She might as well have took her birthday money and set it on fire in the garden. Imagine the difference that could make to their house by investing in some fucking paint
Why does she HAVE to spend her birthday money? She is so materialistic. I get birthday/Xmas money. I spend some on bits I have wanted for ages then I save the rest for a rainy day!

Yeah I always save it until there’s something I really want, or put it towards a larger ‘investment’ purchase like a handbag or piece of jewellery. Even when I was a child I wouldn’t have spunked it all away in one day on a trip to the outlet village, literally buying any piece of cut priced tat in sight

Sameeeeee!!!
It’s different if I got money because I needed a new item of furniture/cooking utensils/ or some spending money for an up coming holiday. I would never be like great- now I am off to the shops to spend every last penny!
Just shows how wasteful she is, I don't think she's even bothered about what she's bought, just that she's spent money on it. What a sad little life she leads. I really do feel that the money and spending is being used to fill a very unhappy void in her life. She's gone from comfort eating to comfort spending.
Who needs 3 new bags, two new jumpsuits and all the crap she got today. Even someone with an actual social life would struggle to make use of all that, let alone Bav who thinks a trip to Costco or the PTA meeting is going out and socialising!

I agree with this....I would feel so guilty spending so much money on myself when I could use it to improve the home of my family and we could all benefit from it. She is definitely filling an emotional void with the spending, it gives her a buzz. I'm thankful I don't need all the material shite and get a buzz from a bar of dairy milk and a cup of tea!
She teaches the kids exactly the same. They get money for their birthdays and she either takes them the same day to get something or the day after to spend all of it in 1 go.

I was thinking and especially now we've seen her mum having to go to SW too. Was Bav an overweight child and teen who couldn't have the clothes and things she wanted and now at 31 is trying desperately to get back what she lost.
What amazes me is she's had a full day spending her money but her son has had to wait to go and spend his. I'd rather the kids go and spend there birthday/Xmas money first. Selfish!
