Netflix have cancelled Sandman. They are spinning it like series 2 fully covers the rest of Dreams arc so no need for more. Series 1 covered most of the first arc of the comic, so they are either skipping a lot of material, not doing the full story or rushing.

Edit : I have seen comments on reddit speculating that they could just focus on the ' Brief Lives' and ' 'Kind Ones' arcs and that would be most of his story covered anyway. I think the ending of the story may have less impact since we have spent less time with the characters. We shall see i guess.

I bet audible are kicking themselves on not getting the full adaptation out already. They probably have a lot recorded and ready to go. Do they put it out anyway? Or scrap the whole thing?

Glad he’s getting cancelled, think it’s better for actors etc to lose their roles this time around and protect their future careers and reputation. I presume agencies will have some sort of contingency where work is pulled due to adverse publicity around someone else involved in the production

Yep saw the stuff about Sandman was always going to be two series posts and thought it was shifty. Just do what they’ve done for the Good Omens graphic novel and be upfront about it. I think it’d be a good precedent to stay saying ‘we are cancelling/changing our plans for this book/show/series because it’s come to light that X is an abuser and we don’t want to give them any cash of kudos’ or something like that anyway

Has anyone seen this? It’s really pissed me off this morning, no context to the situation Scarlet was in or nuance about how sexual predators ‘work’.

I know it’s just meant to be reporting unbiasedly, but one vague mention of babysitting working, then one quick mention of other accusations isn’t very accurate is it.

That narc message he sent her all ‘boo hoo, Amanda says you’re going to Me Too me’ (Me Too me? Really? What an odd and gross way to put it) could have easily been written by my abuser. Absolutely classic.

Maybe I’m being harsh to the journalist here, but I feel a bit sick, he’s disgusting.

As I have said before ( maybe in this or Amanda thread), even if it turns out that that that the allegations are false, I can not trust someone who conducts there private life in such a gross way

I am sure she will have had advice before agreeing to breach her NDA. You are also on dodgy ground using an NDA if if covers ' criminal' behaviour. Depends on how legal it is to ask for sex acts instead of rent...

He is really rolling in muck like a pig here.
He isn't trying to defend himself by saying it was a misunderstanding, or the NDA was to cover an affair and the rest is lies/exaggeration etc.

He is embarrassed he was caught, not embarrassed about what he did.

I genuinely thought I’d unfollowed Gaiman but apparently not. And i was at work and a bit bored so I read it.
It ’proves’ absolutely nothing at all. It just seems to be a collection of screenshots of people being mean to him and the suggestion that there was a collective coordinated “take down” of him by terfs and antisemites.
Don’t get me wrong, the Antisemitism is absolutely vile to read. But it proved nothing.
Id go so far as to say that either him or Palmer wrote the substack too

According to the blinds, he wants to make a comeback so paid a reporter to spruce up a story by cherry picking things but they doubt it will work as there are more people who could come forward who haven't yet.

Haven't read that article but it's pure arrogance to even think about making a comeback. He's rich enough to just disappear, fight or settle the cases and live out of the limelight. But no, he wants to try to win back the adoration and attention. Disgusting creep.

From what I can see, the judge said that the crimes need to be tried in NZ as that's where they happened. Not that they're believing or disbelieving them.
