It's been going on for a while, but it was never as bad as it is now.

Starting from about 2007 there were quite a few:
  • Peaches Geldof
  • Pixie Geldof
  • Daisy Lowe
  • Alice Dellal
  • Leah Wood
  • Mickey Sumner (Sting and Trudie Styler's daughter)
  • (I guess before them, Jade Jagger and Keith Richards' daughters would have counted?)
I remember one agency even created a special division for Pixie, Daisy and Alice Dellal, but it then closed, and they moved to a different agency (article pasted below).

The fact of the matter is that celeb kids already have fame, and by brands booking them for ad campaigns and catwalk shows, they know they will get featured in the Daily Mail etc. and will get social media buzz.

What's also in these nepo babies' favour is that plastic surgery is very advanced now, and fillers and botox are easily available and are an easy way to make someone look more model-like.

It's crap, and IMO it's contributed to stopping genuine models and supermodels from ascending.

Pixie Geldof, Daisy Lowe and Alice Dellal leave Select Models

Pixie Geldof, Dasiy Lowe and Alice Dellal have all left Select Model Management, amongst rumours that their party girl reputations have caught up with them.
The London agency confirmed today that it had closed its talent section, and would no longer be representing all three girls: 'It's correct we no longer have a talent section in our agency. This included girls such as Lowe and Geldof but we cannot comment on individuals because of legal issues.'

Despite a source telling the Daily Mail, 'All the girls were being pictured partying hard. They were becoming over-exposed in the papers which is probably why Select thought the agency was moving in the wrong direction', the girls' new agency, Next, said this couldn't be further from the truth.

'We are delighted to welcome Daisy Lowe, Pixie Geldof, and Alice Dellal amongst other top names to Next Model Management,' London office director, Amanda Bretherton, said.

'We pride ourselves on being one of the very top global model agencies and these girls will certainly benefit from moving to a company with offices in all the fashion capitals of the World.

'They all have an international profile and are regarded as true professionals within the fashion industry. We are sure that they will be eagerly sought after by our most prestigious and exclusive clients. '

The trio, who are regulars on the London social circuit, have all enjoyed huge success on the fashion scene.
All three have starred in Agent Provocateur campaigns, while Geldof fronted ads New Look, and Lowe has posed for DKNY, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Pringle.

I missed Amber Le Bon off this list, she was everywhere in the late 2010s.

Wasn’t Cara Delevingne a nepo baby too?
She is from a very wealthy family and IIRC her godfather is Nicholas Coleridge who was chairman of Conde Naste. However, I think she would have made it as a model on her own merit, as she was very striking and unique.

What I don't think would have happened without her connections is her elevation to a global supermodel, and then a career as an actress. She was a good model but not that great, and became oversaturated. IMO she's also not a good actress at all, but is still getting chances at it.

duck knows.
She inherited her father's looks - the poor woman. Including his nose.
She has a right nose on her.
Absolutely not a model, in any shape or form.

To me she always look like she's scowling. I seriously don't get the appeal

As for Leah Wood, I think she has a quirky look and I quite like her nose. But absolutely not a model, totally agree

It honestly is a bit depressing that all these nepo babies got opportunities handed to them but women who genuinely have the model factor are getting ignored. Besides, is it not a more exciting story that a model was plucked from obscurity, e.g Kate Moss at an airport coming back from holidays, rather than "she's such and such's granddaughter, daughter etc"

The only ones of the above that I thought were any good as models were one of the Richards girls (Theodora) and also Georgia May Jagger.
Both of those had stunning mothers. Jerry Hall - and Patti Hansen was and is a beauty.

Leah Wood seems quite likeable but agree not cut out for modelling

Does anyone remember that Agyness Deyn was everywhere for a short time in the 00s then seemed to disappear? What happened there? I thought she was overhyped.

Completely forgot about Agyness Deyn! Yes, she was everywhere in the late 2010s. I agree that she was overhyped, but she seemed a nice person.

I also missed off Suki Waterhouse from my nepo models list.

She wanted to pursue acting I think. Don’t think it ever got off the ground though. In early 2010’s she married Giovanni Ribisi, (I only know because he left his previous fiancé Cat Power’s for her, breaking poor Cat’s heart and inspiring her next album), divorced G, married a hedge fund manager, had a baby, and seems to have disappeared from limelight. Quite a different aesthetic from her heyday.

Finished The Super Models and came away feeling so sad for Linda Evangelista. All the other women seem to have a purpose that drives them apart from modelling - Cindy's got her brands, Christy and Naomi have charities - but Linda's still wistful for her modelling career as well as battling cancer and her disfigurement. She was so broken and melancholy compared to the other three, made me feel worried for her.

She really seemed to be coasting tbh as I think she was told she'd make it whatever happened. She did a few campaigns but didn't seem to really try
