In my job I quite often come across older people whose family don't speak to them, or only see them once a year. After spending some time with them, it's usually very obvious why that is.

One of my sisters works in elderly dementia care and she says some of her patients never get visitors, despite having sons, daughters and grandchildren. She says it’s often not the dementia that stops them coming, it’s because they’ve been absolute thundercunts all their lives, neglectful and abusive for the most part. Just because someone looks like a sweet old person doesn’t mean they are! It’s sad.
I've decided MN need to ban posters who respond to a query with "well I asked AI and". It's even worse than "well I asked DH and". Do they think the OP couldn't have asked ChatGPT? They aren't even doing it in the classic "let me Google that for you" pointed way. They genuinely think it's adding to the conversation.

Quite obviously the answer is to buy a photo of a log fire and paste it to the wall. With a live, love, laugh decal and some glue on mirror hearts all around it.
