things like “starvation mode”). If you are genuinely every single day without fail only eating 1000 calories and not losing weight, you need to go to the dr because something is very wrong. More likely, some days you are eating that and others you are eating at maintenance or over. And moving less than you used to when younger.
Personally I find if I don’t eat enough I don’t have energy to move much, which is maybe a consideration. I know after my second child I ate like I was a hollow tube, but when I got too exhausted around month 8 to look after myself well I stopped producing enough milk and gained weight even though I barely ate. So in that case I would say not eating enough caused my weight gain. However, I doubt any of us are breastfeeding and Perimenopausal

Just commenting really on the appetite stuff people have mentioned on here. I literally could just eat breakfast and lunch and skip tea (dinner) . I have to literally force myself to eat at nite (sometimes just a sandwich) , but it seems this could be part of this bloody PeriM!! There are so many symptoms aren't there?. These threads are a bloody godsend, cos I literally feel like I'm going mad sometimes 🤣

That’s the ones I’ve just been prescribed today, too.
I finished my period last week then it came back for and went away again so they took my last period as being Saturday. She didn’t say when I could or couldn’t take it and just said I should start to feel clearer quite quickly so I stuck it on my thigh at lunchtime.
have to go for bloods on Thursday as I’m a few months short of 45. Either way she was happy to prescribe this to me. Trying to act like I’m not pinning my hopes on it, but I am…
FYI, on your bum sticks better. I’ve had a nightmare with the sequi patches, sometimes they come nearly off after a few hours. Since I switched to bum only they’re better. It’s funny because one side of my body sticks better than the other on my legs 🤔

if you’re just short of 45 I don’t see why if you find the patches helpful they would take them away. I’m 47 but I feel like I was only 44 when I asked, but I’d have to check as the meno memory thing is real 😬

Been prescribed Everol Sequi patches due to peri symptoms. I’m 41, but early menopause is in the family. I haven’t had a period for 46 days now (usually they average around every 25 days). Am I ok to start the patches anytime, or do I need to wait for my next period to start? I have a blood test to check hormone levels this Friday, so want to wait until after then as the patches will affect the result.
You can start them right away. It’s the utrogestan ( or similar progesterone HRT) that will depend on your cycle on when you start.

I hope they help! They’ve changed my life for the better, I’m about 3.5 months in.

My bloods were normal. I’m still in peri and need HRT.

Someone mentioned Menopause Matters forum which I used to read a lot and what you have written was very common on there and all peri related which does cause brain fog.

Also I think I recall you having broken sleep? This causes what you have described.

I’m touching wood but after months of night sweats and sleepless nights I seem to have come out the other side and my memory is so much better and my brain fog has lifted and I feel so much better from not having broken sleep.
Thank you.
Yes insomnia for the past 3 and a half years.
I usually manage 4 or 5 hours of broken sleep a night. It’s exhausting.
I long for 8 hours - how I miss those nights.

Thanks, I know the patches for the second half of the cycle contain progestogen which is why I was wondering…glad they have helped you so much 😊

Top tip for patches which took me weeks to realise.
Set an alarm on your phone to go off on the days you change them.
Having brain fog and a twice weekly ritual I need that alarm. 😩🫣

Lack of sleep is terrible and causes all sorts of issues.

Maybe I’m being naive. I haven’t had blood taken for years and not since I’ve been registered at this surgery; going on past experience the phlebotomy was just pop in and take a ticket. I might be sorely mistaken, will report back when I call them tomorrow to see if I have a long wait ahead!

Mine used to be like that but I haven't been for a few years and was advised last week that it's now by appointment only and there's a two week waiting list!

Thanks. You've just reminded me!!

Sleeping during these hot nights when you’re suffering from peri hot flushes is horrendous! Lost count how many times I woke up last night feeling like my body was on fire. I’m lucky I don’t actually sweat, but that feeling of not being able to cool down is awful 🥵 Very tired and headache today due to lack of sleep.

I was on fire in work today. I came home (walking took twice as long because I was so hot) and now I am on the floor, melting. I’m dreading tonight.

Had my hystoscopy today with biopsies and Levosert coil inserted. The surgeon said everything looks really good and healthy. It was uncomfortable but not horrendous. The pain seems to completely have gone now. Hopefully it’ll help the vile heavy bleeding.

I find placing something cold on the centre of my chest really helps cool my whole body down at night. I've tried various cooling pads but my favourite is a small hot water bottle filled with cold tap water
