They will deffo have lawyers fees but in Scotland the seller pays for a home report. If they wanted an additional survey I guess they'd need to pay for that but I don't think it's all that common in Scotland when buying standard houses. Alot of mortgages also have a set up fee. We paid 1k set up fee in oder to get the better interest rate.I don’t think she’s taking into consideration other costs either like legal fees getting a survey done, etc.
Nothing against council housing because I grew up in one but I bought an ex council house and majority of my neighbours were lovely to begin with (council tenants) however without sounding snobbish one neighbour moved away and a new tenant was put in and he’s an absolute nightmare. A complete ned! Police are never away from the house, has no respect for anyone with parties until all hours, crap dumped out in the garden, etc. I know you can have issues like this anywhere but generally speaking there’s a higher chance when being surrounded by social housing and it’s so deflating when you’ve spent a lot of money on your home for people surrounding you to be so disrespectful. I think she’s going to be in for a shock when she moves to her ‘sturdy ex council house’.
I don’t think they drive or have a car…?Give me 5 minutes
