Mumsnet keeps scrolling me to the top if I come off the page which is annoying. Also why are thread links like this now with so much empty space?
I'm having the same issue and have to log in everytime I want to post.

Has anyone read the post about the herbs and spices. It's a weird one and I didnt realise how strong feelings were towards herbs and spices.

Apparently if you dont use them in all meals, you are eating like a pauper 😂 someone does a 30 mile round trip to get their herbs and spices and cannot believe people dont have access to herbs

The Ukrainian guest one is indeed awful. And yes there’s nowhere near enough support for people leaving war torn countries who may well be in need of trauma counselling. We don’t even get enough for our own families but that’s not the fault of the Ukrainian people (or anyone else) who moves here . The answer lies in campaigning not in blaming some poor sod who is deeply traumatised by the war they have moved away from.
Been taken down.

My favourite was the person who suggested that if someone had 10 pounds a week for food and found a pound on the floor, they could buy spices with it!

Anyone reading the 'He ate my soup thread'? So sad. It's threads like that make me feel so affectionate about MN. I moan about them, but I have to admit MN has helped a LOT of women gain clarity and discover the latent confidence needed to rebuild their lives.

What was the reason for the Ukrainian thread being taken down? I saw a few posts this morning but have only just looked again to see it had been deleted.

There wasn't a specific reason given, the deletion message said something about 'best it's taken down now'. Probably just descended into arguments.

What does everyone think of the stepmum who didnt get her stepchildren easter eggs but got their 3 year old together one because he should buy his own kids eggs? I think its mean spirited personality she sounds nasty . If youre going to begrudge picking up an egg for them don't get with someone who has children.
I got banned for commenting on that thread… it seemed very drip feed to me & potentially troll like … anyway I’ve found tattle and agree with other posters much more supportive than MN ( with a dose a straight talk😅)

My least favourite thing about it is a man does anything (seems to be no matter how big or small) and the response is always "leave him". Like seriously there would be a serious about of divorce, separation and single parents if every woman on Mums Net listened to the advice!

I really hate how when people post looking for relationship advice there it's treated like entertainment. People suggesting OP's partner is definitely having an affair on the slimmest of evidence, demanding to know why she hasn't confronted them after two hours and begging for updates, as if there's not a real person behind the post who's potentially going to be really upset by the responses.

Or if the man in the relationship has shared his opinion he's controlling and manipulative and she needs to leave. So bizzare. They must all be really miserable.

Probably things like the allegations that Ukrainian men are pimps and they're all racists 'in their culture'. Stuff like that - the bit that doesn't look too great for MN.

😬😳 yikes, I missed that - the thread was only about a page and a half long when I saw it.

I was thinking about this today. Tattle has a horrible reputation, and I don't really understand why. The basic premise is to gossip and say what we think about people in the public eye in any way shape or form - we don't have to like them, and I suppose sometimes it can be quite cruel, but it's usually meant with a joke or at least a certain point at the heart. So, public targets, in the public eye whether they like it or not.

I've never seen anyone be gratuitously rude or say something hurtful to another poster here. Yes of course there's the odd spat, but it's always resolved by agreeing to differ and then moving on.

Whereas on that other site... its like its a game to be as horrible as you like to another poster to gain brownie points or something. I dont get it - if you think someone's a twit why engage with them?

I agree. I can’t say for eg X is lying, what they’re showing is a prerecord and they should have to mark it as an ad as well - where the person in question will never see it unless they go looking on a gossip site for gossip about themselves. However I could go on mumsnet and say ‘wow, you sound like a narcissist and an awful parent who is damaging their child, I hope when they grow up they never speak to you again and move far away from you. Fingers crossed someone close to you calls social services because of the damage you’re causing your poor child’ because they’re giving their kid a chocolate biscuit and it’s their packed lunch and have complained to the school when they took it off of him. Or I can go on style and beauty and tell someone they look like a large old hag and should wear the next size up, get highlights and moisturise. I can tell someone they’re being over dramatic and a witch because they’ve asked their husband not to go on a three week holiday leaving during her giving birth. I can say all kinds of things to people but I’m not allowed to say Amanda Holdens new lips are too big where she’ll never see it 😂

The worst that can be said is a minority of tattlers are unnecessarily sarcastic to other members. But most of us just ignore posts we don't agree with or aren't interested in. Mumsnetters need to express their opinion at all times and they don't give a duck how offensive or irrelevant it is. They jump to conclusions a lot too and are easily offended, something I don't see here much.

Tattle is probably the nicest, friendliest forum I’ve ever posted on. And I’ve posted on loads over the years.

It's the sneering I dislike the most on Mumsnet, I haven't seen any on Tattle. Plus threads on here aren't deleted at the drop of a hat. A lot of posters on there are bitter, miserable and easily offended. There could be a really interesting thread on there and someone will wade in and make sneery miserable comments to make themselves feel better.

Agreed! I was made to believe (on Mumsnet, strangely enough 🧐) that Tattle was utterly vile. Thank goodness I found out for myself that this couldn’t be further from the truth.
