Does anyone watch this? As an aussie I am biased in saying it is better than the british one and the celebrity masterchef

Yep I watch it religiously and it IS better! I don’t understand why the UK doesn’t change the format, it’s so rubbish in comparison.

Oh my god yes! I agree, as an aussie I grew up on masterchef and now it sucks that I have to watch it UK pace! Are you watching it UK pace?
I loved last series! I am enjoying this series and have my favourites already I think!

I don’t even watch the UK one now to be honest. Can’t stand the judges. We record the Aussie one and catch up when we can but I’m up to date at the mo. I miss the old judges though! I don’t mind Jock etc but really loved Matt, Gary and George. I don’t have any favourites yet. Who are yours?

I love Mel. Think it had become stagnated with Gary, George and Matt.

We watched it at Aussie pace though we are in the UK. It is on another level compared with UK, US, Canada. I did enjoy the shortlived NZ version too.

Totally agree. I wasn't sure how the new judges would be but I warmed instantly to them last season, maybe having familiarity with the contestants helped so it wasn't all completely new.

I watched Plate of Origin with Matt, Gary and Manu, and it really highlighted how fresh the new judges are on Masterchef, I think they have a better dynamic with the contestants.

This season (I'm watching at UK pace), I can't deal with Tommy, really don't know how he's still there!

I haven’t heard of Plate of Origin, is it a contest, or just a general food programme? I did love the original 3, I don’t mind the new guys, but Jock drives me crazy the way he puts on that voice to welcome guest chefs or send an eliminated contestant home. Grates on me! Ha yes not sure how Tommy is still there because he’s clearly amazed when he cooks well 🤣 doesn’t inspire much confidence. Bless him

Plate of Origin was a competition. Twelve pairs that each specialised in a certain nation's cuisine to find out which was best.

I LOVE the Aus version. I’ve watched it for years.

I’m not a massive fan of Dan this season.

I found it hard to believe that the green curry cakes, highlighting onions were anything other than rank!

Thought it was very telling when that said goodbye to Eric that there where no memorable dishes, Eric's only memorable dish was the scrambled eggs carbonara!

Yes. I love this show. It's so much better than the UK one. What do you all think about them bringing back an eliminated contestant?

I have seen all series and with the exception of back to win (series 12) and just one other this is usual to give a second chance to an eliminated contestant, but previously only one not two.

It's the show's chance to crush people's dream not once but twice!

The rest of the contestants seem less resentful (or are hiding it better) than in other years.

Ah okay. I've only watched the back to win series and they didn't do it then. It's a good twist though.

If anyone has missed earlier series but wants to see more series 1-11 are on Amazon Prime. Would recommend starting at series 2 personally as it was finding its feet first series. Have rewatched all series bar the first, may go back there if am critically short of something to binge watch

Who do you want to get back in the competition? It's between Tom, Eric, Maja and Wynona?

I am routing for Tom or Maja. Eric before elimination did not make a dish worthy of comment on being sent home. I have an irrational dislike for Insta hun, Wynona!

I want Tom back too! I wasn’t too keen on Wynona and Eric never really impressed me.

I’m glad it wasn’t Teresa as she pissed me off not using her immunity pin so

Tom really misjudged that challenge, to have your dessert considered you need to make it through the first two rounds!

Of the rest please to see Maja have a second go. She was a middle of the pack runner, before being eliminated as the worst performer from the losers of a team challenge (Jock's salted caramel tart, that looked exactly like the duck tart)
