I always thought maybe Josh's daughter wasn't at private school because he always seems surprised by the stuff Rob's daughters are up to.

My guess is Rob’s daughters go to an all girls (quite prim and proper) private school. Josh’s kids go to a co-ed independent school which is a bit more Hackney/East London vibe so probably quite different styles!

Are all girls/all boys schools quite common in England? I live in Scotland and that idea of them is totally alien to me. Like I know they exist, but didn't realise they were as common as them seem.

Had a quick google, and there appears to only be 4 all girls schools in Scotland, and only 2 for boys!

Where I'm from (Kent) it's super common for secondary to be single sex, regardless of whether you go to a comp, grammar or private.

Not me having to google what the difference between comp and grammar schools is 🙃

Someone mentioned Josh's kids are likely to go to a co-ed school - is this more common for families with both sons and daughters? Or would parents do 2 school runs?

I sound like I need to go back to school with these questions 😂 In Scotland our schools are mixed (all what would be comp schools, based on what I've read). We have very few private schools and even less same-sex schools.

The grammar system is bonkers, there's a reason it only exists in Kent and one or two other places!

I'm a way off doing the school run myself so can only base this on when I was at school, but where I lived it was completely normal for siblings to go to the same primary and then go to two different secondary schools. That was the set up with my partner in fact, him and his sister both got into grammar and went to separate schools.

I don't know if it's like it everywhere, but my comp girls school was right next to the boys school, so in some cases the school run wouldn't look that different tbh.

Plenty of grammar schools in the Home Counties. It’s confusing it’s so localised!
The grammar school I went to was mixed but the one my dad went to in the next town was boys and the sister school was in yet another town.
I live in a different town now and the boys and girls grammars are opposite each other
Fun 🙃

Cheshire and Greater Manchester is full to the brim with Grammar schools (to my knowledge all of which are also "Public" which actually means fee paying and therefore basically private)

I don't think we need to hear any more about the concert, there can't be anything else to say can there? I liked Josh's Girls Aloud anecdote, for such a huge Brit Pop nerd him being smitten with a girl group makes me giggle, little sweetheart ❤😂

I'm listening to it now. Such a good episode - I love episodes without a guest.

Not finished listening to today’s episode yet.

but does anyone else think Otis sounds more like a name Josh’s son would have, rather than his actual name 😂
