Deleted this app swiftly not long after I’d installed it, dog shit date was far too intense.
I bet Barbara was a little disappointedThere was a great one on my local Facebook page the other day. Someone posted a photo of a large pile of white powder at a local area that has lots of walking and cycling tracks, cue lots of hysterical posts along the lines of 'It's KIDS doing DRUGS' and 'It's POISON put down for DOGS'. Until someone pointed out that it was more likely to be piles of chalk being put down to later mark out running and cycling tracks. But, no, he got shouted down, poor sod, with all the DRUGS and POISON.
Then an older lady called Barbara (who very rapidly became my favourite local Facebooker) came on to tell everyone to pull themselves together and that she had smelled and tasted the white powder and it was, indeed, chalk.
I'm not dumb enough to think that the local kids would be leaving thousands of pounds worth of cocaine just lying around a local beauty spot, but I'm not sure I would have the guts to actually taste the stuff. Good on you, Barbara!
Same here and every now and then one of the titles looks really interesting but cuts off before the end. Not interesting enough for me to reinstall the app thoughIve tried to unsubscribe from the emails but they keep coming!![]()
Oh we get the video footage. And then the argument about whether it’s legal or not to post videos of people without their consentOur community Facebook page is the same, everyday someone has a missing catfollowed by the dog shit post and if the said dog owner, doesnt come and pick it up they will hunt them down, or release video footage they have, I wait in anticipation for that day it never comes
followed by has my parcel been delivered to someone else by mistake, followed by picture evidence of where it’s been delivered to, there has been COVID advice by non experts followers by advice from an actual doctor who been shot down in flames
I could go on but I won’t, it is definitely a source of amusement x
Even though I have moved from the area now, I still belong to a few local groups on Facebook. Very similar type of posts really. “Did you see a bunch of suspicious boys walking up the middle path” or “my bin has not been collected this week” blah, blah.So I recently signed up to the Nextdoor site out of interest after a leaflet came through my letterbox and decided to join and check it out. I don’t know whether to laugh or be slightly concerned I’m living nearby a bunch of busybodies!
Examples of some recent posts:
Did anyone see a man who didn’t look like he was from the area driving down the road at 3pm today? No, I did not, but people are allowed to drive up and down roads and *shock horror* they don’t have to be local to do so.
Hi all, just moved to the area, happy to be here, hope to be friends, etc, etc, blah, blah, long spiel, oh, and here’s a link to my GoFundMe page to raise money for furniture for my new place
Free Stuff to whoever wants to collect it! With pictures of said stuff underneath which you’d mistake for rubbish if left on the side of the road because it looks broken and dirty.
Did anyone hear GUNSHOTS last night, around 11:30pm last night? Cue lots of panic, drama and outrage, people riling each other up, completely ignoring the one solitary poster who piped up and said “it wasn’t gunshots, it was fireworks, I saw them from my window”, NO, of course it has to be guns, because gunshots sounding off for half an hour makes so much more sense than fireworks.
I’m not on Facebook so although I’ve read about local groups like this I’ve never actually seen one up close and personal like this before. It’s fascinatingly odd lol.
Have you joined yours!? Any funny posts to share?![]()
Yeah quite a few of them didDo they post pics of the turds as well, like they do on mine? I hate people who don’t pick up after their dog as much as the next person but I really don’t need to see that when I’m just innocently scrolling through looking for posts to mock.
Fee free to report back with your findingsI’ve just downloaded the app![]()
