I really enjoy the mass catering challenges too. Why is it without fail they leave the veggie dish as an afterthought?

I'm not a big fan of the professional kitchen bits either. I get why they do it to get them used to that environment and test how they perform, but it's not all that exciting to watch as no professional chef would let it fall apart anyway.

I do love the cook for firefighters/army etc challenges. That's our of my favourites. They have to create menus and cook on a mass scale.

Nice bit of arselicking from Nickolas in the proffessional kitchen 'anything I can do for you chef' he's the one getting getting n my last nerve this series. Glad to see Myles go as well he was a bit full of himself.

She made me laugh. Every time the camera panned to her, she'd have this absolute scowl on her face! Every time! 😄

Who does everyone want to win? I like Sophie and her veggie dishes.
Yep go Sophie.. if for nothing else the polar opposite of Olivia in likeability, sensibility and knowing how to use what you’ve got 😀

Caught up last night. Agree re: Vanessa - has she been told to push the autism angle? I’m not sure how it’s relevant for a cooking competition.

I also agree that she didn’t deconstruct a butter chicken, she just made the sauce and plonked some roast chicken on top. If she didn’t like food mixed together then how could she eat a biryani? Agree as well that being her layer dish was a cop out.

Miles was smug and totally lacking in self awareness. He was really trying to plug himself on his IG and it doesn’t seem to have worked (less than 1.5k followers).

Delighted sugar-free dad has exited too. Sobbing about his daughter not being able to eat an ice cream to try and get an apron straight away. T1 diabetics can of course eat sugar as long as it’s regulated and their insulin dose adjusted accordingly: you’re supposed to give diabetics a sugary drink or a chocolate bar if they’re having a hypo for goodness sake!

Omg Olivia! I’m pretty sure at one point when the camera panned to them all standing in a line she full on rolled her eyes, stood there looking like a petulant teen with her arms crossed and pouting 🤣 I can relate to RBF but she seems to take herself so seriously.

What do we think about Grace Dent being one of the new hosts? Along with previously mentioned Anna Haugh.

I really want Abi or Brin to win, but I think it will be Chris.

Not sure if everyone has caught up yet, but glad Mary has gone. She was starting to annoy me. Her pineapple dessert was far too simple compared to what the others did.

Plus, I didn’t like the whole comeback aspect.

I've been catching up on this week's episodes and came here to see if anyone had commented on Oliva's resting bitch face and sulky behaviour. But I guess nobody is watching?

Also for some reason I thought Gregg was going to disappear halfway through the series, but he's still there going into finals week.
She was splendid wasn't she? So beautiful and angry all the time.

There was a fascinating episode where it was obvious they'd had to cut the person that didn't want to be in it - no long shots at all, no mentioning of numbers of people. Amazing how they did it.

Should be a good final week - I'm afraid I find the older lady with red lipstick quite irritating - lots of stupid facial expressions.

I don’t find the cooking in restaurants challenges very interesting - Michelin starred or not. I can’t help but feel it’s more about following a recipe and process (and attention to detail) rather than testing creativity, style, innate ability etc.
Yes the guests/judges are hardly going to say the concept and taste of the dish is terrible if it the brainchild of the celebrity chef.

Yeah professional kitchen part doesn’t make sense - it’s not like John’s going to slag off the chef’s recipe either lol

I thought Chris had won it until they tried Brin's food. Then it was obvious Brin had won. His food always looked really elegant.
Louise didn't stand a chance in the final really.
I can see Chris having a sort of cabaret supper club type place.

Feel really bad for the contestants on the un-aired series. It could have been life-changing for the winner and finalists.

I'm also very disappointed regarding John. That just seemed to suddenly come out of left-field.
