It would be nice to see different people have the chance to represent huge events. There are some great people out there who don’t have a large following however achieved great things in the running world.

I don’t think you have to have achieved great things to represent. Otherwise it becomes very elitist. What I do feel is they promote and say they are ambassadors for personal gain and not to do with the actual company / organisation.
Take Murphyruns for example, flora, brooks, royal parks, that baby pram company. You really think she is a true role model for these brands and they hand selected her due to her affiliations and/or presence in the running world! Absolutely not. She will have hand selected and reached out / begged to be involved. Royal parks don’t even follow her on instagram! Flora have absolutely nothing to do with her, and as for brooks, that’s just such a terrible “run happy” group. They all are. Best runners for advice and guidance are now on YouTube not instagram.

At what point does she go away? There is no development or reasoning behind her page or posts anymore. Now we get to see her child al the time, which respectfully no one is interested in.

I really dislike that lot, but feel that's a little unfair. What does a 'non-terrible' runner look like?

I meant the trainers / footwear themselves look terrible. Not the individual people. The trainers look so clunky and slow

No I didn’t see her Q/A, I’ve actually unfollowed her now as she makes my skin crawl and actually gives me the ick. Her name came up on the school run this week (gossip moms) and everyone said they’d unfollowed her but her following numbers stays the same!

part of me actually feels sorry for her, she’s clearly a narcissist so doesn’t mind bad attention it’s just no attention she doesn’t like.

I’m sure she’ll be fine and hope her baby is too. I just feel she needs to step away from instagram, concentrate on a career and being a mother. She’s harmless, just bloody irritating

So what did she do on the 14th to lose 3.5k followers…. Oh yes, she brought a followers package that only lasted 30 days. Clearly if this was a true following then this wouldn’t happen right?

I was actually a fan of hers until I saw that she double her following and went from about 12k for 30k! Then she stories about her uplift in followers and deleted it soon after! Clearly saw here or was told about it, but she’s now either deleting followers or lost them due to them being fake accounts

A few of my running friends have also unfollowed her and mentioned how cringe they find her. The photos of her baby lying in a hospital bed did it for me, not ok.
She can’t be very senior in her career. Imagine having a team of people underneath you and posting the kind of stuff she does. I’d be embarrassed as a manager.
agreed, harmless but irritating. She’s not even that pretty, just an average Joe with shit content.

Her smug face! I think it’s sad her baby has been unwell. I feel bad for her about that. I did find the photos of him lying on the hospital bed a bit distressing. As a parent, I wouldn’t dream of posting my sick children on my Instagram stories for thousands of people to see. Another cry for attention. I can’t see any other reason why someone would post something so personal.

Absolutely agree 100%.
She isn’t in the public eye.
There is no public interest in why she’s gone quiet.
If it were a hospitalisation due to a misadventure or accident, you could share the “after” as a warning to those who might follow her.

But for something like this, it’s odd to go so heavy on it.

I expect her to be pregnant again this year. Wonder if her partner / husband (who she rarely shows ) is embarrassed by her or just lets her crack on?

I noticed a post yesterday stating she’d completed 4 runs and 3 strength workouts. so what? I agree that there has been very little development from her, basic back to running after a baby. She still manages to get a lot of influencer and ambassador work and who knows why. I would never put my children on a public forum with so many followers when there are some very strange people out there. You need to be careful as you never know who is watching.

I reckon a mix of both. It’s not like any of her posts have suddenly got loads more engagement than previously so it’s obvious something is amiss.

What Brooks don’t realise is the majority of her followers are fake or pervy men. As if they care about brooks running shoes.

I saw that too and thought it was very weird! I've had two kids and whilst I am conscious of my mum tum, I can't help but think if you're going to film yourself and not want it to be on show then surely film yourself higher up?

ETA - I know it's hot in the south atm, but I have some very good and very cool running tops that are perfect for 30+ degree weather without needing to get my tum out.

True but she's away it looks like and I wouldn't be wearing a top abroad, but then I also wouldn't be filming myself

The ‘getting ready with me’ post that she has done (and many other influencers) are completely pointless. “Look at me getting ready for a run” - why is this engaging? Runnerbeans has done a lot of these lately. I don’t see the point in the content, am I missing something? It’s not educational or helping me in any way. I’m sure we all know how to get ready for a run.

She mentioned last year I think it was that she had someone send her something and it was a follower who some how got hold of her address. She said she was going to be more private, she’s the complete opposite. Just remember these basic individuals don’t care about negative comments or negative attention, it’s no attention they hate! I don’t know why she gets my back up so much. She is a very basic runner, doesn’t seem to have a career, doesn’t have anything that inspires me or others. I genuinely wonder what she would be doing without social media. She’s very forgettable as once you got past the blonde her and showing her body off (not the best) she’s got absolutely nothing else

I think someone’s point on the other runners thread that they have only really ditched people with low followers is right. Alex m is off but she is always in all Nike so that is obvious, I don’t think they are still going as strict as Asics though it seems

Showing off £500 for a hotel stay for London marathon? Sorry but this made me want to cry. I wish I had £500 to put food on the table for my family at the moment! So insensitive, especially with the cost of living going up.

So many places cheaper to stay that night in London, just means a bit of travel to the start in the morning. She can’t complain at having to spend £500 on a Holiday Inn when she could get Nobu for the same price. She’s just being lazy.
