Someone mentioned in the previous thread about Grace ‘overreacting’ to ‘innocuous’ comments from Ash. If you’re talking about when Ash said ‘what do you expect when there’s a half naked good looking woman in front of me’ that wasn’t innocuous. It was belittling. And it was continuing the narrative that men do not have control over themselves around women. That it’s our responsibility to hide ourselves if we don’t want unwanted attention. He wasn’t talking about her and how his attraction to her was overwhelming because of her. It was just another opportunity to grab at her when she wasn’t up for it. Exactly like the description of the sheets being pulled off in panorama. She could’ve been anyone and how is he supposed to control his animalistic instincts? I expect Grace had a pretty difficult time but was being constantly gaslit with all the chat about Ash being lovely.
That was me and it wasn't that comment actually. I didn't comment on that one as we didn't see it.
I meant ones we actually saw.
It was one where the producer was in the room. Ash and Grace were both kidding around and laughing. We saw that - I'm not making it up.
The producer said something like 'did you have a nice time'? and they both said 'yes' and Ash added 'but Grace was a fool' to which they both laughed. Later Grace was very upset about it.
What we were shown and in context it seemed affectionate. The sort of thing my OH and I would say to each other.
With hindsight maybe it was a horrible comment especially if there was a pattern.
My original comment was it a lot of what we saw due to editing (obviously). I should have put innocuous in inverted commas.
I obviously don't condone pervy or sinister comments.

Seen a few cast members jumping on the bandwagon to make videos/posts, anything for some attention. One thing I’m confused about though is Leigh has done a video to say the welfare team were great which I think is in ill taste given that not everyone’s experiences is the same and it also doesn’t add anything relevant except make the 3 that come forward probably feel like idiots…

I doubt anyone takes her “words of wisdom” or input seriously. Her rebuttal states she’s “aloud” to have her say 😂

Davide also posted to say he had a great experience. He did also say he didn’t want to take away what anyone else experienced

it's giving Russell Brand
he always had a Russell Brand kinda vibe going on with all his spirituality and how he is guided by the universe, and if the energy felt off it was the universe telling him that their relationship wasn't meant to be. remember when shona asked,if he loved hern and he skirted round the question without giving a direct answer, instead he waxed lyrical about how the universe would always be the most important thing to him and she could never compare - it just seems that now the allegations have come out, he's gone full Brand and conviently "found religion" - presumably to push the perspective of that justifying him being absolved of all his sins, all is forgiven as he has found Jesus - the usual Brand rhetoric. give a few weeks and he'll be getting baptised in the Thames. 🙄

to me, the way he is immediately emulating Brand's actions from the moment that allegations of grape/sexual assualt were made agsinst him speaks volumes in terms of Brad admitting to the abuse, albeit indirectly.

I think the language of MAFS could contribute to these issues. They say the cast has been 'matched by science' and it's 'a social experiment'. But it's bull - they've been matched for reality TV entertainment value.

I saw the video and scrolled on by. She didn’t deserve the view. It is in very poor taste. I am deeply disappointed in people choosing this exact time to speak up about their positive experience. What purpose does that serve except to discredit those who have bravely come forward?

I saw one video by Megan Wolfe who was the lady married to Bob and she went on to kiss another groom which was obviously ‘scandalous’.

The more and more I think about Mafs, the toxic it seems. And it’s always women who are portrayed at the problem imo. Megan was one in hindsight, then there is Gemma rose, Grace, Polly etc the list goes on. I’m not doubting they were problematic, but the edit they were given, made them the villain and that’s icky. It’s never the men.

It’s the women who have are problem cos they don’t want to have sex with the guys or feel vulnerable or are given the ‘mean girl’ edit.

And the talk of all the drug taking, sex acts in front of
Production is vile. I’m glad it’s off air.

Is it not the ones that were filmed in that period? Because one of the women who has bravely come forward has said they still aired her episodes anyway! Despite everything

And sometimes they look like they've been wilfully mismatched to make good telly eg Adam/Polly and that other couple I've forgotten - 'love a wine, love a crisp' - where both men rightly or wrongly specified they preferred thin women. Putting them with curvier women was surely just so we could witness their dislike which wasn't fair to either party.
