Tbf, I've had 3 coils fitted now......but with an epidural because I'm a wimp ( I've had kids and I'm still a wimp )
First one, the doc who was a double of Sir Robert Winston, injected my cervix to numb it!! In fairness, we were laughing over something stupid so I barely felt it.
Second one was by a double of Nurse Rachett and had the same personality. She was mostly surprised when I threatened to kick her teeth down her throat if she didn't stop what she was doing.....hence the epidural ever since 😂

There’s a thread called ‘Absolutely LIVID at the BBC’ trending at the moment. Can’t be arsed to read It to see what’s annoyed them so much, but just switch it off if you don’t like it 😂

The one about the 16 yo sitting on their dad's knee is the most made-up thread ever. Pure LGTB-baiting.

I actually entirely agree that its a perfectly fine outfit, but its never been cutting edge style which is the bracket OP seemed to see herself in!
Multiple people replied saying they would still wear it anyway, & OP (paraphrasing) couldn't believe that these people were reading/interested in the style & beauty boards as they were obviously so out of touch, as if when she wore it last Summer, it was the height of fashion.

Oh, definitely not cutting edge anything - it's pure camouflage when surrounded by middle aged, middle class stalwarts of the community.

I'm particularly enjoying the AIBU where the OP is pissed off about paying £25 per night to her in laws on a caravan site where it would cost about 10x as much commercially

I’ve had the coil fitted twice. Once before children and it hurt so much during and after I made them remove it a week later, and once after children and it was still bleeping awful. Anything that requires my uterus to be jacked open like they’re changing the tyre on a car can absolutely duck off tbh

It doesn't help that they completely disregard gynae pain as unimportant. There are ways to make coils and IUD insertion, and even basic pelvic exams, SO much less painful, but they don't give two damns about our pain. Such nonsense, to use the most polite phrasing possible. The only person I've ever known who didn't have an agonizing experience was my best friend, and that's because they put it in while she was under general anaesthetic.

@Iamonlyhereforthetea I saw that thread too and assumed it was people researching their family history. Not people they have no connection with.

Don't get me wrong - I studied the Holocaust at university and there were times I had to step away from the source material. It is upsetting content and I did take time to reflect on the horrors of what I was reading.

But it's not something I'd feel driven to post about Mumsnet 🤷

I’m on HRT now but suffer with heavy periods and a coil was suggested. A few years ago my best mate turned up on my doorstep grey, clammy and completely hysterical. Turned out she’d been to have a coil removed.
she’s a tough old bird as well so to see the quivering wreck this a of a Doctor had reduced her to Scared the tit out of me and there is not a hope I’d have one fitted.

You know that if men needed to have smear tests or coils fitted they’d have found a less painful and invasive way by now.

And sanitary products would be free, and the abortion pills would be available over the counter, and and and UGH

Did anyone follow the thread about the woman saying what she does as opposed to what her OH does in the house. She listed out chores she does that he doesn't such as filling the dogs water bowl and boiling the kettle....this turned into over a 1000 replies to AIBU, these people are crazy 🤪

Filling doggo’s water bowl is not a bleeping chore 🤣
Wait, who's saying it's a chore? LMAO, it takes thirty seconds! Something I do whilst 95% asleep because my beast (ok it's a cat but same concept) insists it needs doing in the middle of the night. Hardly a chore, unless it's something you have a kid do to get them used to "chores"?

Wednesday weirdo.
Today's pick is a woman who has a nine week old baby.
She is shocked and embarrassed beyond belief that her mother in law has opened a bank account for said baby. Yes, shocked and embarrassed beyond belief.
The sheer audacity of it, how dare she do such a thing for her grandchild without the mother's express permission!!
Not only that, but baby's father was in on the plot to undermine his wife by colluding with his mother and not valuing his wife's opinion.
The utter b!

I know, that was a really strange one. It was really hard to tell if it was genuine and what the exact problem was!

I spend too much time online when I can't sleep, sigh. It can muddle your brain.

I'm convinced it's a troll, but then again, reading some of the MN posters, I'm not so sure.
90% of them come across as unhinged.

My MIL colluded with OH and sorted out a savings account for our daughter and has the audacity to pay into it!
I was incredibly grateful! (Did I pitch it wrong?) 🤣
