"This is a thread where we all have to pretend we actually really, really do answer the door girls and make up hilarious sitcom scenarios"

edit- although the dog comment made me genuinely laugh loudly!
Mormons in the street I just tell I have a coffee addiction.

Mormons! Memories of eating our way through the pounds and pounds of spaghetti we got from the Mormons during COVID. I tried to give some to my mom. She was hoping I’d take her supply from her. Even the food bank didn’t want it as they had so much.

A post from the 'A dog stole my picnic' thread

Lucky for the OP that the dog owner doesn’t know who she is as she could be reported to the RSPCA for cruelty to the poor dog. Very irresponsible to leave your food and run off

Now I've got "Mormons in the street" to the tune of "Islands in the stream" in my head

We've got a live one in the thread about a (really bleeping) annoying man ordering a communal starter....

I hate the way they use contractions and drop the word "got" on MN. "You've not" sounds like Hyacinth Bouquet trying to sound posh when it just sounds affected.

I also hate "needs gone" with a fiery rage, although I think that might be a regional thing.

Mormons in the street,
I am so sorry -
We cannot talk today,
I like to drink coffee

You are wasting youth
Going door-to-door
When you should be drunkenly shagging, uh-huuuhh

I always loved the name lettuce (or Lettice), I would obvs never call a kid it, but there is a character with the name in a Miss Marple, and it just seemed 'right'.

There was a great little thread the other day! - I don’t know how this school mum does it - brilliant mix of ‘I’m that mum OP, I look great got a six figure job, it’s just me!’ and ‘people clean their houses? I’m confused? I’ve got better things to do than clean my skirting boards!’

ETA there was also the lovely comments saying her life might look perfect but I bet her husband beats her up/her husband cheats on her/she has mental health issues

Same here - ‘Have you any friends who can help?’ and the like. Absolutely affected is the word. I bet many of them live rurally 🥴 too…
