Just a quick question, have you changed to watching rather than listening to the pod? It suits me to listen when I walk the dog, but now I feel like I’m missing out by not watching. Anyone else? Am I missing anything?
To me, podcasts are for listening- I have enough to watch but podcasts can be there whilst driving, walking, in a cafe, anywhere where I’m alone but in public. I know what you mean, hope they don’t reference all the visuals all the time

Rob said he hated trying new things & then when Josh just tried to say that’s what’s so different about them in a good way, because he always wants to try something new and challenging
Rob then got all defensive about how it’s actually because he does soooo many new things on Rob & Romesh - I’m surprised it was kept on it was an awkward listen

I quite like it when my husband is away, I watch what I want on TV, cook things he's not keen on and to be fair I get a better night's sleep as well. It is nice when he comes home in time to do the bins though.

Rob has been replying to people on the Strictly announcement post. He’s probably happy there’s easy Pod content now 😆. I really like Josh so hope it goes well for him. View attachment 3997172View attachment 3997173
I love Rob !!!! Go for it !! Why should people be allowed to say horrible things about him . I’d defend my mate

I’m certain Rob is doing this because he loves Josh and feels genuine annoyance at the comments , not for any other reason

Had a listen to Josh's separate podcasts and it is lovely to listen to him being enthusiastic about a subject and get to fully explore it. Still enjoy the Parenting Hell podcast, but didn't realise how much Rob takes over a conversation until I listened to Josh with someone else on a podcast. I agree with a previous post that Rob seems to know his place with Rom, and Rom & Josh are both quite chilled in their demeanor, but Rob appears to respect Rom's opinion more.

The absolute audacity of Rob calling Josh smug, when this is all he’s been pushing from him since he moved himself 🤣 I give it til Christmas for Josh to decide he doesn’t like the commute into London all the time 🤣

Each to their own when it comes to a holiday too. Everyone works hard and if that's the kind of holiday he wants why not. My husband is a lay by the pool person and I'd rather be off exploring. A holiday should be about doing it the way you want to do it.

I feel Lou would have been better going down the (dreaded) influencer road rather than write that book. If she wanted to step out of being "just a mum" and make a bit of a name for herself (being Rob Becketts wife lol)

Selling your soul isn't something i'd ever do for the wonders of entertainment but I quite liked her until she produced the woe is me bible, and reckon she may have managed to build some sort of better reputation than she has now.

I am a big fan of Rob and Josh, Especially Josh. But anyway there is no denying the nepo wife slant here, she would never get that book across the line without a famous husband. I think they've lost sight of how unrelatable they are now as a couple, they used to be the couple next door and now they are minted, living very different lives to the parenting hell fan base.

Maybe rob talks rubbish on the pod and it's all lies but what from what I gather he's a very hands on parent when he's not away working, far more than many men I know. She just isn't from the real world so her pov doesn't land well.
To be fair, I think that’s partly what she means in parts- yes he sounds better than many dads I know, but that’s literally the bare minimum as far as we know. He drives them around and spends time with them, well done Rob. Just because another dad does nothing, doesn’t mean every dad that does little, is brilliant. I understand what she means in some regard, my parents think my husband is amazing because he’ll spend a day with the kids if I’ve picked up an extra day at work or choose to go out for the day with my friends- and doesn’t moan about it. But does he offer water or drinks? No. Has he ever forgotten to feed her as a young toddler? Yes. Does he know what clothes size she is, knowing what to put her in, or will he suddenly find the stash of clothes in the charity shop pile and put them on her? It’s these little things that we brush off with a laugh, but when they build up, I reckon they’re a big cause of divorce! 😂

Ugh, Lou has now done an ad for Paw Patrol land at Chessington, aren’t their girls a bit old for that? Pisses me off when the families who get paid days out are the ones who take multiple trips away each year already.

The bit where Rob was talking about going to a cinema in the arse end of nowhere because he doesn’t want to be recognised made me chuckle - is he actually that recognisable? I get that he is to his fans but he’s hardly an A list celeb is he?!

My main issue with Lou is not necessarily that she's constantly going on about how hard it all is (I don't have kids and from the outside looking in - having kids looks hard! Although I do think she needs a reality check occasionally) but it's more the 'what am i like i'm not like other girls' tone of her instagram posts.

Everything always has a follow up comment to say how awful she looked, or clumsy she was or how she didn't fit in (for example, her pilates class being full on influencer-esque girls and she looks like a bin bag or something). There's something about it that I find so disingenuous.

I know we all do it from time to time and it's probably harmless and comes from a place of insecurity but god, it's a lot.
She's definitely trying to go for the 'I'm just a normal mum' thing to appear relatable when in actual fact she's married to someone who earns a lot of money, has a nice house, multiple expensive holidays abroad each year (even affording to be able to take her dad with to support on long flights) and doesn't have a day job (yes I know she's written a book but that's not a constant 9-5 is it, apart from the period where she was head down writing)

Yes her husband is away a lot but that means he's earning even more money. I have friends who's partners are military and they're away a lot too, but for months at a time and they just get on with life, and hold down 'normal' jobs too for the most part.

Yea I would rather 💩 in my hands and clap than read that. I understand it's from her own perspective, which will be pretty unrelatable to 99% of people. She really is very unlikeable

Two thoughts from the latest episode:
- they really are very defensive about their moves out of London aren’t they? It’s as if they’re trying to justify it to themselves - there’s no need to be that anti-London (I know this caused some division last time I mentioned it…). It does feel a bit “lady doth protest”
- I find Lou’s faux humbleness quite irritating. I don’t know her personally obvs so she probably is lovely but I wish she’d just own it rather than pretending to hate the book she’s written, and pretending to not even notice it’s now on Amazon…

I heard James Acaster refer to Rob and Josh’s nannies recently - they only ever mention babysitters or ‘person who picks kids up’ etc…

As much as I love this for Josh, I’m also just a bit worried that after all the scandal and departures from the show that this next series just won’t land like the past ones. I don’t want him to be part of something that ends up being an embarrassment for him, he’s far too nice for that. Hoping to be proved wrong though!
