Aside from all the other very valid points raised about the book, I literally just don't get who it's for. Generally a book has to either be entertaining (ie you like the author's personality etc), educational (they're an expert in something) or both.

But Lou's seems like it will be neither?

I don't think she has a profile established enough to be separate from Rob, so I don't think people are buying it based on being bought into her personality. She's not an expert in parenting, she's just bumbling through like everyone else. And call me sceptical but if she does have 'tips' in it I think it will be things like 'a healthy snack station' which is fine but requires throwaway money.

Both Rob and Lou use the term 'solo parenting' a LOT. Which i think is so offensive so single parents.

I am married, if my husband is away with work then i am still married - I have the emotional support and the financial support and I know he is coming back. The difference is in my life is that my husband comes back and life continues the same - we both work, we have 1 holiday a year and I don't go away multiple times with girlfriends.

Rob and Lou go away EVERY school holiday - and no shade as we've said before - but don't come at me with your default parent bull.

It is not the same as if you are the partner of someone serving overseas or a long distance lorry driver or night-shift worker.

Its probably only relatable to footballers wives, wives of hedge fund managers and other women who don't have work because their husbands are very busy earning an ultra high salary living.

Yes, the “default” parent that in the last 12 months has gone to Center Parcs, Paris, Spain twice, Australia, Japan and the Maldives along with multiple gifted and special trips either with her mates, just her and Rob, and then as a family. As I said, he earns it so why not. But don’t then write a preachy book to help out the little people.

I’m not caught up to the podcast, I’m just listening to the one about the Bluey house not being boxed up- it was nice to hear Josh’s daughter saved up for her own Barbie Dreamhouse and gets to choose her brother a gift. He genuinely does seem like he’s got a really lovely family unit.

Part way through watching it…sorry, I know this is a ‘rave’ thread but Rob is an absolute wick. No interest in listening to what Josh says, unless it’s something he can tit on.
I’m not sure if it’s because he’s generally in a flat mood, or if it’s because we can see it, but it’s so obvious now.
On the plus side, I’m loving Josh’s new pod so I’ll still be able to listen to him.

It’s so hard because once you notice Rob picking at everything Josh does (and also Josh not really doing it back) you can’t unnotice it.

I was a bit 👀 when Rob was so flippant about Josh’s cat dying. I try not everyone is a pet person and it’s always seemed to me that Rob goes along with the pets because Lou wants them, whereas Josh seems to have genuine affection for his cat (now cats) and it seemed a bit harsh to be banding on about when the cat dies. Can’t imagine being like that with one of my friends, but I am very much a pet person (someone Rob would probably describe as dirty and disgusting)

Another boxer with something to promote on todays episode…instant skip.
I've just given it a chance after seeing positive comments on Spotify and it's not what I expected when I saw the name. I've not finished it yet but it's definitely more interesting than anticipated so far.

I skipped this episode too. I just can't be arsed because I'd say most of the sporting guests and definitely all the boxing guest episodes bore me to death.

Prince Naseem was a big part of my childhood as we were a bit of a boxing household, it was actually a very decent episode and Rob came out with some unusually insightful questions. Josh kind of took a back seat but it didn’t feel awkward for once!

Said it before but no interest in hearing Lou’s perspective on parenting as she has very few things going on that I can relate to, and so I don’t want to hear about how hard it is for her. Rob always having to give her nods (is it in case she gets angry?) about things like ‘poor Lou had to do all the packing for the Maldives’ ffs can he hear himself? Yes he was away busy and working before they went, but that was to fulfil contracts that make him a multimillionaire! Get a grip the lot of you, and also you don’t have to go away. I’m sure some of his and Lou’s permanent exhaustion would be resolved by actually staying home for a half term once in a while instead of constantly going on the hunt for new levels of jet lag. By the sounds of it his kids are chicken nuggets and chips kids who moan about everything, so why do they need to traverse the globe every six weeks? I say this as someone who travels a lot with my kids, I wouldn’t do his level of travel even if I won the lottery, you can’t enjoy it and soak it in at the rate they do it and they’re always knackered.

I couldn’t believe it when he said how easy it is being on a holiday with a 10 and 8 year old 😳 Isn’t one of the girls still unable to sleep on her own at night most of the time? 🤔 That’s not easy by any stretch. He might be right, enjoy these years because from what little we know about his daughters, I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up running rings around their parents as the teenage stage approaches. Now that’s a podcast I want to hear 😂

I’ll listen more intently when his are bratting about, threatening to leave home and Josh’s daughter of a similar age is babysitting her brother while decorating the house with her mum 🤣

I've seen the film, it's brilliant and shows both sides of the story really well. It's a lot more than just a boxing movie and it captures that era perfectly

It’s one of those things where I know I’m going to like it, so I want to be in peace when I watch it so I can savour it. I though Naseem came across really cool and humble, in such contrast to his flying carpet days, I’m looking forward to the wider perspective. His family sounds lovely. He sounded like he really savoured and appreciated the money he made and what it meant for his family and the experiences they got to have travelling etc. Rob needs to pay attention!

Omg this! “Poor Lou packing…” really?! Oh what a terrible life she leads. 👀 He’s really lost touch, I feel like he’s scared of upsetting her - god knows what their house must be like. I absolutely love Josh - I feel like his vulnerability is so admirable and genuine, I’m going to give his new podcast a listen whereas I’m already ready to skip the episode where they’re going to inevitably give Lou her 15 mins. Get a working mum/dad on who’s partner is in the armed forces/works away - let’s have a reality check shall we? Don’t even get me started on the whole ‘the staff couldn’t find a Christmas tree for our room’ are you bleeping kidding me?! Sorry, rant over 😂

I wonder if Lou acknowledges Rob’s role as much as he acknowledges hers. I get it was his 40th and he wanted it to be special, but he could’ve packed his own suitcase surely? 🤣

Rob and Lou's girls really do sound so spoilt don't they?! Good luck to them with the teenage years! Carrying around a bag of Labubus to offer as bribes won't cut it!!
