That's not to say I am against porn by any stretch
Do you or anybody else that supports it think pornography has benefited society and women in particular?

I know you said earlier it’s negatively effected society as a whole then later said you aren’t against it

I think the normalisation / promotion of sex work is damaging that’s why I don’t support it

I heard of one OF woman who has her 18yo son do her filming. She has a preference for filming with 2 men at a time. Can you imagine😱😱😱
That absolutely shocking this is what is happening. They are going to the extreme to keep the subscribers at least if you pose for a magazine you got paid thousands of pounds for a shoot and that was the only fan seems a lot worse.

You have to have a credit card to get anywhere on Onlyfans, which automatically means users are reasonably validated as over 18. Performers get people to message them via Onlyfans or a similarly named site (also ends in fans but I won't name it) as reasonable proof that they are over 18, these two sites are held up as examples of pretty responsible sites overall.

Yes of course some kids will manage to put their parents' card details in but if the parents don't then go nuts when charges start appearing on their statement each month or the charges each time messages are sent via these sites, then to be honest all hope is lost anyway.

There is far far worse content openly accessible on ALL everyday sites including Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube, Snapchat and even Instagram if you start searching certain hashtags or find one adult account and then start looking up that account's followers etc, and none of that requires a credit card or any adult verification (Youtube requires to be logged in for certain videos but that's not difficult to achieve). Especially twitter, it's an utter cesspit. And that's before going anywhere near Pornhub or similar which are also openly viewable without any kind of account.

Anybody getting upset about Onlyfans is *incredibly* naiive about what's easily found on other sites.
You're correct, I think it is more the mesaage for kids that are already being bombarded by an emerging tech sector that they be an influencer or play games as jobs that OnlyFans is a career now. A billboard in a high traffic area legitimises that. It probably is hard work shoving larger and larger objects into your anus and the resulting consequences of that in order to earn a crust but of all industries porn is the shiniest on the outside and murkiest behind the scenes.

That's not to say I am against porn by any stretch, but I think the game has changed a lot already and the consequences are more further reaching than ever before. When I was a teenager in a small town there were whispers about supposed VHS copies of porn films that existed somewhere with local people on them, but no-one ever saw them. If an impressionable young person decides they are going to be onlyfans next big thing and will start practicing now by peforming sex on camera, once it is shared it's out there forever, and the likelihood people they know will see it is increased massively compared to 20 years ago.

Also I will say for all it's paywall security as other threads on here have noted if you type in the person's name and onlyfans into google with safe search off it usually returns half their content.

Someone I’ve been following for years suddenly came out with an only fans the other day, I’m assuming she’s skint cos of lockdown cos it was so out of character I feel. She’s doing really well on it. It’s Not for me though, I would be too scared of someone finding it!

There's a new thing in only fans where people are using faked pics to generate perfect in every way images of people and writing it like a soap opera to get only fans subscribers. Very lucrative for some.
Warning on the link below their twitter contains nudes but someone is writing fiction to pretend that two young Argentinian medical student men with perfect, bodies, faces, n dicks are dating each other. It's Frankenstein images made from combining others and probably some ai to stitch them together. They could be making a lot from this scam

Her OF page probably offers exclusive content (pics/videos), direct/real time messaging with her, and maybe the option to request her to make a custom clip exactly as the purchaser wants it. PH is just videos I think, and they may be older videos (by a few weeks or months) than those on OF.

For the record: OnlyFans isn't only for explicit content. I think some of the top accounts on the site are musicians, actually.

Like, there are a LOT of explicit content people. But there are also people who share art, music, etc. It's kinda like Patreon in a way.

I've been reading about the OnlyFans model who wants to sleep with 1000 men in a day and who has just slept with 100 in a day, cried afterwards and said she dissocated but that she's aiming to do 300 in a day soon.
Depressing but not surprising that people have to do ever more extreme stuff to gain traction for their onlyfans.

If you're someone with a following on social media you could earn a fortune from it, but most earn nothing and this stuff is then on the internet forever.

Even if you're someone like a reality tv star with a following and can make a large amount a month with onlyfans I don't think it's worth it. Look at the sean pratt thread here - he was inviting guys to meet him in hotels and doing all kinda of stuff with dildos. That stuff will never be wiped from the internet even though he's married now and doesn't do much of it anymore. He probably made a couple hundred thousand, but that's nowhere near enough. I can see how it would be tempting as its easy money for little work.

It's not just for has been celebrities or insta wannabes. I don't judge anyone, but was a little bit surprised when someone posted this on their timeline. Apparently they make make quite a bit each month doing so. Hey times are tough for a lot of people and I guess anything can be marketed these days...or bottled and sold 😅

Surely this just means the end of the platform? Almost all of their content is adult material
I do think it's too late to rebrand now. I don't think their platform is anything too special as there's lots of other similar things. Anyone non porn would be on one without a porn reputation.

They maybe had problems with extream and illegal content threatening the providers that allow the income stream. Still I think they'd of been better off keeping going until it implodes, I think they take a 20 or 25% cut. Or maybe it was a few days from imploding?

I don't think I actively support pornography I'd say it is more of a view that the genie is out of the bottle the same way social media and technology has moved so quickly. I think pornography will always exist (and arguably always has existed in some form or another) for all of human history, it is just that with the advent of photography it has become more exploitative.

I think it has negatively effected society as a whole due to the wide availability of more extreme content now. I think this is where things need to change to ensure that access to content is restricted across the board to ensure under 18s cannot view it at all, of course there will always be ways around it but as it stands it is laughably easy to access it for anyone.

Women in general have not benefitted from it, though there are standout exceptions to the rule. Even someone like Mia Khalifa who harnessed the power of going viral on more mainstream social media and has denounced the industry since leaving it has still harnessed her notoriety to have a media career off the back of it.

I do agree that the normalisation of sex work in the mainstream is a problem, as I said before it is confusing enough for young people now with so many misleading sources of information about what they can do for a career vs the realistic options open to them, or the reinforcement that desperate women should turn to porn to make extra money by tabloid puff pieces. There is a boxer who wears an onlyfans tshirt for her fight promo stuff and I don't agree with that either, I'm not comfortable with the message that sends to girls in sport.

If the idea of being paid to strip off for a sad old perv while he stands there whacking one out disgusts you in real life, then don't do it online. It's no more dignified really! It is safer to be behind a screen than in person I guess, but it's still the same dirty sods looking at you 😖 no thanks
I think it’s quite different though isn’t it? Not responded to criticise post you made this is just my thoughts

Easier to take clothes off at home than in front of an actual person that’s what makes it more attractive and they don’t have to watch the person whack one out it’s quite a removed experience

For me I’m private couldn’t contemplate it at all but then there’s people who go topless on the beach different comfort levels

It's not for me personally but honestly if you make that much money on it, it's tempting. Hearing people can make that much money just from posting pictures 👀

Don't see how this is much different to people photoshopping pictures of celebrities to make them appear nude, which has been going on for years. and as long as they're using fictional people, then it's not really a massive issue.

What’s the perks for someone who subscribes? What’s OF’s unique selling point that has people paying for what I thought was readily accessible?

Remember all the top shelf and lads mags disappearing because people could get it for free online.
You get access to that specific content.

For example I could get up an account and share explicit content of myself (or anything really). Someone could pay to have access to it. Yes they can get other explicit content elsewhere for free but not of me. Of course someone could screenshot and share, there is always that risk. However, I believe that if you are caught you get kicked off OnlyFans all together.
