I might be ignorant, but is one parent, one language not quite usual in multi-lingual households? I would expect her to read with Fleur in French.
I do agree, though, that with Manon there’s more than a whiff of superiority.

Agree 100%, that is utterly ridiculous. She always says her husband works long days and doesn't get home until after bedtime so when exactly will he find time to read with Fleur?
I agree with her reading to Fleur in French to develop her understanding of both languages etc, absolutely, but to not support Fleur in reading her school book to Manon because it’s ‘English reading’ and therefore the English dad’s job is insane.
I have a British-German friend and I know his dad spoke to him exclusively in German growing up — his idea of rebellion was replying in English. 
I’ve actually never asked if he did his homework with him; but I think the risk is that the non-dominant language can be subsumed by the local one if you’re not careful. Fully agree, though, that M worded her post very poorly.
And obv this system only works if both parents have jobs that allow them to split “academia” 50/50. Seems, though, that M’s “British husband” has quite the demanding job (that London townhouse kitchen reno won’t pay for itself…).

I have a friend who's a native German speaker and even though she only speaks German to the kids, she still helped them with their reading and English homework because that's what you have to do if you're living here! I get only speaking to them in your language but there has to be a compromise and Manon's attitude is ridiculous.
An added difficulty she is bound to encounter sooner or later is that her kids will probably end up speaking English to each other, like most bilingual kids in London. Quelle horreur!

My German-Anglo friend did exactly this. Something light and soft structured is ideal for a back carry. Keeps their weight close to your centre of gravity so they feel lighter, then takes up no space to stick in a handbag when they inevitably want down to run about.

This woman is nauseating - the post re MIL took kids for 1.5 hrs so she can enjoy a drink with the family. Like she has to get in that it’s for a short time and be so time specific. Acting as if never gets a break her life is one big holiday.
Let’s not forget they pap those kids off to every holiday club or babysitter they can. So Lukey can get his special cuddles or he will be off with his P.A .
.Didn't they have a freebie at some posh hotel last week where the kids were left with hotel babysitters so Maman and Papa could have dinner a deaux? Plus there's the date nights that are possible thanks to "the life choices" they've made, so its not like they never get time together.
