Surely they’re paying for listeners and reviews. Because you can tell the genuine reviews and negative feedback compared to the obvious glowing planted ones. I haven’t listened to any of their pods for 2 years - not since Mia made flippant comments about Gaza. But from all the reviews and feedback seems like the quality of episodes has dramatically dropped so I cam believe they still constantly sit at number 1

Interesting that Mamamia is heavily pushing its staff to use AI. People working there must be miserable knowing their jobs are about to be outsourced to an LLM. Good on Clare for being so successful straight away and making a point of saying she won't be using AI to write stories.

Loved the first eps of Claire’s podcast! Amazing she’s pulled that off on her own in short time. I hope she kills it.
Haven’t listened to it yet, will tune in today. I’m sooooo sick of Em Vernon. She’s very uptight. I’ve stopped listening when she is on.

Lost all respect for her when she went back to Mamamia after being obviously unhappy there
I tried to listen to the new version of You Beauty while cleaning the house. It’s awful! It’s all designed to be watched like a tv show now. I watch good quality tv with script writers and actors, not people babbling on a couch. I don’t get this pivot at all
Haven’t tried listening yet, but it seems odd the advertising made a point that it’s recorded now on video. Correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t the other eps recorded in video as well? I used to like you beauty overall but Leigh and Kelly have become extremely over the top on everything and very fake. Amy’s always been a struggle I have found to listen to her voice is quiet whiny and always seems to be putting a fake persona to try and fit in. I’m not hopeful of this “rebrand”.

podcasts are for listening - all this does is reinforce the beauty standards that Mia is forever banging on about
They aren’t good at audio only podcasts, why would they introduce another element to demonstrate how bad they are?
I loathe the filming of podcasts generally. Unless it’s something with a celebrity guest perhaps! My reason for loving podcasts is that I can consume content while I’m doing other things, sometimes something really boring like laundry, housework, etc., or even sometimes background noise while I’m working. I do not need to sit there and watch it.

I’d love to see hard figures on how many ppl actually watch.
I watch a few podcasts on YouTube but they’re commentary of Tik Tok/influencer drama so the video shows clips so relevant. Mamamia ones are just hosts sitting around a table.
