Yes I can't remember when it was but I followed her for quite a while before home fund and I unfollowed probably 18 months ago, but they had saved a smallish deposit, they had a mortgage offer (she said) and she was frantically looking at houses she shared photos, even a video of someones home with their stuff in place (they were not nice areas, she said so herself) then she shared a story about how stu? Was not eating because he was so worked up about having a mortgage, he did look worryingly thin. And that's when they decided to save and buy outright.
Edit: this was on her account, not homefund.

Buying a house in a completely different area that requires them both to get new jobs. I mean, what could possibly wrong.

Where did they find the broker? I know it was mentioned on her about his fees, but I wonder if he is just leading them down the path. They don't exactly hide the fact they (she) like somewhere so he could just be putting them through it for an easy £££ when he knows they'll get rejected or won't get the house

Wow that is such strange behaviour! It certainly seems like she goes from one extreme to another almost like an obsession…eg, what has happened about the cleaning business she was setting up? She got all those business cards printed and set up an insta page that now isn’t there….it’s not normal to dive headfirst into everything like that just to then not do anything about it!

If she’s in desperate need of a holiday due to burn out why didn’t they get something last minute? Surely waiting 3-4 months isn’t going to help her current mental state?
Also, why buy expensive pets?

Nothing against council housing because I grew up in one but I bought an ex council house and majority of my neighbours were lovely to begin with (council tenants) however without sounding snobbish one neighbour moved away and a new tenant was put in and he’s an absolute nightmare. A complete ned! Police are never away from the house, has no respect for anyone with parties until all hours, crap dumped out in the garden, etc. I know you can have issues like this anywhere but generally speaking there’s a higher chance when being surrounded by social housing and it’s so deflating when you’ve spent a lot of money on your home for people surrounding you to be so disrespectful. I think she’s going to be in for a shock when she moves to her ‘sturdy ex council house’.

They will deffo have lawyers fees but in Scotland the seller pays for a home report. If they wanted an additional survey I guess they'd need to pay for that but I don't think it's all that common in Scotland when buying standard houses. Alot of mortgages also have a set up fee. We paid 1k set up fee in oder to get the better interest rate.
