Matter of fact I used to deface everybody in the newspaper along with it - usually missing teeth and hitleresque moustaches.

I use to do lots of weird stuff. Me and my cousins use to pretend we were in big brother and set up their house to look like it. We even put a paddling pool in the garden and the cupboard was the diary room. One of us would pretend to be 'big brother ' and ask questions about each other.

I performed full blown concerts in my room, had a favourite small travel hairspray can that was my mums as my mic. I'd be stomping and doing run ways around my room, whenever I'd be called for dinner my Dad and brothers would always ask "How was the show?" 😆 I'd be so out of breath ha.

In primary school, I was the shopkeeper every big break. I had a stash of rocks and flowers I'd bring out to sell to everyone else.

Another only child here! I used to:
- climb in low-down kitchen cupboard to lick the salt shaker
- write "end credits" for my school class and teachers as if we were characters in a film, and decide on fitting names for the "actors" playing us
- keep my video tapes of Neighbours in a rucksack in my room in case of fire (999 the telly programme responsible for that)
- accidentally invented prostitution for my Barbies by saying Ken could kiss them for a fee
- get my auntie to write out then mark some sums (she's a teacher). I'd also get maths books to do at home.
- pretended to my mum and dad that we were getting homework, and I'd come up with my own assignments.
- come up with stories while playing tennis against the back wall, which I'd say out loud.
- if I got scared while trying to go to sleep, I'd make my way downstairs (with the lights on) with my hands on my bum as if that would protect me from behind.
- called Intercity trains Durham Trains because that's where we went on them.
Only child club !! lol

I would fill a ziplock bag with water and use it as a "water bed" for my barbies.

I still do that and I’m mid 30s

I was young when I did this but I used to get red paint on a paintbrush and paint a single ant red to see if the other ants would think it was an enemy. Also used the paint to draw circles around them to make them think they were trapped.

Also, remember those giant spiderwebs in parks? That look like this:

I used to climb all the way to the top and then slide down the pole in the middle. Makes me queasy thinking about it.

I used to do a lot of drama at primary school, was the lead in all the plays (stopped when I went to secondary school as they only did musicals and I can't sing for tit) and at age 9 or so used to regularly practice my Best Actress Oscar winners speech 🤣🤣

I used to play schools with my little sister and insist that I was the teacher. I used to give her maths work to do and i'd mark it. Other days we would play cake shops and make cakes out of her Duplo and i would always be the shop keeper and she would have to be the customer.

I went through a phase where I was convinced i was a cat and made my mum put my food on the floor on a plate so I could eat it like a cat. I was a strange child!!!

This has reminded me of when I was at school I'd make my mom put out play food to 'feed' my dolly. She did it as well bless her!
I'd come home to find plastic chips and chicken on a plate for her ☺

Another only child here!

- I went through a phase of drawing "maps" of Italy

- I wouldn't drink milk on its own, only as part of a delicious Birds Custard Milkshake (basically the custard powder, sugar and cold milk mixed together). Yummy. Could do with one now in fact. (I'm not Vanessa Feltz).

- Before I started horse riding when I was 6, I was desperate for a rocking horse like my friend had (she had a little shed for it with straw and everything!) but my parents said no.
So I took the log horse from the shed, crafted some stirrups and a bridle out of baler twine and proceeded to "ride" that :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
This is a log horse btw if you didn't know...it was not the most comfortable to sit on so I think I used a cushion as a saddle. Obviously the "head" end was the smaller section.

Maybe because it had "horse" in the name I thought it would be a suitable replacement for a real rocking horse? Also our log horse was very old and beat up.

- I made my cats showjump by setting up brooms/mops on chairs (with cushions as fillers so they didn't just walk underneath), then chucking treats over so they would jump. I used to build whole courses!

- I was given an old-fashioned typewriter and used to cut out pictures from my Horse & Pony magazines and re-write the articles and make my own magazines. I even wrote and illustrated a book. Hours of fun were had with that typewriter until the ribbon wore out and at that time you couldn't really get a replacement (or so my Dad said, but he probably wanted rid of me clackety-clacking on it when he wanted to watch TV).

- Catalogues: Argos, Index, index extra, Robinsons (horsey). Would make many lists about all the stuff I would buy for my house etc.

- I once made two small cushions and stuffed them with hair from my cats

- I had a set of felt-tips and one of the colours, what can only be described as "crappy-green", used to make me gag and I couldn't use it, but I never thought to throw it/give it away.

- Upstairs in Boots they had a small display of telephones which I would always mess around with. They were push button phones which I found fascinating because we still had one of the round dial turn-y phones.

I did the catalogue thing (Avon included..Heather Shimmer anyone?)too, convinced I'd have a kitchen full of Eternal Beau when I got married to a nice man and had lots of babies.
Did get married to a nice man and had a reasonable flock of babies, not a sniff of Eternal Beau in the equation. I've been had. 😉
Eternal Beau!!!! That's a blast from the past!

I would pretend I was a dog 🐶 Get on all fours and bark. Always wanted to be the pet dog in a game of families. My parents would order themselves spare ribs from the Chinese take away most weekends as a treat for themselves - I would demand the chewed round bones and sit in a corner or under the table gnarling and guarding them. Knocks me sick thinking about it to this day.

I used to crawl around peoples legs like an actual cat. I cringe so much thinking back. People must have thought I was mad!!

In the mid-70s, aged nine/ten, I checked the coin returns of pay phones, cigarette and candy machines, etc. Sometimes I surprised my parents at how much change I snagged in one day. 💰

As a child I often used to travel to Edinburgh on the train to visit family. I always used to make my own ticket out of cardboard. The ones with the orange lines on the front and the black strip on the back. The conductors were always so lovely and always used to stamp my fake ticket for me. (My mum had my real ticket, obviously!)

I had my mum's old typewriter and used to make my own "magazines" which I had typed and illustrated. They included family news, articles about stuff I was interested in (usually horses, Spanish and quizzes).

Used to spend hours learning countries and capitals and flags, also drawing and colouring in the flag of each country.

Me and my sister had Talkboy from Home Alone 2, and we used to do this thing called the Sound Show, where we'd go around the house recording the sound of the toilet flushing, etc, and my parents had to guess the sounds.

We also used to use a video camera to record our own versions of TV shows, like TFI Friday and the National Lottery (featuring my sister as Mystic Meg but it was more in the style of Brian Conley's Septic Peg).

I would also write top 10 lists of my favourite musical artists or TV shows. I updated these regularly.

Send pictures of my fashion designs into Bunty magazine. It paid off as I won £10 twice 😂

Trace pictures from my favourite books and colour them in.

I used to love Christmas and would always make my own advent calendar out of a large piece of card, and draw something behind each door, like a robin, candle, angel, etc. Also made nameplates out of card for all my family at Christmas dinner every year.

All that makes me sound so boring - and I probably was/am! 😂😂

I use to make videos on Windows Movie Maker about Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. Basically the whole High School Musical cast, they were called Zanessa stories and they’re essentially little movies where you would use their photos for when they were speaking and put text on the screen. If you youtube “zanessa” or “zashley” stories you’ll see exactly what I mean. I never posted them but I would spend hours making them. I was so weird 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Edit to add I was probably around 7-10 years old when I did this, I stopped when I started secondary school. I was too cool at that point.

I would invent an entire new family for myself in which we would all be famous celebrities .There would be around 8-10 of us siblings made up of myself and then a few random celebs who I liked at the time such as Britney Spears ,then the rest would be complied of just random people I’d made up in my head and I’d write all there ages in order and names down in one of my notebooks .In my head I was genuinely part of this family and would go about my day having conversations with them in my head .I myself was a child star of screen and stage ,I had made millions and sold billions of albums world wide and stared along side some of the most famous actors in Hollywood .We lived in a huge house in LA of course and I would have to miss a lot of school as I was always ‘ on the road ‘ touring 🤣🤣🤣 this legit went on for years and years

My sister and I used to tie a skipping rope around the wheels of our broken skateboard (that we found) and walked it around the street pretending it was a dog (we really wanted a dog)

Me and my friends used to stand on a hill next to a road sign, point to a random place on the sign and shake our heads as if to say don't go there (not sure why!)

We used to play blind date at school with the boys, and my mam told me my teeth would fall out from kissing all the boys 😂

If my sister and friends were busy, I'd wear roller skates and skate around the street (cul-de-sac) and pretend I was in a magical world and I had to skate from one drain to the next within a certain time frame to get a magical spell, and used to pretend to take the wheels off the bottom of my skates to make shoes (a few years later heelies were invented lol)

We used to put all of our polly pockets in a circle to make a village, and used to recreate storylines from coronation Street with them

Oh and I had posters of Britney spears on my wall and would have a concert for her where I would sing and dance to her songs 😂😂

I used to play schools with my teddies too, and have a register and I'd always make one be off sick and have to bring a note in to explain why they'd been off....hilariously my little girl does this now 😂😂

Also used to play shops until I spilled an entire bottle of vegetable oil over the carpet and my mam banned me from using real food 😂😂

I used to walk around with a mirror held beneath my chin, so then it was like I was walking on the ceilings. I used to “step” over the doors because in the mirror it’d look like there was a step but there actually wasn’t.

I bet my parents thought I was a right head.
