A car seat is safe enough for a baby of any age to sit in for 2 hours or so, I never had a lay down bit as it doesn’t come with every pram. Maybe she wasn’t told? She’s a new mum.Nothing annoys me more than putting a baby into a carseat for a walk, a carseat is for a car, a wee baby should be lying flat.. That's why you get a carrycot with your pram unless the stroller is flat and can be used from birth, in the case of an egg... He should be in his carrycot 0-6m then into the stroller.... Putting a carseat on your pram is only for essential short burst at a time when needed!!
Julie has done this a few times lately, she would have been told all then when you got her discounted priced pram![]()
Wow what a statement to make. Not everyone has the luxury of knowing everything. A book says one thing, google says another. The main things yes a mother aims to learn but for Christ’s sake not everyone needs to know every single piece of information out there on newborns! Very degradingI hate the first time mum and no one told me excuses. Everyone is a first time mum when they have their first child, and you shouldn’t wait for people to tell you things. We have the luxury of book, the internet, and instruction manuals
2 hrs is too long, currently any baby retailer will tell you 1.5hrs after the baby is 4 weeks old and it's really only for essential needs you use it on your wheels, car seats are for the car journey and you have to be aware of the time spent it a car. Its all to do with the neck to chest postion.A car seat is safe enough for a baby of any age to sit in for 2 hours or so, I never had a lay down bit as it doesn’t come with every pram. Maybe she wasn’t told? She’s a new mum.

The guidelines to baby's constantly change, the difference between having my first and last was actually unbelievable and guess what I still did some of what I did first time round and she is alive and healthy. I find most of it a lot of nonsense to be honest, you do what suits you.
Children manage to thrive and be healthy in under developed countries so I think most of what we are told here is utter nonsense
I totally agree with you. I would have thought it’s common sense to realise that babies shouldn’t be sat in a car seat for a long period of time.Nothing annoys me more than putting a baby into a carseat for a walk, a carseat is for a car, a wee baby should be lying flat.. My son is now 15, was rared in a car seat because he had really really bad reflux and the health visitor told me to keep him upright . Nothing wrong with him 15 years later except a case of lazy-itis frequently .Wow what a statement to make. Not everyone has the luxury of knowing everything. A book says one thing, google says another. The main things yes a mother aims to learn but for Christ’s sake not everyone needs to know every single piece of information out there on newborns! Hardly degrading. No one said anyone needed to know everything either. Stop being so dramatic. I said I hated people using those statements not that everyone needed the luxury of knowing everythingWow what a statement to make. Not everyone has the luxury of knowing everything.
