I mean up to Manon if she paints her nails or not, a total non issue. But felt a bit weird to me that her take is “well my husband likes them”.

are our husbands the final sign off now on what is and isn’t ok? If she prefers bare nails then that should be it. Why does her husband’s preference come up as though his seal of approval is needed..?

I thought whoever messaged her about her lack of nail polish was ridiculous but she’s so sensitive to criticism.. the cringey retort of “wElL mY HusBaNd lIkEs iT” completely undercut any validity in the point of not conforming to beauty standards.

Ugh I really try not to be too judgey with things like choices around sleep, weaning, etc etc all the other things we torture ourselves over as parents.

But to continue pushing this sleep training narrative with a child who has recurrent ear infections and I would say really needs more of a holistic view of his sleep and other potential medical issues is just winding me up.

I used to really like her recipes and even bought her first two books but I now just find her obnoxious and tone deaf. It's not about "hating" but stating that everything she has is down to hard work implies that everyone could live that way if only they worked "hard". Life is far easier when you live a life of privilege.

I couldn't quite believe how many adverts were on the father's day post alone, even his shirt was linked. I have no issue with the occasional advert but it is just constant and she's so far removed from her original content.

I find the constant references to "solo-parenting" ridiculous. I'm in hospital and there's no way my partner would say he is "solo-parenting" he's just being a parent.

I think her message is becoming more and more diluted. It's very much "look at me and my fabulous life" but when you have to advertise every product it just makes them look desperate. Are they really doing so badly that they have to sell everything? It comes across as poor financial planning and overstretched so they can keep up with the Jones', especially if they can't even afford childcare over the summer.

The best thing she could do is come offline for a while, stop linking every single product and go back to her original content. She posts everything but at what cost? I doubt her children will be happy when they're old enough to understand that every moment of their lives has been documented.

I only feed my children nutritious food! They will never use phones or ipads! I only speak French to them and I don't care if it's rude as it's far superior to English! I am where I am because of my "choices", like marrying a rich man! I wear lingerie, not underwear, because it is French and classy!

I don't know exactly when she went from refreshing to tedious but it's become especially noticeable in the past few months.

The child’s “summer” uniform still fits apparently. But the thing is Manon, it is autumn. She will need a warmer uniform.
It’s not a difficult thing to go and get your kid a uniform and a new backpack. It’s usually seen as a nice thing to do. It’s only difficult if you have no money to pay for it.

I don’t know, I’m sending my daughter in her uniform from last term and the same backpack. It’s still warm enough for summer uniform and it seems a waste to buy new until she needs it? It’s not a case of not being able to afford it, I just don’t think it’s necessary to buy all new if it still fits. We just buy new as and when we need it.

Yes, and she also refers to "haters", which just sounds so ridiculous. And posting the photo of her son in hospital and detailing everything that happened is a step too far. Does the poor kid not get any privacy? I know he's only a toddler but do we really need to know about his medical appointments?

I'm glad this has been raised. I genuinely enjoyed her content and didn't mind the occasional ad but this is now all of her content with an occasional recipe thrown in. I think there's a fine line between smug and aspirational and she hasn't managed it.

I understand that she has opportunities and she wants to make the most of them but they are consistent and I don't like the feeling of being misled.

There was also a post a few months ago about how her and her partner could only put their children in nursery a few days a week because they found everything so expensive.

I also find the use of her children revolting. I think it's utter hypocrisy to use her children to promote various brands. They can't consent and I question whether they're being paid for their contributions. Her post about the "dark side of influencing" was tone deaf when she is involved using her children for financial gain.

She had a USP and following from being on GBBO but I think she knows her popularity is running out and is making the most of it whilst it lasts.

I’ve unfollowed - yet another free holiday that’s undeclared and I’ve realised I’m not sure what I actually get from her account anymore. The recipes and food content are so few and far between these days compared with all the freebies!

Her latest FT ad is so peak Manon: gushing about staying offline and being present on Saturday mornings while simultaneously filming her entire family from every conceivable angle.

And of course she never misses an opportunity to have a pop at screens. She really thinks it's worse to let your kids watch a bit of Bluey on the iPad than feature their faces non-stop on Instagram just to get free shit!
