I don’t do Bradley’s classes, his face irritates me. I know people who have met him outside of the studio and said how lovely he is and I should give his classes a try. Also, isn’t he a cancer survivor too? Not that that makes someone ‘nice’ but it increases my respect level for them and their journey x

That’s one of the huge pluses for me, the fact the equipment is just there and you don’t have to fanny about getting ready, leaving the house, travelling, trying to find free equipment etc
Exactly. I coach cheerleading two nights a week just now and don't have time to go to the gym on those nights so just being able to do a quick spin when I've got some time would be ideal.

My other half has been on at me to buy a road bike for MONTHS and then get another turbo trainer for using it in the house (since he's taken his with him) but I really think I'd rather have the Peloton. Mainly because every cheap bike I suggest he says no to as he's a bike snob :ROFLMAO:

I've been a bike user on and off for a while now. Taken the plunge and ordered the tread, coming Friday. Space might be a bit tight but it will fit.
I was wondering how responsive it is. When I've done classes on other treadmills it seems to take ages to get to the set speed/incline but the Peloton looks like it responds quickly?

I do think some of the instructors are visibly uncomfortable with the obsession with them. Apparently Robin really doesn't like people approaching her in the wild
Agreed - some instructor & rider pics (esp in NY) look really awkward, like you’re told not to get too close.

I’ve done a couple of live studio rides in London with Leanne & Ben pre-covid and the opposite was true. They had the time for everyone - although obv the community has now massively grown & prob become a bit more stalkerish

I think if it was invite Octavia would’ve been there she’s there every week with her husband

Also, I think some people love to show off on IG and imply they’ve had an invite to something or been gifted something when they haven’t

With them being around for over ten years I don't think they'll just suddenly disappear, they'll be acquired by a software or sports brand like amazon, Nike or Adidas.

The pandemic defo made the old CEO go wild but how much more did he think they'd grow realistically? Me and my husband would never set foot in a gym again now we have the bike and tread - but we're fortunate enough to have a dedicated gym space in our house with weights, racks, bench etc so neither of us feel like we are missing anything from a commercial gym (and we hate other people!)

They've got a very dedicated subscriber base so they need to focus on them, which I think they are doing as they emailed me through the week saying I'm one of the top members, asking me to share my peloton story for their socials, a personal video off some instructors and a £100 apparel voucher!
Wow that’s great well done 👏

Oh really? I guess I know what workout I'm wanting and very quickly all the on demand stuff from trainers I like has already been done. But I'm not much of a spinner so only do that once or twice a week.

I don't know why they even have a meditation tab if there's only 2 classes a week.

So much competition, I'll be trying others as this feels like a brand with a lot of hot air.

That’s fair, I think that they’re trying to expand at the moment and get more content out there but it’s difficult with the number of people they can have in the studios and Covid. I’ve read on Reddit that they’re investing a lot of money into the platform so that it’s not so bike orientated

They've started ramping up the promo for their xbox kinect type thing, looks very underwhelming - mainly draws a box around you to track movement. Maybe it would be interesting a few times, but can't see many bothering long term or the device to help the company recover.

I imagine they're targeting people who can't afford a bike/tread and/or don't have the space for one at home, but you can easily do the yoga/Pilates/strength classes without this gadget, it doesn't really appeal to me. I don't want to see how stupid I look when I attempt Pilates moves haha!

£25/£30 a pop I think - on top of what you pay for the membership and equipment! And it feels like some people are there every week 🙄
that’s insane! nice to do for a one-off but not all the time surely.

I’ve done a couple of studio classes but that was back in 2019 when they were in the old Studio and they were free.

I do not have a Peloton bike but I just downloaded their app. You get 30 days free and then after it is only $12 a month. There is a whole host of workouts: barre, boot camp, running, spinning, HIIT, strength. It is great. I would never get the bike though. I like that some of the classes are live, the rest is saved.
