Anyway not to de rail the thread on the Israel/Palestine issue, but it’s important to put the other side of the coin out there - there seems to be a lot of anti - Mia feeling here which does give a tone of anti semitism about it as well.

It’s absolutely galling that Mia exploits the women who work for her. She spent years claiming contributors didn’t want to be paid, they just wanted exposure. When she finally started paying it was only because she was being publicly criticised. Fifty dollars an article is pathetic. If they have $300,000 to throw away on their nepo baby, they can afford to pay their writers decently.

I did work experience years ago at Cosmo when she was the editor, and even as a 16 year old I could see she was a witch, the way she spoke to her staff was just gross. I remember coming home and telling my mum I would never be a boss like that if I got the opportunity to manage a team, it put me off wanting to work in magazines, glad I took another route that pays a tit load more! The fact that she’s hated has nothing to do with her being Jewish, she’s a just a flat out witch!

This is rather trivial but also indicative of the whole mess of an operation but has anyone noticed that Mamamia is constantly referring to Madeleine West as being 47. Every article and her podcast appearance and everything. Yet everywhere else I see lists her as being 45 and Wikipedia says born in 79.

Small but annoying because it’s not that hard to get that information right? And when I consider Madeleine has had her seventh child and that’s what the articles are largely about I realise probably they have just mixed the two numbers up in their mind so not only lazy but possibly sort of stupid?

I think the bit people are missing about Mia thinking she will be attacked for being publicly sad about Oct 7 (paraphrasing) is that she knows she is only sad about Israelis being killed. She wouldn’t even be able to force about a prattle about “all victims of war” because she simply does not see Palestinians as victims.
