i have loved him for like 20 years, i was obsessed with him on eastenders, and i am making it my life’s mission to keep him in strictly for as a long as possible. ideally long enough to a rhumba.

his soft voice and how he smiles with his whole face are just bonus points to how he is.

I tuned in purely to see his little spot but I have zero interest in strictly without him. I loathe that programme so for me to tune in every week shows my love for the man .

I'm really hoping that this leads to a west end musical role. He's kept himself busy with plays but I'd love to see him singing and dancing again on a London stage.

So are we all gutted then? I know I am . Its been so lovely having him on TV every week - something I'm sure we've all dreamed about for years! Now we don't know when we're going to get to see him again and it's a real shame that he had to withdraw because of an injury - the worst way to go out .

Ahhhhhh I've found my people. So, fun fact time. I had SUCH a thing for him circa 2003 - I actually never really watched EE, just caught my Mum watching it one night and was like HOT DAMN WHO IS THAT GUY and became obsessed. Back in those days there was BBC forums for each flagship show (think Casualty, Eastenders etc) and I started a forum for Nigel Harman (called Nigel Harman Online) and basically recruited a tonne of equally as obsessed Nigel fans over to the forum. As EE became more popular, fucking tonnes of people flocked to the forum/website - we were the top search for anything Nigel Harman on Google, Jonathan Ross mentioned the forum on his TV show, we had a shout out in Heat - Nigel knew about it, and we spoke on the phone a number of times but never got his personal number we used to know exclusives and stuff, like we knew some of the storylines and stuff in advance. It was heady heady days

The forum had tonnes of people on it, but then I went to uni and I sort of lost track of Nigel and someone else took it over and I think monetised it (back in those days nothing was really monetised like it is now) but I don't think it exists now. There were regulars who used to screenshot like every second Nigel was on the screen and we had huge databases of images

I followed him on IG long before Strictly and knew all about the meditation and Casualty etc but would never admit it was me who had the website - maybe I should now (he was always AMAZING about it, so honoured but a bit embarrassed that people found him attractive)

I really hope there’s a producer or casting director out there watching Nigel on Strictly and realising that his charisma and talent would make him perfect for whatever project they’re working on.

Most celebs do Strictly for a career boost and I’d love for it to lead to more opportunities for Nigel now he’s done with Casualty; it would be great to see him back on stage sooner rather than later.

Oh my gosh! I literally was googling that forum a couple of weeks ago and found old snapshots of it on the Internet Archive because I had memories of visiting it back in the day.

I remember there was a group trip to see Guys and Dolls organised and I was gutted because my mum wouldn’t let teenage me meet a bunch of strangers off the internet to go and see Nigel on stage

Sharon and Dennis get married in Friday's ep.

I never saw Dennis die back in the day cause I'd stopped watching EE by then... and I'm not looking forward to it. Is it sad to get emotionally attached to a character again, 20 years later? 🫣

I suppose eventually EE writers would have ruined his character and the relationship with Sharon, but it feels like a missed opportunity not to go back to the sexual abuse in Dennis's past that was very heavily alluded to. I think Nigel could have dealt with such a storyline beautifully.

I honestly couldn't face it last night either i didnt particularly want to go out in the middle of a bloody storm but I ended up saying yes to a take away round my mates house just to get me out and away from it, i felt so stupid for still feeling low so I'm honestly glad I'm not alone


ETA : Has it definitely been confirmed he's back for final and might do the group dance etc ?
