But a woman walking home at night isn't going to know this when you're walking behind her.

If you're in a position to tell a woman you don't know you're gay, you're obviously getting to know them in some way and naturally you will both be lowering your guard.

Little Owen Jones has some really vile views towards women, and his aggression when it comes to women who wish to retain single-sex spaces is outrageous and we'll documented.

He is no ally of women and it's nauseating that he's pretending to care about the safety of women here.

When JK Rowling spoke of her horrific experience of male violence, he accused her of weaponisinh her trauma, and he has started numerous pile ons on social media that have predictably culminated in his female targets receiving death threats, ie Rosie Duffield.

The man is truly vile. Like many gay men, he really, REALLY despises the female sex. The suggestion that all gay men are in solidarity with women is incredibly dangerous and a lie - I say this as a gay man.

Just leaving this here (cross posting from JKR thread) in case not yet seen.

Owen got OWNED yesterday by an MI6 operative called Aimen Dean whom Jones accused, on X, of peddling misinformation about Israel-Hamas conflict.

I paste Aimen Dean's response in full below because it's the most honest and frank takedown of OJ that there will ever be:

@AimenDean:
Now, now, Owen. Breathe.

Before you fling the label “disinformation peddler” around like it’s confetti at one of your student union rallies, how about - just once - you actually refute the information instead of writing a lazy, dismissive sentence and pretending you’ve scored a point?

Let’s talk qualifications, shall we?

See, unlike you, I’ve had real jobs - plural.

Jobs with stakes. In intelligence, in security, in global finance. For nine years, I headed the Financial Intelligence Unit of a global bank. That’s right: I dealt with threats that actually mattered, not imaginary ones drawn on the back of a Guardian opinion page.

You? You’ve spent your adult life in a journalistic safe space echo chamber, armed with an MA in U.S. history, a region you don’t even write about. And let’s be honest: if history and geography were boxing gloves, you’d still manage to punch yourself in the face. You’ve never held elected office. You’ve never worked in banking, finance, diplomacy, security, or anything remotely requiring accountability or expertise. You don’t speak a word of Arabic. You can’t name three Yemeni tribes, let alone explain the tribal dynamics behind a conflict you comment on with stunning confidence and stunning ignorance.

You opposed the Saudi-led war in Yemen, a war that, in retrospect, was a strategic necessity against Iranian expansionism and a Houthi militia now proven to be a regional and a global threat. But of course, nuance isn’t your strong suit. You framed it as a “crime against humanity” while totally ignoring the actual crimes by the Houthis, according to the majority of Yemenis and Arab states.

And then there’s your economic wisdom. You once called for the nationalization of all banks. All of them. As if Monopoly money and Marxist pamphlets are interchangeable. You’re a walking manifesto for why no one should let infantile socialists anywhere near macroeconomics Let me make one thing clear, Owen: I don’t do disinformation. I can’t.

Because unlike you, I answer to people who don’t tolerate fantasy. Global funds, sovereign wealth funds, global banks, commodity traders, airlines, energy companies and heck, even governments - they don’t pay me for ideology. They pay me for cold, hard, verified intelligence and solid forecasts. And if I were wrong - consistently wrong, like you? I’d be out of business in a heartbeat. These people are not kind when it comes to failure. To give them wrong forecast is to cost them money, so I must seek - and tell - only the cold hard truths, and their implications.

This isn’t The Guardian; there’s no editor to hide behind, no trendy moral outrage to mask incompetence.

You survive on emotionalism and mob applause. I survive on precision. On getting it right.

So no, Owen, don’t project your failures onto me. Don’t confuse your echo chamber for authority. You’re a one-note, one-language, one-track ideologue who’s never held a real job, never risked a real decision, and never had to face the consequences of being catastrophically wrong.

You deal in slogans. I deal in facts.

You write for applause. I deliver for clients.

You thrive on fiction. I don’t have that luxury.

So next time you feel tempted to call someone a “disinformation peddler,” look in the mirror, and have a long, honest chat with the reflection of a man who’s done precisely nothing with his life but shout from the sidelines.

@AimenDean

Sometime LBC presenter Owen Jones has been in the news today. But the tweet below seems rather extraordinary even for him.

OJ has made conscious use of this fact in his campaigning against certain forms of feminism and women's rights, all while getting away with it because he's seen as harmless and an automatic ally.

He went purely to antagonise people. Whatever your views on Israel, Palestine, Hamas etc I think we can agree that if you've been as widely disliked in the wider Jewish community and the queer Jewish community hold a twice yearly event for LGBTQ Jews and Jew friendly allies then Owen is probably not welcome even if his buddies invited him.
My cousin was there and was very unhappy to see Owen

As someone who is left of centre politically I think he’s a cock, and it’s him and his ilk that are everything that is wrong with the Labour Party today. As some who is genuinely from a working class background I can safely say that until they get rid of Momentum and the Corbynistas they will never be elected again. Im as angry with Labour as I am with the Tories, they should be trouncing them in the polls given party gate etc and they’re not for the reasons I’ve already stated above. What a mess this country is in.

OJ is horrific. He's always organising pile-ons, playing the victim, and being deliberately obtuse. He's so convinced he's "on the right side of history", that he thinks it gives him carte blanche to behave like an absolute arsewipe.

If anyone tries to call him out, however mildly, he screams homophobia.

In the last couple of years, more specifically since Corbynista Labour got comprehensively rejected at the ballot box and OJ's hoped-for Home Office job along with it, I've noticed that his brain has slowly begun to break. The trans / women's rights controversy has subsequently caused all of his grey matter to liquefy and drip out through his ears to such extent that all he is now capable of doing is being mean, hysterical and misogynistic on Twitter.

His book Chavs was offensive to me as a WC person (single parent immigrant family, mum dinner lady, to give my bona fides since lots of posh people on Left Twitter pretend to be WC these days, thankfully no one on Tattle ever does this) as it was transparently aimed at the MCs and completely misrepresented WC history and values. His other book on the Establishment was poorly researched pap that failed to take into account Establishment organisations like the BBC and Guardian which practise nepotism, cronyism and preach at people.

I am very glad to see the direction his career is taking.

Foof - I've been wanting to say all that for quite a long time lol

As a student he was a frequent editor of the Hamas Wikipedia. He asserted Jewish ethnicity is a myth. If Jewish ethnicity is denied then they can't be victims of racism. Antisemitic persecution has never checked how frequently (or ever) a Jew attends a synagogue. Jewish atheists were rounded up along with rabbis.

Owen is convinced of his righteousness. Any criticism is 'deranged' or homophobic. When he was assaulted people across the political spectrum who'd had beef with him expressed solidarity and condemned it but he couldn't do the same for feminists being told they'll be punched on campus and threatened physically by balaclava wearing thugs who are totally down with misogyny and violence so long as its towards women they don't agree with.

He's also just not a very good writer. It's the same hyperbole and lack of nuance every time. I frequently hugely disagree with Ash Sarker for example but she's a talented writer, whipsmart and deserves to far outstrip him with his platform that's disproportionate to what he actually does. She also gets the most appalling and degrading racism but still engages with good faith criticism whereas homophobia is a shield for Owen.

I seem to remember he’s already on thin ice with the pronoun lot because he wouldn’t explicitly come out and say he’d date a trans person a couple of years back.
TRA in the streets, terf in the sheets, just like every other gay man who mouths off on the subject but would sooner shit in his hands and clap than sleep with a woman who identifies as a man.

On one level I do find Jones's visible physical and mental deterioration over the past 5 years a bit alarming. It's the 2019 GE that broke him in my view.

He and the Novara lot were promised Home Office jobs under a putative Corbyn regime (presumably they had in mind something like the USSR's Strength Through Joy committee whereby communist apparatchiks imposed a top down form of 'popular culture' in which the masses were to be entertained only by 'politically correct' ie communist propaganda. So the glories of Russian literature, music and dance were swept away as being insufficiently communist and replaced with awful, degenerate, joyless versions, like godawful pop music about Stakhov, a USSR hero because he worked himself to death in service of communism, or films about Stalingrad which magically ignored the fact that Stalin blithely sent 10 million of his own soldiers to certain death by not training or equipping them properly, especially countless young lads from central Asia, because he regarded them as in some way 'inferior').

Imagine a music festival organised by Ash Sarkar and Owen Jones according to such principles and you should be able to get an idea of the horrors that we narrowly escaped in 2019.

So yeah I think Jones's brain was broken by the failure of the Corbyn project and since then he's just been on a downwards psychological spiral as it becomes clearer and clearer that the British public don't want a communist utopia led by John MacDonald and him (because as an electorate, we might be cynical, hardbitten, apathetic yada yada, but still - we're not stupid).

There's a long history of former committed communists whose minds start to break as reality impinges upon their cruel and unworkable political fantasies. Some, like the great dissident author Solzhenitsyn, contront this head on and produce great art, corruscating in its honesty and humility. Others, like Jones, just try to cower away from self-realisation and thus become sick, blibbering idiots.

I could almost feel sorry for Jones , but then I remember the misogyny, bullying, meanness, viciousness, lies, racist bigotry, rape apology, and also the fact that he's got a huge platform which he doesn't deserve, because he's honestly just not very bright.

And then my sense of Schadenfreude returns. :)

I have no idea who this is but I want to marry them. It's enough to make me rejoin Twitter just to applaud.
He's a former Islamist extremist who came to his senses and was recruited by MI6 as a double agent in Al Qaeda, where he successfully helped take down a number of terrorist cells.

I've just ordered his book Nine Lives about his time in Al Qaeda.

There's so much in it that's so true isn't it? You’re a walking manifesto for why no one should let infantile socialists anywhere near macroeconomics ...I feel that, in my heart. Kier? Rachel? Yeah, YOU.

You don’t speak a word of Arabic. You can’t name three Yemeni tribes, let alone explain the tribal dynamics behind a conflict you comment on with stunning confidence and stunning ignorance. DUDE. Fucking beautiful.

@emm he did make a weak attempt to fight back and Aimen destroyed him TWICE more but as OJ has me blocked (reason: my other profile is a TERF) it's difficult to unlock and follow whilst on the move (unlike OJ I have a real job lol)

In a beautiful confluence of my latest hero meeting my long-standing one, JKR then followed Aimen and he wrote a lovely piece about how his MI6 handler got him to read the Harry Potters to improve his English and help him understand English culture. And how he loved them because they're reminscent of a lot of Arabic folklore. And his children love them too.

I really loathe this whiny little shit. He happily instigates dogpiles on people yet cries and moans when he gets pulled on it, and he never, ever admits when he is wrong. EVER. The Wi Spa situation being a case in point. And as others have said, he really hates women. I don't quite understand the antisemitism debacle but I do think he is spectacularly thick and intransient on pretty much everything. Which is a shame, as I thought his "Chavs" book was rather enlightening.

I remember reading his "Chavs" book years ago but had no idea who he was back at that time. I think it was quite well received initially but since then I've never seen any positive press about him.
Yes Chavs- or 'Dont demonise the Working Class- Until they vote for Brexit, in which case, I'll just join in'

Hang on I thought he'd left twitter

He's now giving advice of drug names and dosages, while also asking for advice, along with the hospital drip photo o_O

Oh dear, he can't do any work 😶. Would the world really care if he stopped doing work? His existence is just as bad as Farage etc with railing people up to make cash.

Why is he posing in hospital on a drip like he’s a 18 year old who has got hideously drunk for the first time? He’s such an embarrassment to humanity 😂

Personally, as an evil terf bigot, I generally err on the side of giving people the benefit of the doubt and tend not to assume malice or existential threat when someone doesn't rearrange their entire lives around accommodating someone's ever so fragile identity, but since Owen has shown himself to be a fan of a moral purity spiral on more than one occasion... a shame to see him hoist by his own petard.
