MN have finally changed their platform (not that I can see any changes) and there are people announcing that the change is upsetting them so much that its making them cry.

I give up.
haha when I read your post I just assumed you were joking or exaggerating a little but after having been on there, you’re not are you?! They’re even sending each other the flowers emoji and ‘unmumsnetty hugs’ which is when you know serious tit has gone down 🤣

they’re all nuts!!

Years ago I suffered pregnancy losses and found MN invaluable for support and advice but these days the place is a joke.

A couple of years ago I was having some employment issues and sought advice on there. I got absolutely hammered. Went to the Union anyway and got what I wanted very easily due to them breaching various policies and legal stuff. I'd have loved to report back but closed my account due to the pack of witches shooting me down when I was actually pretty vulnerable.

Was looking at the threads for those trying to conceive, I know it’s a sensitive subject for some but why do they post pictures of their pregnancy tests that are very obviously positive but still ask others “is this positive??” 🤦🏽‍♀️ Same with tests that are negative “can you see another line??” when there is nothing there at all?

They do this with their LFT’s in the Covid forum as well.

Anyone reading the ‘how much do you spend on shopping a week’ thread in AIBU? Someone feeds 6 people for £50 😂

I lurk now and again. I remember one time someone asked about baby names saying she liked the name Madeline and people were saying things like 'your child won't thank you for naming it after a infamous child abduction murder victim' and 'No, no,no...anyone who calls their child Madeline is sick'

It was unreal. Madeline's a nice useable name. I would like to think the woman ignored these nutters and went on to use it.

Unless you make it up, are there any names without ‘connotations’ celebrity, royal, murderer, victim, rapist, your ex boyfriend, your husbands ex wife, your relative already used the name etc. if someone told me they called their baby Madeline I wouldn’t think ‘oh yes, like the little girl who was abducted’. When people say their name is jack no one thinks ‘the ripper’!

I think if you're dying for a positive result, you want to share when it's a definite positve. Likewise if it's negative you're hoping someone else can see a line that you can't 🤷‍♀️

What does everyone think of the stepmum who didnt get her stepchildren easter eggs but got their 3 year old together one because he should buy his own kids eggs? I think its mean spirited personality she sounds nasty . If youre going to begrudge picking up an egg for them don't get with someone who has children.
so many step mums like this. I pity their own children

But remember this is the same site where the majority of posters absolutely insist that once your own child turns 18, they need to be out of the family home and working and supporting themselves.

They cannot abide Stepmom, stepchildren or men!

I've seen replies where they truly believe you should do nothing for your stepchild, you don't but any presents for your stepchild, your stepchild cannot come on your holiday yet no one in real life acts like that.

Same as they advocate that you shouldn't be in contact with your husbands family as it's his family and not yours so any presents or cards for them are strictly to be arranged by him and not you. Its abusive if you do this!
they definitely do act like that. That’s exactly how my ex husbands, partner behaves

Yes exactly, that's why I found it unreal. There's a lot of idiots out there.

My favourite baby name threads are the ones where people say ‘I love classic names like Victoria and Marie but they’re already in use in my family, anyone have ideas for alternatives?’ And they get replies like ‘what about river-rain, Bailey-Rae or Dandelion’.

The replatform looks awful and is very glitchy. I won’t be using Mumsnet any more. I wonder how much this upgrade cost them.

It’s literally unusable for many people. I’ve been asked to sign on every time I’ve been on there and then every time I go to a new page (whether that’s the second page of a thread or just back into the main page or onto a new thread) I have to do the data consent thing. Made more annoying by the fact when I press a thread it often goes onto the wrong one so I have to do data consent then go back a page and do data consent then click the thread I wanted (and hope it opens the right one this time) and do data consent again. So I just deleted my account.

I'm finding the OP at the top of every page very confusing. I've read it every time thinking it's the OP posting again!

My fiance is American and knows two or three people with little girls (around 7-10 years old) named Myra, would Mumsnet insist that name never be used again because of Myra Hindley (regardless of how long ago it was and the Moors Murders not being that well known outside the UK?)
