Does anyone know if monkey pox is one of those things that are in rats and squirrels in Europe but we just don't come into close enough contact with them, or does it only exist in Africa.
Because the outbreak is all in Europe, it doesn't look like it's comes from Africa. Which makes me think it's jumped from an animal here into people. Or we've lost some sort of immunity we had before.

They don't know where it's come from ,they think a patient zero who was asymptomatic could be the cause as it not endemic in western animals that they know of .
It could be down to some sort immunity loss when you think of the rare hep cases in kids of unknown origin ,they're still no closer to finding a cause for that either.

Could this all be a knock on effect of the lockdowns and over sanitation. People did voice concers over the effect it will have on our immune systems not coming into contact with others.
The outbreaks seem to all over the place for it to be one patient zero. Or could it be passed through food coming out of Africa. They said it could pass on bedding.
If it was a Chinese style lockdown ,maybe ? but people were pretty much still mixing behind closed doors , the rate of viral illnesses were still pretty high except for flu . What food do Africa ship to the EU ? A patient zero is a possibility if they were at a superspreader event like the pride festival where people had travelled from all over ,then carry it back to their own countries .
Africa supplies lots of fresh fruit and vegetables to the EU and to the U.K. from Brexit the U.K has imported more from Africa than ever before.
Is it found in fruit and veg ? I thought it was only meat (especially bush meat) that wasn't cooked properly .
Don’t think it is, and I guess the food would have to be from the parts of Africa it’s found so I think it’s unlikely it’s being spread by food? Seems more plausible it would be from someone unknowingly being at a big event or something.
It’s all a bit strange and I know ill sound like a conspiracy theorist but somethings very strange that western countries are being affected by this straight after a huge vaccine roll out of 3-4 vaccines. Maybe all this over sanitisation of everything is making viruses spread easier now that things aren’t cleaned as sterile as they had been for the past 2 years.
It is strange especially as the UK seems to be more affected than the rest of the western countries yet had the flimsiest lockdown
