No Spend, Two Weeks at a Time

I’ve actually spent nothing (minus essentials) this year until today. I’ve returned an £80 gymshark order from December, but spent £160 at M&S replacing my work clothes and gym kits which have seen better days. I feel like it is kind of essential but also not also made £13 on Vinted this week to offset it slightly

Went to Lidl with good intentions of spending £25….spent £50 and they overcharged me on reduced items 🥲 I definitely save on buying my “Lidl” stuff rather than other supermarket branded items, but I think I need to reduce my deliveries.
It’s annoying using just eat/woosh for a few basics which cost more than usual, but then again I need to save money from somewhere.

Depending on how far the shop is, you could take your items back and request the price difference if they didn't scan through at the reduced price.

Day 3 - £9.25 on snacks from the petrol station and £3.80 on crisps in the pub this evening. Could do better 🫣 I did pack snacks for our day out but my partner wanted a sandwich and sausage roll so then so did the child…ah well!

Splurged £14 in Heron and £50 at the vet then £10 on Shein. Updating my spreadsheets as new annual bills are coming in. Depressing.

Popped out today and managed to get the bits I forgot for my youngest's birthday when I went out yesterday. Also managed to pay for it with a couple of leftover JamDoughnut vouchers so result there

Day 3

Was hoping to stay at home and rot into a flu-y puddle but no such luck. FIL is visiting so sweated my tits off cleaning the house from top to bottom (because there's no f*cking way my OH would do it tomorrow morning ) and popped to the supermarket. Bought meals for the weekend and had to top up on milk for Wee Man and milk for us. OH thought it was a great time to buy a couple of bottles of wine for him and his dad to share so grocery bill was 50% more than we'd normally pay for a fortnight but the food will only last the weekend

I don't need a black mini backpack. Even though the brand is very trendy, it's 60% off, less than €20 and it would work amazing with my standard black t-shirt + skirt combo I wear all summer long. Right?!

Didn't spend anything yesterday, but will need to pick up some bits today on the way home from school (bread, milk, washing pods etc) so all necessities! It'll be hard to avoid a croissant in the coop though!!

I don’t know how you cope with kids and OH’s just…spending money.

Sit everyone down and agree on spending limits for set time periods. This could be for a week or a month. If it's all spent there's no top ups until the next point. It just makes everyone more mindful of the spending.

I’ve spent today too, a sandwich and crisps as I am stuck at a child’s activity for 4 hours and needed food. £6.95.

I ordered something online, tried it, no good, returned it. They started saying I couldn’t return it as I’d tried it on thankfully they have now refunded my £20. Phew! £35 on very average take-away. Now let’s see if I can not spend apart from groceries.

What on earth was it? Surely it's against whatever rules there are to say you can't return it just because it's been tried on?

Ugh, I feel like spending money is never ending. Just realised I need a dental check up and hygienist visit. But I’ve booked them for month end!
Honestly the hygienist prices are insane, £102! My teeth are in good nick so I feel I should pay half price

Books are usually my downfall. I've been downsizing my books for our house move and have been scanning them in to webuybooks because I can't be bothered with trying to sell individually and even at 10-50p a time should have over £100 coming in. Trying not to think about how much I spent on them tbh.

My non essential purchases this week are mini reindeer icecreams reduced in aldi and some pepsi max when I usually get the lidl version for 1/4 the price, but I usually don't get round home bargains and the middle aisles without more than that so I'm fairly content.

Thanks for that - I didn't know about webuybooks and I will have to sort out the box full I was going to take to the charity shop tomorrow, mostly almost new.

We'd planned to go to a country park today, which would have cost £3 in parking, but Wee Man was a bit out of sorts. A 3-hour nap later and he was much better. We did stay home though. We already had lunch and dinner so no money spent at all
