My aunt’s dog is ableist. The first time the wee thing saw my dad walking on crutches (he’s disabled and even on crutches it’s not exactly graceful) he was scared of him and hid in a corner. Took him a few days to get used to it, the dog had simply never seen anyone on crutches before…..
Anyone reading the thread about dogs being racist? They surely cannot be serious?
Also - dogs are transphobic.

I was walking my dogs a few years ago (pre-covid, so a while), I met two ladies with their rescue dog. I was admiring the dog and chatting to them when a TW approached and asked to pet the dog. The dog was pulling back away from him and he was squatting down trying to reach her. ("Hello, sweetie, hello. I won't hurt you" etc). The women apologised but said that the dog had been badly abused before they got her and was still very frightened of men. You wouldn't believe the foul abuse that followed that. It was frightening.

If you were really posh like my dear departed Muvva you would have smoked Sobranie Cocktail cigarettes. Mind you, they were very pretty colours. She used to buy them if she was going to a dinner dance.
Fifty-odd years ago, in my first job, I had colleague who used to smoke black cigarettes. I thought she was soooooo cool. I'venever smoked, or really wanted to, but was very tempted when I saw her with those. She always looked fabulous, too - very slender, and always wore black - occasionally a flash of white in a blouse or scarf. And I know it's a cliché, but she really did seem to live off coffee and fags. Non-cliché - she was a really good pool player. Tru fact.

What a smug bleep!

Sadly I'm a renter so I have to just hand my Kindle to any visitors to show them all the books I've read before they come in. It's in my grab bag by the front door because I just assume I'll be evicted on any given day so am ready to go.

When I was at uni, I was a pretentious twit and used to have a copy of Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh on my bedside table and a copy of the latest chicklit hidden under my pillow. Oh how I cringe, looking back! I also used to pretend to like Leonard Cohen to impress some bloke when really I preferred boybands.

It’s perfectly acceptable to be a bit of a wanker at 18 I feel. It’s when you’re 38 and still prominently displaying your copy of War and Peace that it’s a problem.

They don’t do lighthearted do they??? Can you imagine them at a comedy show - that thread is bonkers. They need to eat some bloody bread and they wouldn’t be so angry all the time

Did anyone notice BIWI started an indignant thread in Site Stuff demanding to know why her posts were deleted. MN’s response?

A lonely old lady (61 so absolutely ancient) has asked how to stave off boredom in the evenings. She already gardens, does jigsaws, listens to audiobooks, is in a book club, sings in a choir etc but that doesn't stop the hard of reading suggesting all of these activities. A few posts in and she's been diagnosed with ADHD. Mumsnet eh? Why can't people just be bored and ask for inspiration without the internet medics rushing to stick a label on them?
She probably isn’t bored; it’ll just be that the dementia means she forgets all the stuff she’s been busy with 🤷‍♀️

Sadly, I really would believe it. In fact, I would have been surprised if they’d shrugged and said ‘Yeah, kind of daft of anyone to expect a dog to acknowledge and respect a person’s self-declared, internal gender identity rather than responding to their biological reality’.

Dogs are such TERFs 🙄

Oh yeah Consulate were such an after dinner smoke.
Vogues. Those beautiful skinny cigarettes you can only buy on the continent. I don’t care what anyone says, I look cool as duck smoking and it is the best way to stay skinny so it irks me infinitely that I prefer being alive these days and can’t smoke 😩😂 I’ve never found a breakfast to rival an americano (think black) and a cigarette (think cancer).

Anyone seen the ‘things you should care about but don’t’ thread? Four posts in and we have a ‘do you lack comprehension skills?’ post and they’re all losing their minds over ducks being fed bread

The black dogs thing is definitely true. Dog owners often comment that their dogs are afraid of, or act aggressively towards black dogs but not with other colours, and I've seen it with my own dogs, too.
Lady a couple of doors down from me had two dogs, one black one brown. My dog bleeping hated the brown one, loved the black one. Even if he was walking past the house in the other side of the road my dog's radar was alerted and he was snarling at the window.when they met it was mayhem, ok with other dogs just the evil brown one lol.

Are they concerned about whether bread is safe for ducks or is it just arguing over brands?

Jam Slags anyone ??? Be a great Drag name
OP probably faked an autocorrect because they like babies being woken up and keyboards splattered with coffee.

I do actually rather like Leonard Cohen. But no other fucker in my house does so I have to listen alone or when I get together with my brother, which sadly doesn't happen much as he lives quite far away (think 200 miles)
