I’ve literally tried everything for sleeping. Even Zopiclone doesn’t work. I too bought melatonin from the US and it didn’t work. I absolutely swear by CBD. I take a lot. It doesn’t always make me sleep but does shut my brain up.

Do you take the gummies ?

No, I drink Goodrays drinks 1 before bed (they can be very pricy) but better than some I’ve tried. I also take the oil. I take 6000mg oil. I buy from Ecopharmahealthcare or Supreme CBD. I found the gummies crap.

Walmart has every type of Melatonin you could possibly wish for. It's quite simply the best place on earth 😂😂😂😂
Weirdly, last time I was in the US, I decided to go and stock up rather than mail order as I normally do, and I found to buy the 5mg I take in Walmart was more expensive than having them sent directly, so I didn't bother. Might depend on State though, this was California, Arizona and Nevada stores.
Sold in pharmacies in France as well, but again more expensive than ordering online.

Bloody love Walmart though! I could spend a whole day in there 😂

I picked up Melatonin in the US a few years ago when I struggled to sleep and have taken it ever since. Must say I rarely struggle now. I take one 5mg tablet about half an hour before and i'm straight out.
No idea why it's prescription only in the UK, but I've been buying mine from Piping Rock in the USA for several years now.
Thank you. Just ordered from Piping Rock.

Well I went for my 1st scan of the week this morning, I got myself all worked up for no reason. I had a very young male sonographer and he was absolutely lovely, he looked at the top half of my stomach and all looks good except I have a few stones in my gallbladder. Well they're causing me no bother so I will worry about them another time.

I went to my GP after 4 months of continuous bleeding....god knows why I had my liver, lungs and gallbladder scanned but I will trust the process 😂

My transvaginal scan is on Friday and I'm dreading it completely, not so much the process but I'm really very worried about what they might find 😔

Anyway we shall cross that bridge when we come to it!
Please do get the gallstones checked out at some point - they're the most common cause of pancreatitis and, believe me, you absolutely don't want that level of pain in your life.

Thank you. Just ordered from Piping Rock.
hope they work for you.
Another tip is to use them when flying long haul to get back into sleeping pattern.

In other peri news I’ve now gone 6 months with an exact 28 day cycle according to Apple Health, so whatever is going on it doesn’t look like like my periods are stopping any time soon.

Could I ask how much piping rock charged you for postage ?
Hi
Postage was £4.69. I bought 2 lots and the total cost was just under £30.

hope they work for you.

Oh I wish I had known this. I've flew back from Asia 2 weeks ago, and still falling asleep at 9pm and wide awake at 3am.
Have travelled loads, but never experienced anything like this!

Can I ask exactly what effect the melotonin has on you? Does your mind switch off and then you drift off? Do you stay asleep for a few hours? Any side effects?

Can you tell I'm desperate to sleep ! 😂

It's relaxing and will aid you falling asleep but won't keep you asleep.

My son has SN and was prescribed it a year or so ago, it gave him the people. So I had it instead 😂😂

For the price of the one posted earlier its worth a try for you?

I've been prescribed Amitriptyline for pain and that really is helping me sleep at the moment (only had it for a few nights though)

I was given Amitryptiline years ago. I have a joint condition and can struggle overnight. I literally became a zombie on it. I couldn’t function before 11am and felt in a fog constantly. With discussion this was replaced by nortryptiline which wasnt really any better for me. Eventually I had to come off it as I couldn’t cope. Not long after that I started taking the melatonin.

it doesn’t always keep me asleep, I still find myself waking up in pain at 3am, but it does make me go extremely sleepy within an hour of taking it. on a good night I’ll then sleep right through, On a pain night I will wake up but find I can nod off again quite quickly. I don’t get the groggy, zombie feeling in the morning either.

Bloody hell that's interesting! What dose were you on?
I have had it previously because I have nerve damage and it really helped, I asked for it this time to help with all the pains but my GP was reluctant so I only have a small dose. (10mg)

I started at 25mg and eventually went down to 10mg but it really did affect me badly. It worked in the sense that I slept, but it really floored me. now I take the 5mg melatonin and prescription co codamol and I do sleep. A lot depends on what I’ve done in the day though. I have hyper mobility joint disorder and scoliosis, if I’ve used my hands a lot then that can wake me, sometimes my fingers will dislocate in my sleep which is always fun, or back pain when I turn. My initial doses mean I do nod straight off though so that does lessen the chance of me waking up.

My DD also took it for nerve damage (due to compressing a nerve through a dislocation as HMJD is hereditary) and she functioned a lot better with it than me. Whatever works for you I reckon. If you can sleep it’s half the battle as it’s miserable being tired all the time.

Just checking in with what I'm currently experiencing and just wondering if anyone else can relate?
I'm just over 40 and my GP will not even entertain the possibility that I'm peri-menopausal. I was handed a leaflet, detailing herbal medication that I could try but none of the suggestions have worked in the past 12 months.
So far these are the symptoms I'm experiencing that I feel are not so well known:
- insomnia on one specific night in the week
- one itchy armpit (yep, random)
- back of head sweats
- waking up thinking I can smell smoke
- one dry eye
- skin tags

Is anyone else having any of these?

I'm 41 and have been having all this except the skin tags since 2021. I'm also taking vitamins but I don't know if they're helping. I notice my symptoms are worse around ovulation, I track it just so I know when to expect these weird sensations but I don't have anything to help, just wanted you to know you're not alone x

Very interesting you saying you think you can smell smoke! This has been happening to me for a good while now... so I'm not actually going mental or having a supernatural experience.
