I find this era fascinating- I was 20 in 1996 (I probably bought this very issue!) and we just thought it was entirely normal. Women were so heavily sexualised, it was horrendous when you look back on it. My boyfriend at uni and all his friends had posters of women all over their walls from magazines, lads’ mags etc and we just accepted it - women just treated as bits and ass, basically.
I don’t find it offensive. It’s a women’s magazine aimed at women talking about how a woman has a great mind and legs. What’s the big deal? We talk about how we like models looks here, that’s not us reducing women to their looks and nothing else

Yes that’s true, but at least it’s optional whether you choose to view it or not - posters were literally everywhere. It’s no better now, granted, just different.

I’ve just found this thread. Omg, I was (am) obsessed by these models. I saw Christy in NYC in 2002 and she was so beautiful. As in, I can’t believe you are real beautiful.
I’m holding out hope for the Disney thing.
Does anyone rewatch the September Issue, I love that film. The shoots that Grace Coddington did in the film were unbelievable.
Totally agree with this past/current comparison. I thought Lily Cole had a certain look. She seems to have gone on to do good things. Agnes or Gnesss or whatever looks completely different now.

Naomi reportedly had very very close ties to epstein and is involved with human trafficking. All alleged!
And links with blood diamonds via De Beers (I think was the brand???).
If diamonds are involved it's De Beers.

It’s a Disney + series called vogue: the 90s. It’s about the supers/ Anna and Grace/ grunge/ McQueen and Galiano etc. Only three episodes on at the moment.
