This is going to be a disaster if she does manage to get finance. I don't think she realises the actual cost and implications if she defaults on it, along with various things that she will still need to pay for. Has she updated her UC and everything that she has a partner 'living' with her, if she hasn't then that will bring trouble and also they will expect him to afford everything. Can he afford to pay for a car, her rent, both kids, shopping and a whole household. She has to remember she would then only ever entitled to UC equivalent of tax credits and child benefit the kids.

What will the implications be? Single Mum young kids, more to come - who owns absolutely nothing on benefits..£1 a week for the next £30 years. Being in social housing she won't be evicted whilst having kids.

No money sense and money to burn, obviously.
Hello Fresh “keep” taking money, and she hasn’t bothered to actually contact their customer services yet for advice? The public shaming is an obvious grift for compo and freebies.

Was she advertising for them a while ago or was she just buying from them trying to keep up with the Instahuns/trying to blag brand deals?

Is Minnie taking a leaf out of Alex’s book and rage baiting for engagement now?

Judging from the comments, there’s no way anyone with any sense has been telling her to finance her first ever car.

I was wondering why anyone would post such a post.
Is it fishing for a car company to help her out!

Rage baiting /grifting is shameless.

I noticed at least one man commented and a few with no photos.
What pervs are watching her and her young children.

Regardless of the responses she will do what she wants because she wants everything now and used to getting it.

I think they are telling her cause they know she can’t handle the repayments and will duck it all up.

As a single mum, getting tied into ongoing big monthly payments, is one of the stupidest things you can do when you could wait and save. You never know what’s around the corner, as someone like Minnie should well understand by now with all of her house moves, relationship breakdowns, and teen pregnancies.

She’s under 25 so her insurance is likely to be high monthly payments too, plus running and maintenance costs. Add that to her sofa payments and very clear Klarna addiction, and she’s looking at a very real possibility that she might not be able to afford the essentials because she’s

Silly, silly girl.
All of my cars have been on finance as I live rurally and have always needed a car for work etc so waiting until I could afford a car outright was never an option. I am now a single mum, living in social housing and claiming UC alongside a full time wage but still have a car on finance which I can afford. So I'm curious, were you implying that single parents shouldn't finance a car?

This thread isn't about you, HTH.
Yeah I think it's a bit ...reductive to start assuming people's comments are sweeping statements about individual circumstances none of us are privy to tbf. We know the state of Minnie's finances because she chooses to put her information and lifestyle on display for all to see... given what we know about her specifically I, personally, think it's fair to say she absolutely shouldn't commit to financing a car and it would be silly to even consider it. That doesn't mean that I think this applies to everybody in social housing, receiving any form of universal credit or all single parents. It's pretty clear her finances aren't stable, she isn't good with money and she's obviously fickle and irresponsible. It's just a recipe for neverending debt and eventual CCJs, imo.

I'm astounded she's got the finance being a single Mum on benefits. Nothing wrong with a single Mother taking finance.
She must be on full benefit handout?

She is so naieve and stupid. Course it was all done really quickly, sales people get the best commission on the Finance, Extended Warranty, Inside/Outside car protection.

She’s so naive to think them getting her a car the same day = great customer service and not just ‘we want to lock you in before you have chance to reconsider’.

I understand the merit of finance as an option for people who need a car urgently and don’t have savings nor time to save (like if you live rurally for example) but Minnie has options, she has a well connected bus service, she has a boyfriend and neighbours with vehicles if there was an emergency. She just wanted the instant gratification that she’s used to as someone who has had handout after handout and never had to work or save hard.

Speaking of boyfriend, I noticed how comfortably she’s got her feet under the table with his family already too. It looks like they’ve given her a generous welcome. A lot of white South African families are very well off, there’s no doubt in my mind that she’s already seen a lifestyle she wants with them and is preparing the money honey trap. She’ll have another baby within the year, I bet.

Maybe I'm out of touch but buying a car without even seeing it in person, nevermind test driving it?? Risky... to say the absolute least. Then again, as it buying your very first car on finance like. Good luck to her, unfortunately I think she's going to need it.

She's got the car, it needs insuring, fuel, tax , maintenance. Wonder if she got insurance quotes. We bought a 5 year old car the end of last year. So far it has had £800 of very necessary repairs 🤨.MOT due autumn, I know it will need one or at least 2 tyres that's a few hundred just for the tyres. Service at some point ready for winter. BLOODY CARS.

Insurance companies reward you for being organised, as the theory is people who plan ahead are less likely to get into accidents. The cheapest insurance quotes are ~23 days before the start of your policy, according to Martin Lewis. I always have it set in my calendar to look at insurance quotes 3 weeks before my policy is up and so far it rings true, I’ve been able to save £100s a year doing that instead of on the day.

If she had just slowed down and thought about it she wouldn’t be about to chuck loads of money down the pan unnecessarily. She could have organised for the car delivery in 3 weeks and set her insurance to start then if she wasn’t being naive, giddy and impulsive. Oh well, I fear she’ll only learn when the tides turn and she’s not making easy money off TikTok and benefits anymore.

Exactly this, plus with Kyle seemingly living there, realistically she should have notified UC and he should be providing for them all. Money will be alot tighter, especially taking on finance on top. Hopefully they've realised which bills need priority paying. If she does end up in a situation where she cant afford rent it's not going to be great as she would of made herself intentionally homeless. The housing association would then take back the property. Council wouldn't have duty to house her, SS would have duty to the children however. If she's gone for an older car then anything could go wrong and need sorting, a newer car and the payment aren't going to be low.

How does it work claiming benefits and receiving income?

She won't have the bf officially living there, would affect benefits massively.

Surely to have income to live on paying rent ect it would need to be guaranteed regular and enough to cover all outgoings

I do know when single mothers youngest is 3yo the benefits are restricted or stopped. The Mother is expected to work a certain amount of hours a week, have seen others on IG whinging about health issues , clearky trying to get on disability instead of working. Then like magic another pregnancy by another man.

My worry is those young innocent children. If I was her mother I'd be stepping in. No way should she be driving so soon with them in the car.

She will need to be registered as self-employed and declaring her earnings to Universal Credit on a monthly basis, and they will adjust her payments from them accordingly making deductions if necessary (if she has earned above the threshold). They may ask also to see bank statements etc.
